Beware that dealers' loan are cheaper for a reason. They are backed by the car.The downside is you do not own the car so you need their approval to sell the car.It may cost you penalties for this (like an early loan redemption). If you have a personal loan from a bank on the other hand, the loan may be more expensive but you can sell the car at will as the personal loan means just that.It is not linked to a particular asset. My two cents is to read the loan agreement in details and understand what you are signing yourself for. Good luck.Loans are minefields.

As your car is less than 5 years, you could ask Nissan what they would offer for it. There are no valuation guides here like the Glass's book you are talking about. edited by fjcruiser on 08/07/2013

I should have added "in political science terms' as a reply to Irooni comments sorry about this. Shacks you are giving us the real picture of what is going on in Egypt. Thanks for that.It seems society is fractured along issues that were never issues before.I guess years of dictatorship have left deep marks. No one should expect things to go smoothly immediately.Hopefully civil war will be avoided.

A GP or Hospital in the UK would never turn away someone who ask for treatment as it is their duty to give assistance and against the medical deontology to refuse assistance. It would be up to admin to ask for proof of insurance or make sure patients who do not live in the UK are settling the bills. At the moment, there is nothing like this in place hence why tourism sickness is estimated to cost between 30 to 200Million pounds. The government is looking at it. The NHS is funded by NI contributions so it makes sense that non-residents even if British who do not pay NI should not have access to services. The reality is different as no one in the UK would dare ask if you have insurance and refuse you help if you don't.Some countries have such policies and do turn away uninsured patients. Not very ethical IMHO.

Hello I want to buy a new car, but don't know between Ford Edge sel or Lexus RX350 ? Thank you 2 very different cars with 2 very different budgets.Another good website to look at is yallamotor.com as it is reviewed by users.Resale value of Lexus is better than Ford but Lexus cost a fair deal new.Lexus service is excellent.Al Tayer is awful. You will have to use the dealer until your warranty runs out which is probably 5 years.Test drive them on SZR and secondary roads to check for handling, breaks.Interiors on Lexus are far better than Ford and it is reflected in the price. As far as service is concerned, Lexus is good value and no more costly than rip off Al Tayer. Ask each dealer for service intervals and costs.Good luck with your decision! edited by fjcruiser on 03/07/2013

There are many schools with English native speakers, not just Repton. What is important is the mix of kids your DD will be with. It is all well and good to have English native speakers, but if the majority of kids who attend the school do not have English as their first language, your daughter will end up speaking like the other kids.As far as exceptional music teacher is concerned, what do you mean by this ? after all you are talking about primary music classes not about Music school.'spoiled' children ? they are everywhere. You can just go and have a look at pick up time and decide for yourself. edited by fjcruiser on 29/06/2013 edited by fjcruiser on 29/06/2013

All schools have to turn a profit to survive in Dubai as they do not get grants from the government being international schools The so called 'non-profit' schools have been around for long, have a proven track record and are not the most expensive (although ASD is expensive). There are also so called 'profit' schools which are succesful, have been around a long time and don't charge the earth.I think what is important is to choose the right school for your kid.You would be lucky to be given a audit of the schools account if you asked for one! edited by fjcruiser on 29/06/2013 edited by fjcruiser on 29/06/2013

Normally your insurance will cover the replacement of your windscreen (minus a small excess perhaps) as your car is not safe while driven with a damaged windscreen. You should not loose your NCD.Look into your insurance booklet for details on windscreen repair.

In my opinion medication is essential in dealing with the symptoms of ADHD.Medication will deal with concentration, impulsivity and anxiety. As a result of medication, the child will be able to learn social skills, he will be able to improve on his academics resulting in a higher self esteem.Diet and different parenting will be useless on their own if the child cannot comprehend what is expected of him.A lot of people get scared about medicating their child with ADHD. If your child had type 1 diabetes, would you think twice about medicating ? No you wouldn't.Looking at diet is important of course. For me it is the fine tuning.I opted straight away for medication as I realised I would be able to implement new parenting skills far more easily with an attentive and happier child.

Look on Spinneys boards and Park N' Shop board.Sellers advertise their cars privately. Dubizzle is a good source too. When you call just say "I am calling about the car".If the reply is 'which car?" you know it's a dealer.

I want to buy one , but i want it to be with me for a long time , so which brand is easy to work and available to put a lot of lenses ? Go to camera shops and see for yourself. Hold the cameras, see if you can easily go through the features, check the feel and quality and then when you get home check the specs and reviews about a camera which you like.Despite reviews, recommendations and the likes, you will find that it is important that you feel comfortable holding the camera.Even cheaper cameras can take amazing shots nowadays. When 25 years ago, Nikon used to be the RRs of cameras, it is no longer the case and Canons have caught up with them just to give an example.Good luck with the search. With a DSLR and a lens such as a 18-55mm or 18-70mm you will not need anything else unless you decide to specialise in wild life photography for eg and require a longer lense (which means tripod too). From what I gather you are fairly new to photography.Enroll yourself on an online course (I just completed the UK Open University Course and it was brilliant-all I had ever done was taking photos with a DSLR on automatic before the course). My camera is a 2005 Nikon D70 with an 18-70mm lens.I have not bothered to buy another lens yet as the one I have covers most eventualities at the moment. I find myself taking a lot of photos using 35mm (equivalent to 50mm full frame). It means getting closer to your subject.A course will teach you that photography is not about just technology but what you can and want to achieve with what you have. Having to change lenses all the time is a pain as sometimes, spur of the moment photography is what you need to do. Also with the dust and sand here, changing lenses constantly is a problem.HTH Thanks a lot Fj for this advice , yes it's good idea with searching online and asking here too I want one to work with , but 1st of all to learn on it and continue , i dont want to change it , all i want is to to change lenses only edited by Anouja on 09/05/2013

