I can understand that the company is going to fire your husband. And they will try every trick to get him sacked. Right now they are getting him agitated to get him make a mistake, specially they are involving a lawyer, so I believe your husband should seek industrial lawyer to accompany him in his next meeting with the bosses. Your husband is in a very critical situation here, even if he did not do anything wrong, his days in the company is now numbered. In my own personal opinion; you should start looking elsewhere, either find a new job or go another country, but really you guys need to involve MOL Involve your consulate too; they have lawyers or will recommend lawyers, all I can say is you need to document everything and anything from that company. All the best and stay strong

@LT you said it all ?? Unfortunately men are as***ls when it come to midlife crisis, they can't handle it well, and they start being teenagers or 20 something years old, either change their clothes and look at the wife and children as the only reminder of their true age. I have no words of wisdom to give you OP, it's only you who can decide for yourself, you either can start looking younger than him and join his race - change your weardrop, hair style and start going out with other ladies and have a kind of social life and show him how busy you too could be- I know; some posters could say this is pity solution to take, again it could be your Hail Mary for this marriage?? Or you can start planning your next step of moving on and leaving him to his own mirage of lost and found youth he is trying to get it back, lay low and get copies of every shred of paper proof his salary and assets, secure the passports and apply for new schools back home, get everything you can get and pack light, and get tickets for home as Xmas break is right at the corner. It's very difficult and you aren't a princess, you are the queen of your house, and if the king is not that much appreciative of the queen, then it's time for the queen to find her own kingdom that only her is the ruler of her life. Stay strong, because you'll need all the strength Good luck

It just needs to be over - there will be no winners. One is a criminal who thinks she is above the law and doesn't have to play by the rules of every other US citizen and the other is a buffoon that thinks he can say and do anything he wants with no consequences. I'm absolutely ashamed that with all the amazing citizens in the US this is what we were left to choose between. I think FBI already stated that she didn't do anything wrong, but if you opted to say oh she is criminal but never convicted; I must tell you trump is the worse criminal that never been convicted too! Enough the lawsuits against his business, either employees suing him or residence of his projects that suing him too, never mind the 200 years ideas he keep promoting about women- objectifying women as good for entertaining men and baring children, it's dangerous for women to work, racizm in general for any one isn't white Christian straight American male, how he will creat a force to memic the Spanish Inquisition prosecutions, the list goes on and on- stating trump is good; it's like saying Hitler was a great leader for the German nation and succeeded in making Germany a great country that thrived on Nazi ideology.... That's one dude you don't want him poses nuclear button under his tiny hands.

First of all DO NOT inform the school of visa cancellation, as per KHDA if you do so she will be out of the school immediately. If you are going to pay for her schooling then just keep paying as usual, and just keep doing the visa run. And once she finish the year give the cancelation paper to the school, so they prepare her file for transferring to your country/ give you her file as part of graduating from the school. This is all what I can tell you about this. All the best and sending cyber hugs towards you and your family

Ladies with children at JESS Ranches, particularly secondary, I have a few questions. How good is the school at communicating/consulting with parents? Does it provide an education that is tailored to the individual child's needs (as far as it can) or is it very one size fits all? And how good is it at picking up and dealing with academic issues such as failure to meet expectations? It is a relatively small (secondary) school by Dubai standards, and I wonder if this gives it an advantage over larger schools in terms of communication, monitoring and the personal touch?! I'm joining your plea for insider views, as I'm bracing myself when start splitting school drop offs between Jumierah and Arabian Ranches next year. So this is my bump for this thread

I experienced this with one of my children why my child was almost 2 years old, went to many hospitals- private and governmental hospitals- nothing was find but the high fever and vomiting didn't stop. After 2 days of running went to a nearby pd doctor and ordered blood test that showed it was viral infection and given meds to bring temp down.... And 2 days later it was all gone. Hugs and it'll pass, just keep going to another doctors and tell about previous experiences so the new doctor will try different methods to find out.

Honestly can't believe the question, I assume you don't have an underaged maid? You can say that if we are living in another country... Over here if a woman become pregnant out of wedlock then jail and deportation, in maids cases the first man will be taken into custody will be the boss/ the sponsor until proven innocent from having illegal affair with the maid. So OP have every right to feel anxious about this. OP, ask your maid flatly why she is using them, you might ask her for the doctor prescription itself for any reason that it's not to prevent pregnancy.... If she failed to present it, then you must assume getting her out of your house and on the next plane to her home. A very well known lawyer I know they discovered thier maid is pregnant and she isn't married, what do you think they did? On the next plane they sent her to her home, a week later they sent her belongings and all her dues.... As he is a lawyer he knew the first man will be brought for questioning is him, despite he is constantly in AD.... Another case of someone in DH ex work spent 2 months in the jail despite he was at work when the maid pregnancy assumed happened, and the sign in and out of his work is biometric with the whole hand print. Never mention the salary had been suspended, so loss of income with children go to school and the maid was in the sponsor home during that time!!! So go ahead and make fun of a serious question that if proven the maid in question is sleeping around then the family will face great deal of hardship The pill prevents from pregnancy....so shouldn't it be good that she's using them? I'm not making fun, I think it's good she's taking them and they might actually be for other medical reasons as well. We can't expect grown women to live in celibate whilst employed on year long contracts either. Re-read your own post, it indicates that you assume the maid is underage that's why making fun of a serious situation that will eat the grean and dry in OP household if the usage of these pills is for pregnancy. Please remember where exactly you are living, so personal rights as sleeping around is punishable by law over here.

