yes I have twin two year olds and all their toys are dispersed into 6 small boxes. 5 boxes stay in the cupboard and they get rotated about every week. I also cull regularly, so much junk gets accumulated so easily!! Just had a culling today - bin it or give it away!!

hmmm are you sure she was a good maid? She should be cleaning up all the mess as it comes, not just waiting till the end of the day!! In this respect, mine was good, too bad she was a thief, user and a liar!

I would charge the friends whose maid's "cousin" she was. I thought you got her on their recommendation? lol Yeah she was on recommendation from two separate people in two different countries!! Yani's previous employers are shocked.

Sorry, I did glance over the other threads, but was just wondering does anyone have any idea why they would run away? Wouldn't it just be easier to quit if you want to leave your job?? Think its terrible what they've done to you guys, esp leaving the LO all alone... Is it not the case that if the maid wants to quit that the employer can choose to send them back to their home country with a 6 month ban if they do not want to give them a NOC? I wouldn't blame the employer doing that after a month, having paid more than 10,000DHS for all the fees and costs to get her over here. In our case it was planned right from the beginning just to use us to fund getting her here.

Now do we finally think it is a good time to bring in the police???? I've been following this from a distance and cannot believe the police weren't brought in long ago!! Actually the police were brought in from day one. When hubby told the immigration it gets registered with the police straight away. he did go into a police station several days later just to double check and they showed him on the computer how the case was on their file.

OMG Shaks thats terrible!! to leave two babies for a whole day!! Apparently there are groups of indonesians living in Satwa doing illegal work. They all squash themselves into accommodation and someone is hiring them obviously! I heard that in Al Ain there's a Pakistani guy who 'steals' maids from their sponsors promising them better wages and has them working as 'part time' cleaners.

You can get antiseptic powders to keep his bottom dry too. One is called Medi-pulv, not sure if you can get it here. Also when I was in lebanon, one of my girls got a rash and her pediatrician gave us cortisone cream as to be used in conjunction with this red paint (cant remember what it's called) I think it's some kind of antiseptic and it dried the skin. You apply it, let it dry and then apply the cortisone cream, it worked wonders. I would also try betadine antiseptic in the same way if you can seem to find the red one.

The bit that makes me laugh is the post from the member who always comments on these letters and is less than nice about the people here - yet this seems to be the first place she comes when she wants something if her number of posts are anything to go by. Hypocrite that she is. I'd just laugh the 7days letter off - the person who wrote it obviously has such a bee in her bonnet about maids that it renders her incapable of following of thread and understanding whats been said. Its true there's none so so blind as those who won't see. And I know some think the frying pan was really of no consequence but it must have hurt for Ginnee to have it re-inforced once again that she had a lying, cheating, stealing, scheming coniving cow living under her roof. edited by DesertRose1958 on 06/01/2011 Yes that is exactly why I because peeved at the end, it wasnt a matter of a bl00dy frying pan, but rather that it reinforced our belief that it was all planned from the beginning. I really dont care what the writer to 7 days thinks, maybe she's not been in my position to be able to comment, and keep in mind that this is the 2nd time (2/2) that a maid has ripped us off. BTW no, no sign of her yet!! and the cousin seems to not know anything either although my husband is going to question her tonight, finally.

nothing that I know of, when we went shopping together the night before, she asked me to buy her special noodles that she eats, bread buns and coffee mate, all of which only she consumes. She took none of that, only a few of her clothes and shoes and face cream that we got her for christmas. All of our valuables were in the safe, thank God. Absolutely she planned it!! I'll throttle her if I find her!

i think they want too much money for them...they dont haggle with u that much now, a few years ago u could really get the price down low... Last time I was amazed how much they wanted for them, I couldn t find one I like under 650 WTF I dont think so lol My sister in law went a few weeks ago, got a Lancel handbag, they were asking 600, she ended up getting it for 100!! She is so good at haggling!!

Hi Poppy82. Oh, I sympathise!! Motherhood is a challenge and the transition from sitting to crawling to walking is a hard one. You feel you need to be there to supervise and protect them until they've mastered it. I agree with the others, get cushions, blankets etc or those spongy mats to put on the floor. But what struck me most is that he doesnt nap for long during the day. A baby of 10 mths generally needs 2x 1-2 hour naps during the day and 12 hours at night. What is is sleeping pattern at night? Getting him into a routine is invaluable, both for you and for him. I treasure the times my girls nap!! they're 2 now and only nap 2 hours a day (most days) but it's during that time that I do my housework. Oh, to have a maid!! Could you get a cleaner in once a week for 3 hours to do some cleaning? Try not to worry too much about the housework, enjoy your baby, you dont get this time back again.

However, just because she wasn't dragged out of the door kicking and screaming and the woman your husband thought was her looked to be going willingly doesn't necessarily mean she was a willing participant in whatever was going on. Her 'cousin' may well have had a more threatening reason for helping her to come to Dubai in the first place. Your maid may well really have wanted to stay with you and have hated having to leave you the way she did but you don't know what her home situation [i'>really[/i'> is and how she may have been coerced into doing something she didn't want to due to a threat to herself or worse, her family (didn't you say she was having problems with her husband? Maybe he has had a hand in this, told her she must go do a different 'trade' or she won't see her son again. If I've got the wrong maid, sorry, ignore this bit!)... just a thought... yeah thanks for that insight, it's good to hear everyone's ideas and opinions, I just wish if this was the case, that she could have come to us for help.

Ginnee, perhaps your DH could gently discuss the matter with the cousins employers. if he is a childhood friend he could surprise you by being very supportive and lean on the cousin without the need for the involvement of the police. Are they aware of what's happened? Yes they're aware of what happened and are unwilling to lean on her. They're paranoid about their maid hurting their 2yr old son out of spite, or doing a runner. good grief...and they continue to employ a woman about whom they feeel like that ??? mmmm, yes I see what you mean, but I think their line of thinking is, anything's possible, even when your maid is really good, some of them just flip out.
