Firstly OP I am so sorry that happened to your DS, it's so upsetting and frustrating when they are hurt intentionally. Perhaps you can now reinforce ways he can stand up for himself that yourself and DH deem appropriate (I'm sure you already have) but maybe get him to do roll play with your DH so he builds more confidence when confronted by teasing/bullying. With a bleeding nose there wasn't much he could do but perhaps so he feels more equipt to deal with the jibes in future. Good luck :) Joyce you have a gorgeous accent :)

If DesertBeauty has an alternative maid in place before Jan I would be keen to meet your maid JJBAUS! We are looking to replace ours in Dec/Jan but would need someone great with kids as I'm going back to work in April. Of course this is only if Desertbeauty isn't interested xx

Hi JJ, 8 kgs is my weight gain too lol! I'm just thinking it'll all go back to normal in a few months & I'll have a awesome little baby out of it ? I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes with my first (borderline) and I didn't even eats sweets or chocolate! If I find a remedy of any form for the pelvic pain I will let you know, I've been told by so many people that more padded or shock absorbing shoes will help. DH just got me these thick gel insoles so I will let you know if they help xx

Hi ladies! How is everyone keeping? I've had to slow down a bit as my lower back & pelvis are really uncomfortable if I walk any length :( Dr says its normal for 2nd pregnancies and just the relaxin working softening the bones. Is anyone else having any other fun symptoms? Hope everyone is taking care and enjoying their bumps :) xxx

I had this issue last year and yes of course I addressed it.. carefully. When was the last time any of us wore fishnet stockings for any other reason than the obvious! They have not even been fashionable in such a long time & it's summer lol! It is also Ramadan so if I saw someone walking around the mall etc wearing fishnets it would stike me as inappropriate.

Yeah I knew I wanted Dr Ibrahim at City before I even fell pregnant ? my previous delivery wasn't ideal (whose is!) so I started researching & asking other mums after DS1 was born, I'm really comfortable with him. My anatomy scan is on the 13th, can't wait to see bubs again! I'm in Downtown & thinking of trying prenatal yoga if anyone has any recommendations? I had sciatica with last pregnancy & can feel it happening again ? hope all you other mums are keeping well xxx

We got a camera installed ( Foscam Pro from Amazon) and left a checklist she had to complete everyday including activities, nap times etc. Also making his meals and freezing them on my day off helped so I knew he was eating properly and the remote controls for the TV are not available when we aren't home. Good luck and enjoy being back at work :) edited by Gilly3 on 05/06/2014

Love him to bits and I'm very lucky however ;) 1) Puts his dirty clothes on the lid of the laundry basket never inside. 2) Googles stuff to prove he is right during a discussion. 3) Lies around until I'm ready to walk out the door & then needs a drink, toilet, brush teeth etc 4)Chews so flaming loudly! 5) Jiggles his big feet in bed at night making the whole bed shake 6) Keeps cables for everything electrical he has ever owned I feel great getting that off my chest :)

Walkers crisps with horseradish sauce, cheddar cheese with onion and tomatoe sauce, hot options include macaroni cheese sandwiches and sausage roll sandwiches ( still in pastry) with tomatoe sauce. I just loved bread when I was wee!! :)

Hi LAD! Welcome & congratulations :) I also had some nausea this time around which I didn't have with my DS, glad that's gone lol! EmberElftree:- You must be so excited for your first scan! Yes, it's necessary to have a full bladder, last time I would down lots of water in the waiting room in case they were running late & I was stuck with a full bladder! JJBAUS:- You've just made me hungry again :) I'm definatly pinching your salad ideas yum! I think I've been reading too many articles on what I shouldn't eat, is anyone else paranoid about that? Xx

Hi ladies! I'm happy to report that my nausea has finally subsided :) 9 weeks 1 day! I am still inhaling the carbs & look like I have developed a pizza/pasta bump yikes! How is everyone keeping? My DH has been getting a little too involved in keeping me healthy & has even drawn up a daily checklist of things I should be doing and consuming lol! Bless his heart but all I want to do is eat my toast in peace ;) big hugs to you all & hope everyone is feeling better xxx edited by Gilly3 on 18/04/2014

