yeah spoken to Al Yasmina who state she's eligible but there are full and there is a waiting list! in the uk she wouldnt be starting school til Sept 2013 as she isnt 4 til October, so suppose no harm done her attending a nursery again for another year, just would've been nice as she is so switched on and ahead of herself think it would have done her good. any good suggestions for Nursery's in the area too?

thanks....do you have any idea of how difficult/easy it'll be to get her into Al Yasmina in September....is it likely to happen or not? (dont want to get my hopes up) are there any 'social' groups to attend for meeting others?

once again thanks for the reply, things are going to be moving very quickly for us, hubby is on his way back after spending a week in abu dhabi checking over contracts etc. looks like im going to get a visit over a week on monday to help decide on where we're going to live and we'll be in country by 1st April. I had my 20 week scan today- found out we're having a little boy, but also that placenta is lying low and partially covering cervix....nhs are going to scan me again in 5 weeks to see if any change just so i know where we're at once we get over. this is stressing me a little and so mind is racing re selecting a hospital/doctor etc.....think we're going to be living somewhere near Raha beach, or Kalifa A....any suggestions or recommendations to get me started?:(

thanks ladies, you've certainly helped with the decision whether to get stuff before the move, think i'll be stocking up here and shipping it all courtesy of hubby's company! he's visiting next week and has a list of things to check prices of, but are we talking more/less/the same kind of prices for things such as Nappies/Wipes....formula (should we need it?) whats the score with breastfeeding- im making the assumption it isnt the done thing in public in Abu Dhabi? Kie- you mentioned Next (one of my favourite stores) whats the range like over there? and again prices....gosh i have loads of questions and am just itching to have the answers. V excited about it all. find out next week where we'll be living etc.........

Hi, we are about to move out to Abu Dhabi around the end of March and im just trying to find out a few things, hopefully you ladies will be able to guide me. Firstly- we need new nursery furniture as baby no 3 due in July but baby no 2 will only be 14 mth and still requires cot etc....what are the prices like over there. There is a cot/day bed i have my eye on which is £240 here in the UK, aleady discovered that items in Ikea can be cheaper over in UAE than UK so was thinking may be the same with M and P? also, what is stock range like-can i get pretty much everything id be able to get in UK? in addition to this, i've been reading a few threads and seems a nightmare trying to decide where to have baby....which hospital etc! I've been used to midwife led care with first 2 babies and all this talk of doctors etc seems very clinical. does anyone have home births, water births etc.......

hi there, i've just joined the site as we are expecting to be moving to Abu Dhabi at the end of March due to hubby's work (although not that far away we still dont have an exact date-v frustrating) im 18 weeks with 3rd baby but feeling bit odd about the unknown that is new country and all that comes with it, never mind choosing hospital/doctor etc. with my last 2 pregnancies everything has been straight forward and i have been midwife led care only. id wanted water birth last time but couldnt have one due to meconium (baby poop) in waters when they broke.....i've noticed nobody on these sites have mentioned water births....is this something that doesnt happen out there (or home births?) god i have sooooooo many questions......
