Hi, this is a bit of a long shot..but I hope somebody here will be able to help. Since we are moving to the UK in Spring 2014 I am looking for a cottage/small house that is rented directly by the owner (min 2 BR). The location is not so important (however it should be no more than 1 hour by train from a major airport since we are going to commute to Dubai on a frequent basis). We are looking for something family friendly since we have 2 small kids. I think it would be great if we found a landlord who is currently in Dubai so we could meet face to face. Hi there - I am also moving back to the UK shortly and have a 3 bed in Bedfordshire which I will be renting out. It will be available in about 3 months time. Please let me know if you would like more info/or to discuss. Hi Stellapas Please give me more details about your property.. Sorry for the late reply, I couldn t find my post and thought it was deleted.

Just wondered as we have a house in Northumberland, but it's a bit out of the way, although great for kids. Old fashioned, in that they can play out safely, leave their toys etc out without worry and everyone looks after each other :) Sounds interesting. How can I contact you?

Where is it located? Where are the porters standing? My friend is arriving with a newborn at Terminal 1 and would like a porter. Marhaba service is a bit overpriced..

If your husband is resident in the UK, determined by number of days spent there, family ties, and where he has a home, he will have to pay tax in the UK, which, broadly, is 40% for everything over £32k and 45% for everything over £150k (and obviously the same would apply for your earnings). Thanks CilliChai! Where can I get more information about this and the specific criteria (e.g. how many days he needs to spend in the UK).

Judging by your typing, I'd say your English is excellent! I can't remember what it's called, but there is a group who meet and do a sort of language exchange. So basically you speak to native speakers to improve your skills. Which might be more beneficial to you than a formal class. There's a group who meet in AD, 2/3 times a week in different cafes and are represented by various nationalities, facebook.com/ADspeaks. Perhaps you could contact them to see if they know of a similar setup in Dubai thanks, will try that

Isn't that just typical. Leave the animals for someone else to find homes for. Anyway, won't even go into all my thoughts but hopefully give you some helpful info :).. Has someone taken these cats in to foster? Are they indoor cats, are they safe where they are? You need to take pictures of these poor cats, make posters and plaster them all over the place. Feel free to mention that some selfish family has just left them. Put their pictures on Dubizzle and the information. You will have to do this every few days to keep them up top. (Open an account and when you put up a new one, delete the old one or Dubizzle may do that for you :). Please post on cat rescue sites on Face book ie. Bin Kitty Collective, Friends of Animals, Feline Friends Dubai, 38smiles. Not everyone does facebook so make sure the posters are renewed every week as everyone goes to grocery stores and corner shops :). Send the info to all your friends and ask them to pass the info along. do a web poster and put the link up here as well. Fingers crossed that they will be rehomed quickly. Thanks so much!

Well, how come I am not really surprised by the kind of remarks I received to my post?! Must be something to do with the Dubai crowd, I reckon. Anyways, just to clarify: Firstly, I am of course aware of the one-villa-one-family rule. The idea was that this would be some kind of a project and I think in this way it would get the approval of the government. Secondly, the idea was not to save money or to be able to afford to live in a villa that one could not afford otherwise. The idea is more of the kind of a social experiment. We are not hippies or tree-huggers ;) To be honest I also like my privacy and do not even employ a housemaid because I cannot imagine having her live-in (among other reasons). The idea would be that every family still has their own flat in the house but also has some common rooms. So only if you feel like having company you meet in these common rooms.

Hi Meow Have you tried Aptamil AR? It becomes thick by itself. I read your previous post and I kn now what it is like.My baby is also suffering from reflux. I also feel that Nexium doesn t work as well as it used too. But it does make a difference. Which doctor are you seeing and how old is your baby now?

I was wondering if there is anyone else suffering from this and how you treat it? I saw a doctor back home but the condition is coming back and I am looking for a cornea specialist in Dubai.

They usually come with the zapp, so I've not heard of Buying them separately. however when I looked on eBay there were many, so if you are desperate, you could ship them in. Or maybe ask in Just kidding on SHk Z rd if they can order them? I'm sure someone on here would have theirs from when their LO has grown out of the maxi cosi, and is now just using the pram. Hopefully you'll find someone nice to borrow from :) WOULD BE GREAT IF I COULD BORROW THE ADAPTORS FROM SOMEONE..

A friend of mine will be coming soon and she would like to use her holiday here to have her facial hair removed permanently. She will only stay 10 days, so will that be possible? ( I think you need a number of sessions over a period of time.) Can someone recommend a clinic/doctor and also give me a rough idea about the price, please. Thank you!

I think it's wax paper, but not sure. it is not the same as wax paper, that much I have found out. You are supposed to be able to iron it on clothes and fabrics..

I recently bought a bib made from a keffiyeh (Arab headwear). It made a great gift. I bought mine at an ARTE market, but you can check the website www.omalillo.com for more details.

I am currently thinking about getting the distribution rights for some products. How does it work from there? Let's say I have secured the rights for some sports equipment for example. Can I just start approaching shops here in the UAE? Do I need a company based in UAE to do so (trading liscence) or is it fine to act as the go between between the shop and the maker since I have a company in EU? Is anyone doing this or has experience?

I will only need it for 2 markets in december. Ideally it would be a female one and one for children clothes. Can someone lend it to me? Or where can I buy it?
