Thanks all. Can't tell you how grateful I am for some clarity!! Really does make me wish we'd got married in UK!!! But then again, it's nice to have the incredible memories of our 4 day party with 70 of our nearest and dearest in that magical city!! Yes, I had thought about just getting married again but not feasible with time frames! Just can NOT get hold of anyone at CZH embassy- all just automated info which doesn't help me at all!! Thanks- will keep trying! X

hi we will be letting our lovely house help from Nepal go in May next year... she has been with us for four years and is very hardworking, diligent and takes excellent care of my kids... however she is now looking for a higher salary than we can afford to spare at this stage so if you would want to consider her I'm more than happy to recommend her (though she's only available from 7th of May). We are arriving at new year with a view to looking for a maid after a few months so beginning of May would probably be about right. I wouldn't want to commit in case things change but would be interested in finding out a bit more. She sounds lovely. Is she live in or out? What salary is she looking for etc... Thanks

Hi there, I know that coming from the UK, degree certificates must be notarised by a solicitor before the attestation process can begin. My question is, do children's birth certificates also have to be notarised in the same way it can you just post them straight off for attestation? Thanks

Thanks for the response. That's interesting Veela... Does he have other Dads in the same boat to socialise with? Is the perception of stay at home Dads positive enough?

I too would love to see some evening and short weekend meetings. I am moving to Dubai in January into a busy senior job and would love the opportunity to meet ladies in a similar situation. I often feel left out of "Mummy stuff" here in the UK because of my working hours so would love to feel more integrated in that respect when moving to Dubai. I have found this site/forum so helpful with regards to finding info about all kinds of subjects and would love to use it as a channel for making new friends. I'm not (all that) young either so going out to bars every weekend with colleagues is out of the question (sadly!!!). Thanks
