Try www.executivesolutionsme.com - they recruit admin, project and recruiters for clients in Abu Dhabi but are based in Dubai, I heard some people have part time or temp positions. Best to be on your husbands sponsorship as this makes it easier for an employer to hire you, they only need to get your labour card, so is cheaper for their process, and you are therefore a good candidate based on cost :)

I can see a lot of black smoke from our office, hope everyone is OK, does anyone know what it is. It looks like the back of MOE near Lulus?

I back Cafe Baroque - they have a revamped 3 day juice detox and a 7 day juice detox too. There are evening soups included (which you can have at lunch instead of dinner if you wish). You also have a lemon, and 2 herbal tea bags (the only green tea I can drink) along with the flasks. Or you can check out www.naturaljuicejunkie.com or www.juicemaster.com for some inspiring juices and stories that you can make yourself from home. However, best you get them delivered and you can realx and not have to worry about anything and pampoer yourself with your spare time instead. Edited to add - Cafe Baroque charges AED500 for the 3 days and AWD1000 for the 7 days which I think is more vakue for money over detox delights, who I feel over charge (AED2500?) for what they offer. But its personal choice and this is just my opinion... And you have inspired me, Im off to book my 3 day juice detox starting tomorrow :)) edited by Fatexpatdxb on 16/09/2013

Was there this evening. Driving from Dubai the first exit after Marina was closed by Police and everyone was queuing (very badly) at the next junction. I suggest you go to the next junction and come back as if you were driving back from Dubai and take the exit after Jebel Ali Gardens back into Ibn Battuta. Park at Geant end up to the midway point only, the rest of the parking towards the cinema side are still flooded. When leaving DO NOT exit by the road that leads you to the Discovery Gardens side, it is closed and cars were doing 3 point turns and reversing back along the road, was pure chaos. We had to drive through high flooding (some minor damage to the front of the car) and then back the wrong way in the opposite directions to traffic and into some no entry signs, to drive through the car park back towards Geant side. It took some time to get through the traffic lights at Ibn Battuta Gate but we made it back onto SZR reasonably well. The toilets were all closed or closing inside the mall, water levels were rising and there was no water. Personally I would suggest avoiding Ibn Battuta until it is all sorted, people who live there (and there are LOTS) are still trying to get in and out, come the working week when people need to come and go at peak times, I dread to think what will occur. If you DO go, use the metro :)

Freezones dont provide labour cards - but you will be issued with a freezone ID which is the same as a Labour Card for on-shore visas. You can only have one labour card/Freezone ID at any time as you only have one Labour file with the Ministry of Labour. Additionally, if you get a freezone visa you may be restricted where you can work and invoice for payment - under the terms of a freezone you can only work legally in that zone and not outside of this - as I understand the UAE Government are going to be stepping up restrictions of freezone companies working in on-shore areas. It may be worthinvesting in the Investor Visa, as you have higher and less riskier earning potential, and you can also provide an Investor Visa to an employer to continue working in your current job - as long as they give advance permission i writing and it doesnt have any conflcit of interest. Your UAE sponsor can sign legal documents allowing you to work elsewhere under that Investor Visa also.

If you want to look at juicing for 3 days, or even 4, 5, 6, or 7 in one go - 5 juices/veg soups a day, scheduled around what you can/cannot do, let me know and I would be happy to share how I lost my weight. It takes 1 day of planning and organising (not the whole day), making the soups and freezing them, and if you can make the juices daily this is better (you will need a juicer but they are not that expensive and I can take you shopping if that helps too). I usually lose 4-6kgs each week (7 days) and then I still add in 1 juice and 1 soup each day and eat 'normal" or what I want for the rest of the time .... good luck, nothing worse than feeling down about yourself xx

Marina86, whatever you choose will be fabulous. There is never a wrong decision or a bad holiday, its what you make it. Time away from the real world is priceless. GO and enjoy. I would suggest if you are doing Alexandria first, fly to Beirut then onto Cyprus, maybe stopover there too. You cant rely on weather, just yourselves and the fact you will have a good time. Save Thailand for another time.... :)

Im an En Vogue convert and love it! The offers are well worth it, and the people watching makes the time go fast. This is not a sit back and relax kind of place, there is too much going on. The girls are great but are tired (Little voer worked but thats not any different to other places the same in the UAE!), the guys are cheeky and funny but good at what they do. You can chat if you want to, you can sit and read a book and not talk also, either way, its an experience and not a bad one. Ive had colour (lasted a long time), keratin (better than any of my friends who pay 4 times and more ....), my gellish nails last 2 weeks on average and normal mani/pedi is better than my previous exeperiences. And I always get parked out the front even if I leave my keys with Reception. If you live in the Marina its a great option as they are open really late, Ive had a few 10pm appointments and this fits in with my schedule. Its not for everyone and thank goodness it isnt, I generally get an appointment when I need it :) Im off to buy another Cobone (PS I also pay full price in between the vouchers)

Wendy is great at Bespoke at Emirates Golf Club. Tim at Dubai Physio and Family Medicine is also highly recommended.
