went to plant street last night to get quotes on curtains 2 windows @ 250 cm x 240 cms each window they quoted with wooden poles 3, 500 dirhams curtains cotton linen polyester thanks.

its a great big WOW in artikel. every inch of the shop is decked out - its fabulolsity at its best - but then so are the prices! homecentre have decs on sale, as does The One. crate and barrel have lovely decorations for sale and pottery barn.

we went to the show room, theres nothing to look at thats made up like a shop, it is the warehouse/factory. but they have some bed sets already made waiting for purchase, so would assume couple of days for the final paint and then delivery and they do have a catalogue which is the same as the online showroom. the quality is very good. you can see them making the furniture there. we actually bought a bed there and then from the catalogue. 5-7 days to make and deliver. and they can paint to either bronzy black, gold, white and black. they look very sturdy and i am sure will last for ever. for a similar bed in crate and barrel you would pay nearly 4 thousand dirhams. the factory is easy to find as well - they only deal in cash.

cost to make and time it takes just isnt worth it, and the loaves have a hole in the middle because of the paddle. dont bother buying.

hilton sharks bay is fantastic and great for kids i think its got 2 kids clubs, we preferred the hotel part with the gigantic pool that was across the road from the beach hotel side as the rooms were bigger, pool far better too, more room. the pool is huge, have a look on trip adviser and look at the professional pictures - the pool is massive. the food when we were there was great, all buffet style and lots of choice each day a different theme, and as its all in you can eat drink anywhere in the whole resort. theres a shuttle bus that goes all around the resort if you dont feel like walking. the kids can go anywhere from 6am till around 2am apart from 1 bar/disco. there are lots of families there, we dont have small kids with us anymore, but we could see the children there having fun. we enjoyed it even without children. was really nice. fun touches like staff making hanging monkeys or boats from towels in the rooms, all staff were really lovely. well we really enjoyed it. and the snorkeling was fantastic. <em>edited by fairwater on 10/11/2011</em>

keeping mum and dad both are pure bred and have papers, so keeping them for ever as we love them to bits plus we think we will keep the smallest baby - but that leaves four to go dec/ beg jan time/ they are just starting to get their yorkie whiskers coming in on their little faces, oh so cute. :) <em>edited by fairwater on 10/11/2011</em>

Oh dear now I am feeling lazy, as I spend most days just reading or surfing the web. How I wish for a creative streak, but its not to be. edited by Nscm7859 on 31/10/2011 sounds i am not the only one with these hobbies. i watch far too much tv too, i used to scrap but after a friends group broke up at crowne plaza dubai around 3 years ago i havent done it at all. i have half finished books all over the place.

We have tried a few and agree with the ladies that it's not a cheap option. Thought West 14 on the palm was good but absolute favourite is Ruths Chris Steak House at the Monarch hotel. Unbeatable. Both are in fine dining. ABSOLUTELY have to agree with you ice maiden ruth chris is sublime - that butter, so yummy. love it.

How does the Jim Will Fix It outlet work from ACE. Do you take things in to be fixed? The one thing I wish ACE would do is offer classes on DIY like they do back home. How to use tools, laying your own tiles, decorative painting finishes etc. I really miss that stuff. i think you can speak to them in ace and make appts. etc, see what they do, that sort of stuff. we asked if they do work rak as we want some stuff done in apt. there, but they only survice dubai at this time. yeh i would love diy classes too.

hello SD re royal breeze, we went to see the apt. this weekend as we made a fuss of the snagging list being done before we hand over any more cash, well in this instance they had done all but one of the things on our list, it is just one small item being finished today. we were very pleased at the final result. but we had to make a big fuss first. hope your friend has a good result with her apt. they are still doing the gardens and tarmacing roads around and putting the brick paths in etc, a work in progress. but its looking a lot better. we found the pizza coffee place and the lebenese restaurant and enjoyed a sundowner on the terrace of the yacht club and found a&e just a short walk away. feel a lot happier now.

Have you been invited to complete your property yet, or have you actually had it handed over? I have someone in the UK who has purchased and has been asked for final payment but wanted to know if handover is actually going ahead yet. TIA hi there sanddy dogg - yes they are handing over this month and and we viewed our apt. this month and this is what we experienced - in case you want to pass on. they should have been sent a letter by courier to offer them to view either themselves or appoint someone else to view on their behalf. they are only allowing viewing up to end of this month, then they expect final payment. 1% charge of final payment per month for late payment. some people have moved into them to live in them. we are not doing that. we will use it on a part time basis. so having said that we gave them a big snagging list. to which end they came back and said they will only look at the snagging list and put us in the queue, once the final payment is done,( they have 1 year to do list!) then they will hand keys over then they will take into consideration the snagging list, and will only do what they approve. for example ours, there are a lot of floor tiles laid incorrectly and now cracked or cracking. paint peeling off walls on balcony. chipped bathroom tiles. badly laid out ceilings, mis matched and very poor paint work inside. and so on etc. they have cancelled any cooking facility with in the apartments - no gas and no electricity for a cooker, nothing for any provisions for any stove or any form of cooking what so ever, other than a micro wave and all the plug points for one side of the kitchen are in the hole where a stove would have gone, which means that appliances pluged in on that side have to cross over the sink to be plugged in, apparently the contractor cancelled and so RB decided not to bother with cooking facilities, so they told us a week ago. we werent informed of this by the way previous to last week.. their water and electric connection is double that of dubai, the unit rate in dubai with dewa is 23 fils with RB they are charging 43 fils per unit. they say to allow for ac and elec cooker to be on at same time, - theres no provision for any cooker what so ever. they are using RAK power until such time that FEWA can supply them. the grounds are coming along nicely and the pool is nice but the temp control not working as yet. kids play area set up, paving and gardens nearly finished. gym, cafe and change rooms nothing in as yet. hope that helps. <em>edited by fairwater on 25/10/2011</em>

mum is a beautiful cream/white pure bred yorkshire terrier and dad is pure bred blue/black and tan yorkie - shes actually a little bigger than him. shes given birth to 5 ( so far ) adorable pups all exactly like their dad. i couldnt be more happy than now. its been a wonderful 3 half hours. shes been a wonderful mum with them so far and case book births. they are squeaking as we speak, shes very attentive to them all and so far text book deliveries. dad had a look but hes left them in peace now. hes not got access to her room until shes ready probably next couple of days.
