There system is total rubbish, I’ll share my experience with Dubai taxi. Two years back I had to book taxi from my office to residence, most the times I had to wait for hours because no driver was willing to accept system call because of small journey (20-22 AED fare), sometimes I observed 5-10 empty taxis downstairs but no one was willing to go also accept system call so I had to complaint customer service number just to make atleast one of the taxis willing to drop me, few times it happened that most of the empty taxis left the place when they saw I am calling and giving their details :( Finally I ended up with Dubai taxi and moved to private taxi, although it was illegal but much more punctual, hassle free and economical also. Concerned should have to make small change in their system for the convenience of people.

It’s safe to buy but I’ll not recommend to buy from Groupone especially, we have very bad experience with them. Better to call/email supplier directly and you might get further discount and service/delivery within no time without of any risk of money losing etc. http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=193780

@ Sue R & Laura: I partially agreed with you, if it’s mentioned that voucher will be sent within one week after deal end your point is valid but unfortunately there wasn't anything like that and their call center also acknowledged this. We have been using Groupon for a while but now decided to buy all the deals directly from supplier instead of wasting time in waiting etc. I don't know how should i say but their call center response was very pathetic. We purchased that online deal only because it wasn't mentioned that they will delay voucter even we talked to supplier before purchase and he was willing to deliver with no time. Today my husband went to their office and called police and then they give him voucher and their management excused for their mistake for ambiguous term and conditions. Now we'll never buy any deal from Groupon whatever the situation.

So decided to try them, Let’s see :)

You can get all these stuff from Meena Bazaar (Dubai) and Rolla (Sharjah). Both these places are full with required stuff.

It’s working fine with Standard Charted & Emirates NBD cards…I have very bad experience with EBay…ordered electronics products twice, first time it was fine but second time it was far different than description so advised to read/inquiry description before order.

wow lots of ideas thanks .... well he s a fishing ...water sport guy .. Hi Aline, Dubai is very good place to enjoy life if you are in gathering otherwise it’s same as compound life. This is my personal experience which I faced when I was alone. Anyway one guy from my contacts here in Dubai and he is also alone... If you will say then we can introduce them to enjoy their lives if you think it could work.

I am alone here in Dubai and all of my friends left for other countries due to job requirement. Appreciate if someone advise good places to visit for my case especially. I guess Dubai is worst place if someone is alone, although I have car but can’t go alone everywhere and really fed up of sitting in room and watching TV. If someone is alone like me and have little free time to move around in UAE/OMAN the please drop me a message at my email. (apnahassi at yahoo dot com)

Just try to solve this in a friendly way if possible for your own benefit. If you are terminated, I think you will be entitled a) to end of service gratuity b) termination pay And if you are to complain to labour office, you might get much less than you are entitled to, because they will consider the contract you signed with free zone, not the other one. It won't matter if you have bank statements to prove your bigger salary, your company will argue that it was bonus or something. One thing for sure, don't sign the paper that you received your dues until they pay you the complete amount (even if they say that they need it for visa cancellation purposes). Another thing and I am not sure, but they can't delay the salary - you could complain about it too. @ fandrew, dramaqn & mrswhippy : Many thanks for the reply, i really appreciate your sincere guidance. I do agree that my case is very complex due to two different contracts. I am really afraid that DMCFZ might not consider other contracts which i signed directly signed with company. My company kept renewing my contract after every six months and i have all the signed contracts, emails, bank statements etc. with me. Most probably DMCFZ will not support me as they have mentioned in their contract that neither party shall not claim the DMCFZ for any outstanding payment arising out of their contract Please suggest whether approaching Ministry of Labor or any other department can be useful. Appreciate your valuable feedback. BR, Fatima edited by fatimaali on 10/10/2012 edited by fatimaali on 10/10/2012
