i recently contacted al hamra re buying a property and asked various questions, one of which is the annual maintenance fee - they quoted 10/- aed per square foot, doés anyone know if that is correct. this means on a town house with sq footage of 2770 sq ft. you are paying 27,000 dirhams a year. surly this cant be correct, does anyone know if this is so as, thats way over the top..

wasnt quite sure how to describe it, it looks like a baked cake but it is raw and no cooking is involved. a raw carrot cake. with a topping made of cashew nut which is made to resemble a cream topping - it is - oatmeal, hazelnuts, dates, carrots, vanilla, cinnamon, cardamom, (raisins). all cut and then blended in a food processor. adding raisins in at the end. put in a pie dish and pat down level and leave to stand in fridge. cream - chop cashews very finely in hand blender, add orange juice and honey. stir till thick and creamy. just before serving top with the cashew cream garnish with orange zest. delicious. its from a book called the art of raw food. edited by fairwater on 09/07/2012

i love bobbi brown as her make suits all colour skins which is fantastic and i know i can pick almost anything and it will suit my skin tone, i have yet to be disappointed and the make up goes on with such ease, i do like the loose powder too. i just cant get on with the mineral make ups as they seem a lot harder to apply properly. i like to slap it on and go :)

it does say on the vouchers that they are not valid with any other offers unless specified, so presume that means you cant us both the vino and the meal vouchers at the same time. we used to be able to use them about 2 years ago but now they refer to the voucher and say cant use both.

I have the cinnamon one and I have to add some vanilla powder to it and hold my nose and just down it in one go. These comments are from my son who him and his wife and many people he knows who take lean95: Just a question, are you taking the Lean95 from the organic shop in Dubai mall? As there isnt any different flavors? The all natural vegan drink from wellness brothers, there is only one flavor. It is green in clolour costs 250AED. Well worth the money. It all depends on how much you care for your health. Is your health the most important thing in your life? Do you want to prevent heart problems high blood pressure diabetes etc? Lean95 is a great drink. It has only 95 cals per drink and is full of natural products that keep you full for longer. It has spirulina, maca powder, cocoa, and much more. The drink its self can replace 1 or 2 meals a day depending on your goals. And has to be drank with at least 500mls of water. You will never lose weight if you have an unhealthy diet around this drink. And you have to do exercise. There is no quick fix diet to lose weight. Pre-prepare meals for the day the night before. Take them with you to work or whereever you go. Inbetween your 3 main healthy meals snack on a handfull of almonds. Minimize fruit to 1-2 a day and take Lean95 as a meal replacement for one of your meals. Finally drink at least 2litres of water a day minimum; along with exercising 3-4 days a week as a minimum. Lean95 taste fine, make it with homemade almond milk(easy to make) or cold green tea or homemade lemon water. Your body will love the goodness in side this drink. Most important: be consistant/ eat healthy/ be active(burn more calories than you put in) Have a great day and good luck with all your weight loss.

i am drinking lean 95 and the taste is not so bad. i have mine to replace breakfast as i struggle to eat first thing in the morning, so this suits me fine. i mix mine with 500mls of cold water plus noni berry juice and a splash of cranberry - its fine. i quite like it.

i mix sugar or coarse salt with any body lotion hanging around, or to vegetable oil or olive oil or shower gel or mayonaise or honey or what evers in the fridge or shelf. u can also use coarse oats as a scrub too instead of sugar or salt. all seem to work fine u can even grind up coarsly some left over pineapple skin after peeling, that seems to do the trick too. i have also used papaya skin inside bit, rubbed all over and left on for 10 mins as an exfoliant too.

I moved here last September and being a fair soul, who would complain if it went over 20degs in the UK I was worried! However now, I'm absolutely fine, I acclimatised pretty quickly I don't have the a/c on all the time in the house now, and if its lower than 25 I'm cold! More concerned now that I'm going to freeze when i return to the UK on Friday! i recently returned from uk, wales and i was freezing the whole time, i definitly went with the wrong ( summer ) clothes, i wished i had packed my boots, padded jacket and long sleeved things. but you may be luckier with the weather than i was. i took around 2 summers to find it okay and i never go away for the summer, i dont feel the need to. edited by fairwater on 24/06/2012

promod is quite good. i am a size 16 and their xlarge and size 16s fit, depending on style and material. i do find on the whole clothes are more expensive than the uk and sizing in some stores leaves a lot to be desired, next tends to be awkward sizes. new look can be alright and so can h and m. again depends on material and style for fit. dream girl are pretty awful, i wouldnt go back, they take too long to do things and the clothes are badly made. edited by fairwater on 24/06/2012

what breed of dog are they. yorkies are supposed to be notorious for toilet training. they have small bladders too and can hold themselves for so long. its a pain and ours do it if we dont put them out every half hour or hour. when we go out we shut ours in kitchen with their blankets - it seems to have done the trick. we havent replaced sofas yet, but ours too chew things even tho they have lots of toys and attention.

seems that after reading that they had been given licence to fly to the uk, they are not. they are only flying routes 4 half hours long. i am sooooo disappointed, i would love to have flown straight to my home town of cardiff one way from dubai and i know that my family would love the convenience of that too. shame. heard nothing re rak airways who were also granted a licence.

