It has to be your decision at the end of the day, so you need to inform yourself as much as possible. In the UK I believe HRT is not really favoured any more (have a GP in the family). Remember other people's experiences are just that, so you need to decide what is right for you. Personally I would always try the natural route before anything artificial. Good luck. thanks sue r. i havent lived in uk for a long while so not up to date with regard hrt. thanks very much. i do prefer natural methods where poss. regards.

Hi, Can't help as far as ablation treatment for heavy bleeding and HRT, but it is never too early to start researching the different treatments. I elected to go the natural HRT route due to ethical and cancer concerns ( not knocking those on HRT !!) . It has been a long battle and I really regret not having looked into it until menapause hit me like a brick wall. Do loads of research and make lists of questions for your doctors. All the best. thanks for the info nomad, i too prefer holistic approach, but with the way things are at the moment i am thinking of the help hrt might give me. i will look into all aspects before making a decision. thanks again.

Went on the Bateaux Dubai last year and can thoroughly recommend it. The decor's lovely, the service was very good without being overbearing, and the food was gorgeous. We took our 20 y.o. daughter who was visiting and all had a great time. There were a couple of other families, but mostly couples doing the romantic thing. Apparently they also usually have good live entertainment on board, but as we went during Ramadan there was only a bit of piped music. went recently and it is lovely, the starter i had of lobster bisque froth with risotto and scallop was lovely as was my steak main course. the music was very nice and in the back ground, lots of people had birthdays on board and had happy birthday sung to them. we werent on the side tables as we were a big party, but i would go again as a couple, the view as always on the creek is lovely. the time went by in the wink of an eye. we used entertainer vouchers for the non alco option 310/- aed and bought our own drinks. they do have a special on at present with house drinks only for 333/-

Chuck away anything YOU don't like :) he he thats so funny, how do you declutter someone elses stuff - i declutter and reorganise if i am asked for help and with their help. we have 3 bin bags, rubbish, charity and repairs or alterations. if its not been worn in a year its out as well in the charity bag. i am ruthless as the point of it is not to put everything back in but to give you space for more shopping :)

warehouse down stairs on a friday offer non alco brunch for 139 dirhams, nice starter buffet and then you order loads and loads of different meats and fish skewers to be grilled and brought to table, dessert table good too. upstairs dont offer reduction on brunch, so make sure you book down stairs. and wafi, sit in either mahi mahi, carters, taichi or medzo and have alco free brunch and eat in all of the restaurants as mentioned as many times as you want, you just go round and round - its also about 129 per person. do not go to habtoor grand brunch at the white lounge even tho they offer no alco brunch for 225 its vile and stinks with people smoking all day in there and horrible atmosphere, rude waiters, horrible furniture - heaven knows why its called the while lounge its full of horrible plastic furniture. food is rubbish too, steer clear - urgh! edited by fairwater on 27/06/2011

Butternut Squash has been roasted as per instructions and come out fab, BUT the beetroot is all white inside and still rock hard! Been in oven at 180 for 2 hours wrapped in tinfoil. Is this just bad Beetroot? It's from India does that make a difference at all? beetroots are purple inside and outside and when raw if you cut them they bleed purple, turnips are white flesh and skin with a slight pink tinge on tops of skin. tend to use in soups and stews. or mashed.

Skydiving? ah the ivys opened then - that sounds good. has the agency moved now have you been and is it still as nice. i used to love it when i lived on sz road and my visitors all loved scarlets. the sky view bar good choice, i always forget that end of town as we are in garhoud.

if you cant find an appt in difc or downtown, try walking up and down sheikh zayed road ( i know its hot take water and use an umbrella !) and find apt blocks you fancy go in and ask the prices and ask to view there and then, most will let you, ask what facilities they offer and make sure what ever apt you fancy has free a/c as in the summer its a heavy burden on the wallet. also some apts now are offering free utilites as well, dont be shy to ask. ask re free pool and gym. how many parking spaces, is it open or undercover is it free, is it allocated to your apt. as even if theres any cleaning on offer - as i know when we lived in ghaya residence on sheikh zayed road they used to offer 2 days cleaning ( 1 hour 6 people cleaning twice a week ) in with the price. you dont ask you dont get. loads are empty, most do offer free a/c or chiller as some call it, . if you can stay near your husbands work place it makes life a lot easier. and sheikh zayed/difc are on the metro, so handy and so good. try looking on www.dubizzle.com as well. good luck.

butternut squash, de seed wash and dry, no need to peel, peel is edible. oil a dish with room to spread butternut out in one layer cut butternut into even size chunks and crush a LOT of garlic with rosemary or marjoram or origano and a good glug of oil, little salt and ground black pepper, cook at around 200 electric till its soft and caramelising/browning around the edges. eat hot. yum yum, i got this recipe from a south african friend years ago and we still love it. i wash and dry beetroot - dont peel - just top and tail and cut into wedges and cook in the same way. both are nice hot with goat cheese and spinach as a salad. and a fruity dressing i usually squish a few really soft strawberries into vinegarette dressing. edited by fairwater on 27/06/2011

well will never go to that brunch again it was vile. the room we were in was cleared of all nice furniture and filled will that horrible plastic rattan, it stunk of cig. smoke and smoking was allowed in there as well. it stunk of stale beer and was just a horrible horrible place. the food was nothing to write home about and the so called desert buffet that timeout said was amazing , was rubbish one vile pudding and a bowl of chopped melon. the salad veg ssection of the buffet was rubbish as well. def. not worth the money and will never go again or recommend it. they advertised live music as well. well we didnt see any of that. the waiter that served us was the rudest person ever. and we werent even drinking as we had to go out in the evening, so its not like we were rude to him. horrible place. uurrgghhh

jonners, hi - we lived in kenya and were taking anti mal. pills we were taking them daily and weekly for 3 years we lived there, it didnt stop malaria, we all got it and i had it twice - but then we were living down in rift valley miles from anywhere. i cant recommend which ones to take as there are so many different ones - one family we knew was taking a new once a week pill and it caused really bad psychological problems with one of their sons, so research carefully before deciding on any. we didnt have any jabs or take any anti malaria stuff before we went last october as we went at such short notice. we were fine - fortunately! but i recommend taking or buying lots of mossie spray for any rooms u stay in and burn the mossie repellant jos sticks, use plug in repellants infact use as much as you can as often as you can in any rooms u have to stay in. use sprays for yr bodys too, all in all it might sound a pain to do all this - but going to kenya is so worth it, have a good time.

not sure about canada, but re the uk we are brits with full passports - our kids were born rsa and lived their for 4 years and then we lived on two sep. occasions in uk for 7 years each time as well as other countries . our son is now in dubai and married to a non brit and thinking of kids, i asked the brit embassy in uk for advice re their kids passport issues and they said as long as our son can prove he has resided in uk for any continuous period of 3 plus years ( school reports, pay slips that sort of stuff ) then his children can get a british passport. regarding my sons grandchildren, i think thats way to far in the future for me to worry about and so for me i wont be worrying over that, thats my sons and his kids issue to sort out.
