Hi Angie28, a German mum I know was trying to sell hers (grey & black color) for AED 400 a week ago. I could check with her if she still has it. Let me know.

Hi glowingcandle, have you tried Pottery Barn Kids? They do embroidering, you have to buy the blanket at their store but they usually have a good selection.

Hi UAE2012, congratulations on having a little girl! Mine are 4 and nearly 1 year already - time flies! I am German so might not be too much help with Arabic names but a good friend of mine called her daughters Salma and Hannah which I quite like. I also like Lina, Mila and Leila (not sure if that's an Arabic name). Good luck on finding the right name, it took me a long time for my second girl but I am very happy with our choice ;o) Take care

Hi little_zuzu, I live in Arabian Ranches so not to far from DSO. Used to see Dr Anil Gupta at the Ranches Clinic, he is quite good. He is however on Holidays at the moment and I had to find another paed due to both of my girls being pretty sick. Went to see Dr Omaima Ataya at medicentres in Motorcity and cannot praise her high enough - she is very thorough & calming and does only prescribe medicine if really needed.

Hi sherryd, my dd is 8,5 month old and even though she is a very good eater she tends to stick to the same food in the evenings. I guess the more tired they are, the more difficult it is to feed them new food/textures etc. She is very adventurous in terms of food during the day but not when she is tired. Her routine is the following: wake up around 6:30am - 1 full bottle of formula little breakfast around 8am: Wetabix with some milk, banana pieces or porridge morning nap from around 8:30am-10:30am lunch at 11am: Veggies or veggies & meat with either potato, rice or pasta afternoon nap from around 2-4pm 1 full bottle of formula when she is up dinner at 6:30pm (can't do it any later as she would refuse to eat when she is too tired): she loves Holle 5 grain porridge or spelt porridge which I mix with her formula and some fruit bath with her older sister at 7pm 1 small bottle of formula before bedtime fast asleep by latest 8pm My older dd has always been a very difficult eater so I am pleased that dd2 is not (so far, I keep my fingers crossed!). But they both do not experiment with new food in the evenings. Maybe try to find some food that she likes / which is easy on the stomach and give it to her for dinner. And maybe introduce new food slowly and not something new every single day. Hope I could help a little. Good luck with it all & have a nice day

My 3,5 year old DD has started with Hamilton Aquatics in Feb, they do different locations in Dubai, we are going to the pool at GEMS in Silicon Oasis. It's a 19 week course with 30mins per week for AED 1100 (max 3 toddlers per class) and they are doing a great job! She swims herself now and is getting better and better with the techniques every day,

Hi carpediem, we live in Palmera 4 which is the first Palmera community as you drive in from the Studiocity roundabout. If I could choose again, I would move to Palmera 1 or 2 as they are much quieter (away from the road that connects Emirates Road and Bypass Road). Our villa is facing that road and in can get quite loud with all the big truck passing through. Palmera 4 is probably the most noisy and Palmera 1 the most quiet. Saying that, Palmera 3 has the mosque opposite... Best thing I think is to do a walk alongside the Palmera communities so that you get a good picture of what you like / dislike. In terms of layout / playground / pool they are all pretty much the same I think. Good luck, we love living here!

Hi October ladies, how are you all doing? I'm due on 4th Oct with my 2nd girl (1st is 3.5 yrs). Have been blessed with a very easy pregnancy so far but am suffering from LOTS of bad heartburn at the moment. Not really sure what to do about it, milk doesn't seem to help much :o( Is anyone of you living in or near the Ranches and fancies a swim one afternoon? Take care and good luck to all of you!

Depending on how much you want to spend, they sell wooden playpens at Premaman (Dubai Mall, top floor) - they deliver and build it up for you too.

I worked it out similar to HKA. My girl was around 2 when she was dry during the day, requested about 4 month later not to wear nappies during the night. For the first 6 weeks I put her on the potty before I went to bed around 11ish, until she complained half-sleeping that she does not want to pee. Same for the next 5 nights or so, she was sitting on the potty and said she does not need to. I stopped putting her on the potty and she has been dry ever since. Good luck!

Hi YJB, I am with Dr Elsa at City Hospital and was told by her that she does not do the NT scan and had to go to FMC instead. I had a good experience there, the lady who did the scan was very nice and explained lots of stuff to me which I had never been shown when I was pregnant with my first kid in the UK 3 years ago. Only the doctor who then explained the results of the scan and blood test to me was a bit weird but all in all I had a good impression of FMC. Same goes for the Anomalie scan at 20 weeks, City does not do it and I have to go to FMC instead. Good luck with your pregnancy!

Hi sallystreet, I have no idea. Just know that Chamas, the Brazilian restaurant at the InterContinental Abu Dhabi has it. Maybe it's worth getting in touch with the Chef to see who their supplier is?

Take the first meet they bring and should they come with chicken or so again then just say: thanks, we wait for the next round or: are you serving any beef as well? Don't be shy, it works :o)))

Make sure you send the waiters away who bring the cheap stuff (chicken, turkey etc) and go for the beef options :o) They always come with chicken for the first couple of rounds so you get full before the really good things come. Enjoy, its delicious!!

Good morning ladies, Could anyone suggest a reliable and trustworthy babysitter who is willing to babysit in Arabian Ranches? My daughter is 2,5 years old and will be in bed before we leave. Thank you!
