facebook is also your friend. Join a group called Abu Dhabi Q&A, very responsive and they will for sure help. you're right, BISAD has made quite a jump to A2. Very impressive. Yasmina was always my first choice so i was very happy when my DD got in :)

In 5 or so years of reading posts on here i haven't seen any posts about the two schools you have mentioned perhaps that is why no-one has commented on this. There are so many schools in the UAE therefore their kids ( If they have them as there are many on this board who have none or grown up ones) may go other schools There is one comment on whichschooladvisor about Repton but it isn't very favourable and it doesn't mention what grade the child is in Good Luck These schools are in Abu Dhabi maybe that's why they're not talked about much here. OP there is another forum that you will find lots of answers to your questions that forum helped me decide about Yasmina. i would love to tell you the name but it is not allowed here sorry about that.

You can check Nazih showrooms, they have Macadamia oil products, and it will help you a lot. : www.nazih.com/retail seriously ENOUGH with your ads it's starting to get annoying. even those who use nazih will stop now. i sure will

I know how difficult it can be when you want to find the best school for your child. i would have loved to be able to help unfortunately i gave up BISAD for Yasmina due to Yasmina being older, ADEC ratings and lower cost. i have heard great things about BISAD being amazing for Primary and all the children and parents are very happy. as for repton i have no idea since i didn't even apply to it due to the fees.

I really enjoy Diwan Al Muhanna on sheikh Zayed Road and it's on the entertainer. another favorite is the Friday buffet in Yamal Al Sham in Jumeirah these are Arabic cuisine if you're into it. if you're looking for hotels, i wouldn't know because i am not into over priced food.

Hi Hope31, DH is presently recruiting for a Analyst position based in Abu Dhabi - if this would be of interest. They are actively looking at diversifying nationality and hence coming from Europe ticks the box. But it does require some finance / accounting background preferably? hi my DH is currently looking for a job in that description is there any way we can contact you?

The maternity care here is fine. However for the first 6 months you will be under probation and your employer could fire you you for no reason, also you will not be entitled to full maternity leave until you have completed one year of employment. Maternity leave here is 45 days. I would strongly advise you telling your employer before making the move out here. it will be the full 45 days but 1/2 pay just to clarify.

Men always take the path of least resistance. They just don't always realise that we prefer the path of most involvement ? Nicely said. That's exactly it.

i'm all for loling trust me. but don't you think it's a bit odd when you ask and it just gets ignored. Anyways, i'm not making a big deal out of i didn't even mention it. i was just genuinely wondering why do men usually just ignore questions. i mean if you don't have an answer just say it.

"He knew immediately that I would go ballistic " I think that you just answered your own question. i would go balistic when i saw the pics she posted in the group that she's at the chefs restaurant because he knows i'm like his number 1 fan :D. as for going behind my back to tell his sister. well that's another story.

My neighbor's landlord refused to drop the rent so she moved across the street - same house - for 25k less. Oh wow. That's a huge difference.

Honestly that's what i am worried about because just a few minutes before that i was telling him how jealous i am that she's in a 3* Michelin star rest with one of my favorite chefs ever. that i've been wanting to do that for 4 years but it never happened. now that i am pregnant i don't want to even attempt it and also i have no one to watch over my daughter. Just looking at the pictures she sent made me so jealous lol and i was actually laughing about it. He knew immediately that i would go ballistic because he knows how much i love that chef but at the same time i know my DH is not that type. So i guess the curiosity is just killing me. Just like any other question i ask and they dodge. do men tend to ignore i mean is it in their traits? you could also say my pregnancy hormones are all over the place and i just want to make a problem out of every little thing.

Guess I'm strong enough that I don't need someone else to hold my hand :) Seems like you've already made up your mind, god help your poor daughter. Just because you are strong enough doesn't mean it's not nice to have your special someone on your side. My husband was with me with my 1st child and it was wonderful having him there. that doesn't make me weak i don't know why you thought this would be valuable information to the OP, just because your husband was useless doesn't mean everyone feels the same way as you. OP i understand that you want your child by your side but maybe think about it some more. she is a child and this might traumatize her. Not only that, i really don't think they will allow her to stay for the delivery. Maybe for everything else but not the delivery. When my due date comes i'd like my daughter to come after the birth just so that i won't stress out. but we have decided that either she stays over with us for the night or if there is no complications we want to see if we can leave on the same day because i have never spent a night away from her and i am not willing to do that.

try applying everywhere not just Dubai. If you have no strings attached in Dubai i am sure your move will be easy. just keep talking to people, meeting people, posting everywhere. networking is what works here really. once they know your name then they will look into your qualifications. best of luck

Well just to let you conclude if it is in the downturn or not around 50 employees have been laid off including me from the Company my husband's job told him to start looking for a job because they will be terminating people and his colleague already got laid off. a family friend has just lost his job and now they are migrating to America. We are preparing for the worst :) oh and i am pregnant, termination date is 31st Mar, due date is 20th April. so things are just wonderful right now

Thanks everyone for your numerous contributions...... I can't possibly start telling a lie either about my nationality or name.....doing that simply potrays me as liar and and gives others a bad name... To all who had bad or annoying experiences with africans pls forgive them and dont let it be generalized. pls remember that any nationality could do same stuff and go wrong too....... I am a graduate in sciences but when I could not get a job I decided to work as a Nanny since I loved kids with passion... But I got on the wrong hands and ever since trying to get at least another nanny job has been a whole lot of bad experience.... Someday the good people will find me that I know cos am good at whatever I do... But so far the discrimination is heartbreaking... Thanks all am grateful. Are you willing to shift to other Emirates or only Dubai?

I'm sorry but you won't get anywhere with your plea, schools here are all about money and not compassion. why would they give you discounts and not another person. If I were you i would look into another school with a budget that would fit yours and not waste time talking to the school. You not wanting to get her out of school because of the waiting list is not a justifiable reason to be honest. you are right a lot of people are in your shoes, and because of this they look at schools with good ratings and low fees. goodluck

If you check ADEC you can see the ratings of schools here in Abu Dhabi. I have applied to BSAK, BISAD and all al dar schools. Finally I have chosen Al Yasmina because i felt more comfortable there and i also had a budget. BSAK has priorities for Brits and Siblings unfortunately i don't fall under these categories. having said all this, my daughter is entering FS1 and not in secondary yet. so i hope you can get more answers from those who have children in secondary level. best of luck and you will love Abu Dhabi :)
