I was told I had a blighted ovum at 6 weeks. I had bleeding too. My blighted ovum is now a year old and currently lying beside me. Never give up hope x

At the risk of being unpopular I actually hate the Dubai marathon! As a working mum the only chance of a lie in is at the weekend. If it is as loud as last year then this will be impossible. It was blaring from 6.00am last year!! I suppose it is only once a year ;) Best of luck to all the athletes taking part tomorrow though!

Hi Flydiver. I really hope everything works out for you. I had 2 miscarriages which started like this. Heartbreaking. However, I had a heavy red bleed when I was 8 weeks pregnant last year. I passed several clots. Was ready for bad news. No cramping though. Had a scan and everything was fine. My daughter is now ten months old. I still don't know what happened and neither did my doctor. I don't want to give you false hope and waiting is awful but hang in there. You might get good news. If you don't get good news, I got pregnant immediately after a miscarriage with my daughter. Apparently you are very fertile after a miscarriage. Praying for you xx

I have the Boba 3G and I love it. It has a pocket in front for phone, keys, money etc and a hood to support baby's head when sleeping. I believe the Boba 3G is a little bigger than the Ergo. I chose it as it had better reviews but have heard great things about the Ergo too. Boba is suitable from newborn and you don't need an infant insert. Hth x

I got mine from the UK but to be honest found it no better than regular creams. Coconut oil is just as good and suitable for cloth nappies. You can get it in the Organic Cafe in Dubai mall and most supermarkets. HTH. Good luck with nappies! Best decision we made :)

Hi. I use washables on DD. Have been using them since birth and she is 9 months old. I just use a white bin with a lid from Ikea. They come in all sizes. I use a large one for rinsed nappies waiting for the wash and a smaller one to throw poopy nappies in until I get a chance to rinse them. My bins don't lock but they are great and as they are white they blend in quite well in my bathroom! :) edited by gingercat on 06/12/2012

I just wanted to say it's a super breastpump. I pump twice a day in work and get 15-18oz altogether. Easy to clean and is a closed system which means your milk never comes in contact with tubing. X

Hello there, I have recently (1 week ago) moved to Dubai (Exec towers) and would love any advice on breastfeeding in public. I have been told that it is not accepted in public and can only be done in the mom and baby bathrooms. Does this include being covered? Would love to chat to anyone in the same area. Still new to EW so getting to know all the in's and out's :) Hello there! I live in Executive Towers and have a 7 month old baby girl. I am also breastfeeding and have never had any issues here at all. How old is your LO? X

My LO is almost 6 months old and I only have had one baby but my experience is.....at 8 weeks old my LO was feeding constantly and some days actually seemed as though she never left my boobs... I was convinced this was not normal. However after getting advice from my sister I just kept feeding on demand. From my experience, breastfeeding is not the same for everyone. My LO is only developing a bit of a pattern now...a gap of between 2 and 3 hours between each feed day and night. She is a very content baby and a healthy 20 lb now!! Just listen to your baby and feed as often as necessary. Adding formula can affect your milk supply-the more baby is at the breast, the more milk you will produce. Pumping will never extract as much milk as a baby will so don't be concerned if you are not pumping much. You are doing a great job and should be very proud of yourself. Kiwispiers gives great BF advice. Good luck!! xx edited by gingercat on 28/08/2012

Btw I use the Ameda Lactaline Double Electric pump and I love it! Its super efficient and easy to clean. It cost 800 dhs, and they do home delivery for a small additional fee (mine was 20dhs for Deira). It doesnt come with bags or anything - just the pump and bottles. If you read reviews its better than the Avent ones. I agree!!! Super pump and a closed system unlike Medela ones. I bought Juniors storage bottles for ten dhs in Babyshop which fit the pump so I pump straight into them for storage. You can also buy an attachment for less than $10 which converts it to a manual pump if you are stuck. X

I feel your pain with the teething Pingu! LO is waking so frequently to nurse. Back to work tomorrow!!! Agh!!! Went with my second choice of nanny who was luckily still available and everything seems to be going great. She is great with her; so patient and gentle. I'm currently hiding down in my bedroom to give her some space. Have spent the past few days staying out of living room and going out for a couple of hours at a time to get used to it. Hard to gauge exactly how much milk to leave as I plan to pump in work but it looks like 3-4 ozs every 2-3 hours. Have been pumping for the last few days to have plenty just in case. Feeling nervous going back but am going to just take each day as it comes. I have the number of another nanny I liked if anyone is looking at the moment. I know she is still looking. Cannot vouch for her personally but seemed nice in interview. Hope all u other March mums get some sleep soon! Think I will have to go to bed now to be ready for tomorrow!! Lol xx

Pingu I feel your pain...I am back to work next week...agh!!!! And to top it all off....was interviewing nannies all last week...found a lovely one, great references which checked out...had a trial with her last week which went brilliantly. We agreed a salary and she was to start this morning...then 30 mins before she was due to turn up I get a text saying another family offered her more money. I reply and say I will talk about it when she comes at 10 am as planned. She replies and says she doesn't know whether to come or not. I call her immediately and she refuses to answer the phone. She eventually answers and says she is not coming and that she is taking the other job. I am so annoyed and upset as she didn't even give me a chance to offer her more money and had already said she would take the job...Back to the drawing board....really don't need this stress a week before I go back to work.....

Livgian I feel your pain. Last night was sleep at 9.05pm, awake at 10.05pm for a quick feed, then asleep until 12.30am for another quick feed, another one at 4.30am, 5.30am and awake for the day at 6.30am. Of course I probably wouldn't feel so bad if I had gone to bed early instead of watching a silly film until almost midnight....what was I thinking?!!

Bee my LO is the exact same for the past 2 months. She tricked me into thinking she was a great little sleeper. I think it is because she is teething at the moment and wakes up to nurse as it soothes her gums. We haven't started solids yet. I've been nursing her to sleep at around 9pm for the past week since I've come back and pop her straight into the buggy when she goes to sleep. She slept in it until 2.30am last night which was amazing!! Almost made up tor the 4.00am...4.30am and 6am waking ;)

Hi Ladies. I'm just back a week in Dubai. Wow...did not miss that heat!! My LO is 5 months old and going through the joys of teething! Got Sophie the Giraffe which she seems to really like though. She was sleeping well at night for the first three months but not so good now...think it is her teeth. Still breastfeeding but returning to work in a couple of weeks so not sure how it will go. Hoping to continue breastfeeding until she is a year old but we will see.She will take expressed milk from a bottle so I hope she will continue to do so when I go back to work. She has been drinking a bottle of expressed milk a week since she was 8 weeks old and seems to be okay with it. I am using Breastflow bottles. Planning to pump in work but don't know when I will get the time! How are all the March mums doing?? xx

Try not to worry too much. I was told early on that I was going to have a miscarriage; they couldn't see anything in the scans (of which there were several), then eventually the doctor saw a sac with nothing in it. I was told it was a blighted ovum and that I was going to have a miscarriage. My 'miscarriage' is currently sitting on my sister's knee playing with a rattle smiling at me!! Try to hang on a couple of weeks, a lot can change in a short space of time when you are pregnant. If you are only a couple of weeks pregnant there is nothing to see in a scan! Your HCG sounds good to me. It is higher than mine was initially. Thinking of you and hoping you get the result you want xx