There is also Universal American School in Festival City. They are IB accredited for primary, then it is US curriculum for the mid-years then IB for the last 2 grades. It is the furthest away from Internet City but you may decide to not to live there in which case UAS could be an alternative. Can you take it to the vet for a check up ?Here kittens are often small and look younger than they really are because of the poor nutrition. The ear clip would be quite obvious. If it is a female, the incision is on the side and fur would have been shaved. If it is a boy, you don't really see the castration to be honest. It looks like your kittie may have cut himself.

I would go with JPS. It is a not for profit school which makes a big difference. You can always choose Repton for secondary school if you a still here and it will be more established by then. And I think more than a few JAPS students got into DC this year. I had heard it was 11 or something like that. edited by plum2 on 27/04/2013 JPS which stands for Jumeira primary School is a profit school part of the GEMS group. JAPS is a non profit school (Jebel Ali Primary School).

Just to let you know I feel for you as I have a DS with special needs myself. Schools in Dubai do not cater for children with special needs. Some schools will accept your child on condition you have a shadow teacher and you will soon find out the person you pay to help your child is also used by the rest of the class! Although your child is only 4 years old so quite young to start school, you may look at having him home schooled if you cannot have him accepted at any schools in Dubai. Look at the K-12 program here in Dubai.www.k12.com.Good luck.

Last week my hubby and I both received a text message from Safedriver reminding us to book ahead. Without taking much notice, hubby dialed the highlighted number after our Friday night out and to our surprise got a lift no problem (usually a bit of a gamble at weekends). It was only today I realised that the driver that picked us up was a SAFE DRIVER and not the anticipated (used for 4 yrs) SafERdriver ! Now perhaps to many its not a problem but I am nothing if not loyal and if somebody provides me with good service, I think it only right that they get my repeat business in return. I do not think it is fair play for this other company to use such dirty tactics to get their competitors business, they have obviously stolen Saferdrivers contact list and are deliberately misleading them by these texts infact the whole company setup seems **** bent on putting Saferdriver out of business. Whoever is at the helm sounds like the dodgiest of characters and certainly NOT someone who's pockets I want to line. So please, if you are a long standing and happy customer of Saferdriver, check who you are booking with! Also let Saferdriver know about the scam. They may not have noticed yet.

The KHDA reports give some information but that's not enough to base your decision on IMHO for the reasons the previous poster mentioned. There is nothing like a ' best' school' in Dubai or elsewhere for that matter. It will depend on your child. The two you mentioned are 'profit' schools. There are also 'non profit' schools which have been in Dubai for a long time and never seem to attract negative comments. You may want to look at those first.

Fazza,I suggest you take the car for an inspection at the Tasjeel Registration Center in Barsha (the one off the Umm Suqeim Road). You do not need to book. Just turn up it will cost you 250dhs and takes about one hour. You will get a report with all the faults. You could also get the AAA to do an inspection. I do not know how much they charge but they are good people. I used to service my old Jaguar there and they always advised me properly. Faulty electrics are a known problem on BMWs and AAA has an electrician who will be able to tell if there are issues. Then have a word with 4 x 4 Motors.Good luck.

When you go to the dealer ask them for a good quote in case you decide to pay yourself. Then check with the insurance how much no claim you will loose and by how much your premium will go up by. And then see what's cheapest for you. Good luck.

Have a look at K-12 in Knowledge Village. Block 12.First Floor. Tel +97144401212. They are recognised by the Ministry of Education. Your DD could go there for a year or more till she is ready to move back to a regular school. K-12 offer several options to cater to the child needs. My DS goes there as he is special needs but other are there for other reasons, such as coming from another non English speaking country or because they arrived half way through a school year as there was no spaces available in regular schools. Good luck.Do not leave your DD out of school for more than 21 days as it would make it difficult for her not to have to repeat a year, The Ministry of education is quite strict on this.Good luck.

There is no hard and fast rules about that one. This student may have joined from a country where the school year does not start in September so she would be in tune with her old system and not the system here. She may come from say a private UK school where students are allowed to be kept a year back if they are young for their age perhaps. She may have had an illness forcing to her re-sit a year. There are many reasons why someone would not be in the same age group than the rest of the class. What is a year in a lifetime ?

Banks use agencies who specialise in debt recovery. I have no idea what the minimum debt is but a few months ago the police turned up at someone's home in the UK.He had a debt of less than 30,000dhs.If there are more than one to go about prosecuting, it is worthwile for the banks to go even for the small fish. It all adds up in the end.As a result of these absconders, those left here end up paying more to borrow money.

From the EK website :contact the Drug Control Department (DCD) of the Ministry of Health to check whether your medication is on the controlled list. The DCD can be contacted at +971 2 611 7342, by e-mail ([email protected]) or by fax +971 2 631 3742. The list is updated monthly. It does say that Tramadol is on the controlled list which means not only you have to have a copy of the prescription but often other attestations are also required which of course your MIL will not have time to have done if she is flying tomorrow. Give the number above a call at least to put your mind at rest. edited by fjcruiser on 08/03/2013
