Hey Eden, Thanks for the suggestion, but we actually have a mothercare here in Green community. It was them that checked and said the only mothercare that stocked the nipple shields was in Dubai Mall. How convenient it would have been otherwise! Thank you anyhow and keep the suggestions rolling. :)

I know it is exciting. I've got 17 days to go, so strictly an August mum, but I really can't wait now. I'm finding the weight, the swollen ankles and bubs habit of pressing on the sciatic nerve all a bit draining, so it can't happen soon enough! Is anyone else feeling like this?

At my antenatal class they said they would let you give birth to a breech baby ONLY if you had had a successful vaginal birth previously. As it's your first they wouldn't let you try. Obviously with a transverse baby, there is no chance. Good luck with the turning I hope it works out. When is your due date? I'm due 26th Aug with my first. :)

The Oman Dive Centre has a gorgeous beach and a bar, tho it's probably too hot for this time of year. All the restaurants at the Chedi are fab and they have a lovely seafood restaurant at the Shangri La. Trader Vics at the Intercon is also a good option. If you're after culture, the Grand mosque there is gorgeous, open from 8am-11am daily (except fridays). You will have to cover up and wear a head scarf. They don't provide any, so take your own. The souks are also great, but will be sweltering at this time of year. You will however be able to bargin hard as they won't have many customers. Word of warning, all shops and the souk shut between 1 and 4/5pm, so no point trying to do anything between these hours. Also if your trip is in Ramadan then everywhere is dry, possibly with the exception of the hotel in which you are staying.

I'm finding it difficult to find neutral coloured outfits (haven't found out the ***) in Dubai. Think I'll buy one pink outfit and one blue anyway! I have way too many neutral baby grows in newborn and 0-3 months if you need any. All donations from other mums. I was looking at them the other day wondering how on earth they were all going to get worn!

How is everyone feeling about labour? Is anyone else absolutely freaking out about the thought of pushing a baby out? I havent quite come to peace with the whole process and am terrified of it all ...........:\::\: I think the idea of it freaks everyone out, it's the not knowing what to expect. Has anyone else found that other people seem to like telling you horror stories the closer you get? I just figure that there is nothing we can do to avoid giving birth, so there's not too much point worrying about it. Everyone else gets through it and so will we. The best advice I've been given about labour is to be as prepared as possible and to learn all the breathing techniques either through ante-natal classes or pregnancy yoga. I also plan to take all the pain relief that I'm allowed!

direct2dubai replied : Hi gcommumtobe. we both have the same due date....i'm expecting a girl and also my first pregnancy. I'm in Australia and will be delivering here. Don't think I would've managed the Dubai heat while pregnant. Hi direct2dubai, we'll have to compare notes when you get back! How soon after the birth are you planning to return? :)

Hey everyone, just thought I'd join in although strictly I'm due Aug (26th). For anyone who's worried about putting on weight I think it varies from person to person. I'm nearly 27 weeks with my first baby and so far I've put on over 10kg. At the docs on tues she said I was very healthy and was doing everything right. I would love to meet up with other mums who are due at the same time, as it's so reassuring to share experiences. :)

Just thought I'd add that Janvin in Karama do good quality and are usually reasonable prices. I pay from 200 aed for a clutch to between 270-500 aed for a bag. They have a good choice in their main store and have more choice if you ask! Also, I have travelled frequently with my fakes and have never been questioned about them. Enjoy.