When I was pregnant with my DS I was shocked by the lack of stylish maternity wear available, my intention was to channel Nicole Richie/Jessica Alba, this did not happen :) Since then I put together a small range of beautiful, flattering pieces. I was intending on having a few sample pieces made to see what the reaction is before committing myself financially, does anyone have experience relating to sourcing manufactures/good quality fabrics? It doesn't necessarily have to be in Dubai, TIA ladies

Hi ladies! I just wanted to update in case anyone else has similar symptoms. I received my blood test results it turns out my ASO levels were high and a side effect of this is painful joints. So apparently my body is fighting something Strep related and doing a good job it seems :) I just have to have more tests every few weeks to ensure the levels don't rise again and thankfully this won't affect my pregnancy xgx

Anon I feel your pain, I had the same issue and my LC recommended rinsing after every feed and applying a small amount of nipple cream mixed with either olive oil or breast milk and go bra less when you can. TBH I sent DH to the shop for Avent nipple shields and never looked back, they were a blessing to me. Wishing you the very best and hope it gets less painful soon xx

Being reasonable you have two choices either look for an apartment with maids room or partition a section in your daughters room to accommodate the maid. The kitchen floor regardless of how many people do it is disgraceful!

My husband is the fussiest eater on the planet, he won't even consider eating a vegetable or seafood. His diet is basically carbs & protein! He is talking about being hypnotized as he is aware of the health implications and growing tired of my nagging I assume lol! Has anyone had treatment for this kind of thing? TIA

I think there's no harm in getting a camera. We have one purely for a bit of reassurance, my nanny knows it's there of course. It's better to prevent something from happening at your home than find out about it later.

Congratulations to you!! :) I went to the doctors who prescribed magnesium sachets & advised to take Tylenol for the pain, she also took 2300dhs worth of tests which was a shock as my insurance only covers inpatient! I'll get the results in a few days so will let you know but I'm certain it's nothing to worry about just uncomfortable as heck! Congrats again x

I'm only 5 weeks pregnant with my 2nd bub which I am so delighted about!! :) However the joints and ligaments in my knees, hips, ankles and lower back are extremely painful. It's a similar sensation to the pelvic pain I had much later in my last pregnancy. Has anyone else experienced this, particularly so early? Any tips on treatment would be greatly appreciated! TIA ladies

Hi Jupiter, I had the same surprise when I was pregnant with DS. The statistics seem to vary & treatment/ medication really depends how high your readings were. I had fairly mild GD so I had to measure my blood sugar before & after every meal. Mine was diet controlled ie being wary of portion sizes of carbs, sugar etc, I didn't struggle with the diet change as carbs are my nemesis anyway ;) My DS was a healthy 3.85kgs and my delivery was fine (as fine as it can be!) I know it's stressful & hugs to you maybe talk to your Dr about your concerns and ask for a diet plan x

Thankfully we have cameras and great neighbours! I asked her a few weeks ago about her having boyfriend and she told me she had one but it wasn't anything serious & was finished. After picking myself up from the floor we discussed what was acceptable for us and she huffed a little but seemed agreeable. Myself and my husband both travel a lot for work and until recently she was a God Send.

Yesterday I had to speak with my maid about the way she has been dressing. It's has gotten progressively worse over the last couple of months with her choice of outfits getting shorter & tighter, make up during working hours etc. She is taking care of my LO while I'm at work & it's not what we felt appropriate. She has never taken feedback well and has given me a note with her resignation! We only renewed her contract in Feb & she wants us to remain in Dubai apparently, I'm a bit shell shocked tbh as we have been incredibly good to her and she's really leaving us in the lurch! Anyway can anyone advise me of our rights in this situation, the Embassy is closed today & I'm all over the place. TIA
