Hi - try Dr. Ibrahim at City Hospital, I saw on this forum someone saying that he only does C-sections. Also City Hospital has a very good reputation.

Hi, I got offered the NIPT test when I went to confirm my pregnancy... this was at Mediclinic at the Dubai Mall and they quoted AED3000. I thought about it and in the end decided not to do it, I have since had my 12 week NT scan and this was fine. Good luck in deciding...it really is a personal preference and there are many factors which might sway you one way or another. Also if you are desperate to find out the gender they can tell you for sure if you do this test... although when I went for my 12 week scan they were able to tell me then, although only 80% sure.

Personally I think living in the Marina and having your kids commute every day to Silicon oasis would be a pain...even on a good day it would be at least 40 minutes but during school terms the traffic getting into Silicon Oasis is very busy. I live in Falcon City which is close to Silicon oasis and The Villa Community and although I don't have children I get caught in the school traffic every morning so I know that this is an issue. Also even if they get the bus from the Marina they will end up having to get up really early and be on the bus for approx 90 minutes..maybe longer as the bus will no doubt have to pick up more Children en-route. Far better for you to live close to the school and your husband can get a car and drive to work...he will not want to be using the metro in the summer...even the shortest of walks will be unpleasant in 40 to 50 degree weather. I know that plenty of families live in Silicon oasis, The Villa, Falcon City & Arabian Ranches and send their kids to Gems. The Marina is great, but you can visit at weekends and I would think it is far better to live somewhere where you have more space and it is not so busy....every night there are queues to get into the Marina! Anyway just a personal opinion of course but just wanted to highlight the journey time really...the less time stuck on roads the better !

So I thought I would update my own post as I am now seeing Dr Johanna Mulder at City Hospital and I can highly recommend her. She is incredibly kind and caring and takes the time to explain everything to you, she is very calming so if you are at all anxious she is wonderful. I was referred to the Genesis clinic next door to City Hospital for my 12 week NT scan and saw Dr. George - again it was a great experience and I can highly recommend the clinic and Dr. George. Their facilities are first class and Dr. George takes the time to explain everything during the scan and I was amazed at what could be seen at such an early stage of pregnancy.
