Try Repton school. It opened last September, and I'm pretty sure it still has spaces. British curriculum. Otherwise, try Cranleigh which is due to open this September. Both schools have expensive fees though. And your 3 year old can start school in FS1. Good luck.

Hi Pauline, Where are you based? Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi has just had a tennis tournament with all of the big names. That would be a good place to check, depending on where you live.

Capilli beauty salon in Beach Rotana Hotel does excellent threading and is very reasonably priced. Just next door to Abu Dhabi mall.

That sounds amazing. What a difference from the classes of 30+ here in the UK! Thanks for the advice regarding the bank account. I am due to arrive this Saturday, so hopefully we will be able to meet in the playground one day or perhaps at a coffee morning. Co-incidentally, we have the same name, so i'm sure we'll stumble across each other at some point. I hope your son enjoys the induction day tomorrow, and that he has a happy start in his new school. Would love to know what you think of it next week, if you get a sec.... :))

Thanks Antonia. It's reassuring to hear that the assessment wasn't so scary. Will your son also be in FS2? Our children might be in the same class if my little one passes the test...I hope it's finished on time...I guess this time next week, we'll know for sure.

Hi everyone, I am due to arrive in Abu Dhabi from London very soon, and am quite nervous about the move. I have yet to secure a school place for my 4 year old, and wondered if anyone had heard anything about this new school, or what the assessment for an FS2 child might entail? Any advice about schools in Abu Dhabi would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
