have a look at airbnb- have used them myself all over Sydney and my parents found some gorgeous accomodation in Cremorne through it when they came to visit me there. Would definitley recommend Cremorne, my parents loved it and views of the harbour and bridge are fab! I used to live in Milsons Point and Kirribili, which are great areas and in walking distance of the bridge (literally 2 mins away)- I know you can walk down to Luna Park to watch teh fireworks from there for free but people start heading down there at lunchtime, thats how busy it gets! McMahons point is also fantastic views but a lot of buildings in that area require guest passes aswell.

I went to Vietnam in 2010 and just got back from Cambodia a couple of weeks ago and didn't take malaria tablets and am abseloutley fine :) I had to have Yellow Fever to go to Tanzania a while ago so was covered for that already but I wasn't asked for any documentation for it in either Vietnam or Cambodia. Unless you're heading to the rural/delta areas, as some of teh otehr ladies have said I don't believe they are high risk. Both amazing countries- enjoy your trip :)

Hi Sunandstars, Try Snoopy Pets the pet relocator- I saw their FB page the other day and believe can take care of everything for you, so they should be able to help. Good Luck and enjoy Switzerland!

Thanks for your replies- much appreciated :) Geordie1, great- I'll have a look on there see whats coming up. Hi ShellAR, that sounds perfect, exactly what I'm looking for and I love keeping fit :) I'd love to join you- the barbie hash and parties sound fun too and seems a great way to meet new people, which I've been finding hard :) Only problem is I don't finish until 5.30 on a Sunday so will be free from 5.45? I'll have a look on the site but Can you still go to things like Barbie hash if can't make the Sunday? Thanks!

Haha Iveranodxb, That's what i was thinking seeing how the driving is over here! Did you have a male or female instructor? Think I'll go for Emirates, seems quite expensive but one of these things that once its done its done :)

Hi Jess, How are you finding it? I've been working here for 3 months and am 23 soon but unfortunately cant make a lot of the coffee mornings due to work! I love Dubai but finding it quite hard to meet people of a similar age- I'd love to try and organise something if you and anyone else is keen? Geordie1, Ive heard of Meet up- I used it in Australia and it was great and met some really great lifelong friends from there, have you been to any in Dubai?

Thanks for the replies and congratulations on passing poojak. Geordie1, maybe it is a geordie thing as I'm also from Newcastle! sorry to hear about back home but fingers crossed you'll get passed soon- Sounds like Emirates is the best option? I've heard it takes 40 (1/2 hour) sessions before your test?!

Hi Ladies, Have you looked on GulfTalent.com? I was really lucky and managed to get something within 3-4 weeks of coming in May through putting my CV on GulfTalent and a recruiter contacting me through there. There's some good ones on EW Jobs site too! Good Luck- I'm hope you'll get something soon :)

Morning, I know I may be crazy but looking to learn to drive here in Dubai in the next couple of weeks. Just wondering if anyone has done it and can recommend any driving schools? I've heard the main ones are Emirates Driving School and Belhasa?? Any tips appreciated :) Thanks!

Can't comment on Coventry either, but have a lot of friends who studied at Northumbria and loved it- Newcastle's a great city for students :)

Why not try Allied Pickfords? They've got an office in Doha now and based on my experience are fantastic and similarly priced to Crown. Haven't heard of Writer though

Hi Kewlzany, If you are still looking to foster a cat we have 2 abandoned kittens that we are looking after while we look for a permanent loving home for them- they're very cute and playful- one boy, one girl, black and white, about 1 month- 5 weeks old now and coming along really well :) Let me know if you'd be interested- we're keen to find a cat lover to give them a good home :)

Thanks for all the replies ladies- it was lovely to meet Laura today and so glad we've managed to get someone to help these babies :) Sue, we're in the first block of the Al Bada'a villas which is not Emirates, so I can't get onto the Facebook page unfortunately! If you know any of the Emirates ladies who are cat lovers can help, please pass on the message :)

Thanks- thats what I thought! Don't think a cattery will take them as been advised by a vet they are too light at the minute to have their injections. Just need someone to come in for 3 days while we're away as don't want to leave them :( Do you know any fellow animal lovers who would be willing to do this? Any suggestions at all are much appreciated. edited by fran22 on 01/08/2013

Hi Splinter, I've never heard of them- can you just get them at a pet store? As I say, never had cats before so just running off advice! Do you think they'd be ok considering the kittens are only around 2-3 weeks old?

Hi Sarahjane01, Thanks- Sorry for the late reply- unfortunately not :( We're happy to keep them after Eid until we find a full time home for them, but all we need is someone to come into our garage and feed them Fri, Sat, Sun next week? We'll provide food and water, literally all someone would have to do is top up their bowls, will take 5 mins each day and we're willing to cover any transport costs to Al Bada'a (near Al Wasl Park, Jumeirah 1/also near Satwa Road) Is there anyone willing to help??? :(

Hi Sarahjane01, Thanks for the reply. We've never had cats before so simply going off the advice off others- any tips are much appreciated. I've had no luck with Feline Friends (don't even answer the phone as they're so full its just an automated message) or 38 smiles, but will try Bin Kitty see if they can help. They're still tiny and seem to be playing together fine, but the lady at 38 smiles just estimated they're about 3 weeks old. Does anyone know of anyone who can pop by to feed them for 3 days? We don't want to leave them on their own.

Assisi, perhaps you could pass on the details of the others who were interested in Blue as they may be interested in the abandoned kittens ? :)

Great news that you were able to help Blue OzFamily and I hope it works out with your dog (we have a male maltese so am interested in how they adapt to each other) :) I've put an advert on the forum as I've found two abandoned kittens in our garage a couple of days ago (very cute, black and white only a couple of weeks old) am looking for a new home for them too if anyone is reading this and able to help like OzFamily was?
