One thing I do is when it's pay day withdraw my monthly expenses and put it in the safe in envelopes - one for food, one for petrol, one for utilities. I go shopping once a week and spend the relevant amount out of the envelop. That way it up is easier to keep track of your spending - don't use cards as it is easier to lose track.

Thank you sandfly. I rescued him, we love him very much. Until a year a go we lived in a villa but had to move to dubai and we are now in an apartment. He is very active and playful, he plays fetch! He needs outside space, we have even been looking at new accommodation to suit him but can not guarantee we will get the space we need when we come to move. I just worry something would happen, which would be accidental. I thought possibly a family might be best for him, a family who could love him as we do. I do not see him as disposable at all. I have a 17 year old cat who lives with my parents. I had no way of foreseeing the future and circumstances. I think some of the responses have been a dig at me with no real consideration of theOP which was concerning the wellbeing of both cat and baby. edited by Mau10 on 19/01/2013 Just a question that I have. Why are you looking for a new home for the cat? Is it because of the baby as stated in your first post? Or is it because you cannot offer the outdoor space? If it is the latter, then maybe wait until you are settled (you indicate that you are moving) as then you will know for sure if you can provide a garden. If it's the baby, then cats easily adapt to new babies and vice versa. As long as you "train" the cat and baby all should be fine. Growing up with pets is a lovely experience.

With regards to insurance have you tried Axa here? If you buy a policy now, you are a resident of GCC....

Why is everyone getting on their high horse about it? We're the offending burgers discovered in their CANTERbury store? I don't want to know from secondhand sources, I want it straight from the horses mouth. Seriously, they should stick to the same recipie as you don't want to change horse mid race. If nobody buys them they could give them away as people shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth.

I canter understand what all the fuss is about. But I'm sure the bad publicity will be a bit of a mare for Tesco.