DH thinks about 1300sq ft. Our kitchen is huge as well as our bedroom which also fits our office Services are excellent. The air con was blocked inn the ceiling of the kitchen the other day so when I came home water was dripping down and floor was all wet, rang them immediately and someone was there to fix it in 5 mins. always very clean and security knows everyone so very safe. If you have LO then the playground is always busy and the gym is well maintained. do you know about the villas - are any for rent or for sale, the sales office never gets back. thank you

Like whole dates, date syrup contains modest amounts of potassium, magnesium, calcium, iron, riboflavin, niacin, folate, phosphorus, pantothenic acid, and vitamin B-6. Ounce for ounce, dates contain more potassium than bananas.

one only has to see how the tabloids treat anyone in the Uk who has succeeded or become rich/ famous - they are scathing of anyone who smacks of the good stuff. That probably why the tabloids were invented there! On the other hand, in the US they seem to be much more ra-ra and patriotic if someone is an ivy-league, pearly whites hero type, and very slow to critisize their own yes i agree.

inverness is hotter than ibiza at 27oC ! i wish we had temperatures like that in the 7 years i lived in tillicoultry:) I live in Alva!! We are enjoying the temperatures this week. It was 26 in the Hillfoots yesterday. Hot enough for me. I hated the stuffy heat while in Doha when you couldn't be outside for any length of time. The downside is indeed the fact that it is difficult to cool houses built for the UK climate but lovely to see summer flowers and smell fresh cut grass. By the way, The Ochils are stunning in the sunshine! :) yes the hillfoots are glorious especially in the autumn with the colours of the trees and heather on them - so beautiful - we had a burn running through our garden and in the summer trout swiming in it and mink catching them to eat. i loved to hear the bees buzzing and the birds chiriping and freshly cut grass. but i didnt enjoy the dark long nights and winters. brrr. i have to say i prefer dubai in the summer;)

I dont think certain British people like people doing well. They seem to resent people who in their minds decide to move away from the UK or earn more money etc. All my friends in the UK tell me not to move back unless absolutely necessary and they said they would jump at the chance of living here. I feel the UK needs to sort it's own back garden out before it slates Dubai. couldnt agree more louisedvs

People are just jealous! Of what exactly? sunshine all year round, tax free salaries, perceived ideas of living in grandeur ( some of us do have to work although you wouldnt think so by the way they talk ) - some people are just jealous because they are stuck in their humdrum/ in a rut lives and are too scared to take the plunge to do anything different out of the ordinary. by that i dont nes. mean moving to dubai, i mean just moving house for some is a big deal, changing careers even though they moan about how they hate their jobs, well you could go on and on. i have found this regardless of what country i have lived in and i have moved a lot, people get jealous because they think you are living an exotic life and they have just stayed stuck in the groove. by the way to the first poster, you have so much patience to have sat for so long and let him carry on - i would have told him to shut his face regardless of who he was related to.

u bring the airer in to put the clothes on and then take it out. you stop taking the dogs for a walk and chuck them out into the garden instead. you send your husband out to bbq whilst you supervise from inside in the a/c the a/c is on all night in the bedroom your eye balls feel like fried eggs you read a lot instead of going out and pottering in the garden you feel too lazy to even put a swim cossie on to go into the pool - i wish i had a private pool in a private garden;)

if they dont want people wearing revealing clothes then why have them in shop windows and sell them in the shops, and please dont say just to wear at home. i do agree though that the bits of thread that some people venture to the malls in you dont see in the uk even in the summer, people dont walk around tescos in see through barely there clothes - not where i come from anyway. what about men and the dress code, i for one cant stand seeing men in those up the b*m short shorts, skinny barely there vest tops with everthing hanging out - they are sitting all over the seats in the cafes and restaurants in their sweaty skin, yuk. i think the longer you live here the more you appreciate certain things arent shoved in your face, but i have only ever experienced one local lady going crazy in mirdiff city centre last year - this is in the 9 years i have lived here. ps why are the notices on the doors to malls only in english and arabic, wheres the russian etc. as well. pps why arent people informed before they travel here, once they are here they are here its a bit late then in my opinion if you've only brought your thong and bikini top for your fortnight.! edited by fairwater on 14/05/2012;) edited by fairwater on 14/05/2012

Oh my, you lost weight by listening to CDs?? Here is the magic everyone was looking for! Not quite (although I did also lose weight using Paul McKenna's CD's) - the hypnoband involves seeing a hypotherapist for a few visits. Mine discussed my weight history, and then adapted the first few hypno sessions to suit me, then we did the hypnoband session which involved the smells and sounds of an operating theatre during an operation. It all sounds mad, but I actually felt as if I was being operated on and could feel my stomach reducing in size as if a band had been fitted. The CD's are listened to daily to keep you focussed on it. I will go back and see the Hypnotist this summer and have the sessions again as I was impressed by it. hi did you have this done here and if so who did you go to. thanks.