I would say go to Latifa's hospital or Rashid or Dubai hospital. But Latifa is the best hospital of them all. Long years back I gave birth to one of my children in Al Wasl hospital- Latifa hospital now- and it was great. Latifa hospital have premature baby ward that even private hospitals back then used to send them to wasl hospital. As per charges it's waaaaay less than any private hospital here. Plus for the very first 2 year of your baby life all vaccines are free. Go to Latifa if they accepted you, you must be lucky to be able to do your pregnancy checks over there then giving birth over there. Congratulations !

We will be leaving Dubai at the end of this year. My visa will expire in November. Can anyone inform me about any of the following please:- Once my visa has expired, does my driving licence expire at the same time or can I use it until I physically leave? Can my husband keep his bank account open for final payments and for future visits here? Thanks in anticipation ! Driving license: no it's valid until the date on the license, again if you are sure you'll never need it again you need to cancel it, as it's your responsibility to renew it and you'll get fine for every month you didn't renew it, a poster did get a fine for not renewing her license even she was out of the country.... Bank account: again your husband will need to close down his bank account, as part of the procedures to open a bank account is the NOC from the sponsor, and the sponsor will need to have confirmation that all the guarantee letters are already canceled, then the sponsor will be able to cancel your husband visa.

Careful, lots of fake ones being sold online ? It's only 29 US dollars from the site itself. Order it online from kylie Cosmitics and you'll be fine

??? That took me a while to stop laughing, until I p I ssed my pants ??? On a serious note: it depend on what business you've done, if it's number 1 it'll be between the legs from front toward back. If it's number 2 then only the back, but always make sure that nothing passes from back to front, that need practice and aiming at the right angle so no splashing around happen... OMG I just can't believe myself writing this piece of advice on a public or private board ????????

Selling your own personal effects are the only thing you can sell from home or car without obtaining a permit from anyone. This is something I know for sure after I did ask police about it specifically as I was going to buy a second hand laptop Again the police told me when it come to laptops, computers, smartphones, tablets or iPads these are a gray area: which leave the buyer literally exposed, and the law didn't have exact way how to regulate selling these items with protection to the buyer... Furniture, clothes and toys and all that sort are sold as second hand personal effects. Stand alone villa or compound villa, car boot or appartment, no need to obtain the permit

I have also tried this very expensive company called the box. I paid 1450aed just to move a glass dining table with 6 chairs from my friends house in jumeirah to meadows I thought i would pay for an impeccable and professional service. And guess what? They showed up 1 hour late with no packing material!!! They wasted 1hour waiting for the material (bubble wrap) and used leftover cardboards from previous jobs to wrap the bottom of the chairs. Found out that the company has actually subcontracted the job to some indian guys with an open truck. I have opened a case with the DED and im seeking a refund. Never use the box!!. Any man with a van move stuff from anywhere with fracture of this (250 - 400) dirhams as long as inside Dubai you go 600 dirhams if sharjah to Dubai or vice versa They show up exactly on time, English or no English they do great job, if tell them to dismantle the furniture they bring their tools with them, they have packageing with them and if in doubt just send them the location via whatsapp

To answer your questions, it all depend on: 1) what curriculum you are after? 2) where are you going to live? 3) what is your budget? Again it's only you who can answer this question... Go to KHDA site and get a list of their listed schools, again there are schools that opened last year and this year, these schools are exempted of the KHDA inspection for 3 years... The new schools you'll find places there but the school fees are sky high! Now you got these keys info, and you can start your own research. Good luck figuring out which is which.

The link is Arabic from Arabic UAE newspaper, it explain that a couple had a baby with less than 180 days for their marriage to prove the baby is born in legal marriage, the mother been prisecuted for having child born out of wedlock and lost her case at the first instance, the father contested the case and demanded to be named the father of the child on the birth certificate then he lost his appeal, then both contested it and gave paper states they both got married Urfi - undocumented marriage- before the actual legal marriage and got friends and family state they both were married urfi before the legal marriage... And the 3 moths jail sentence been suspended for both I suggest you get your marriage certificate attested if you both were married outside of UAE - which this can resolved the issue and drop the case against both of you. If you were married here, well, show this article to the lawyer - he/she will be able to get the case numbers and use it to show the judge there were a priore case to asquite both of you of criminal charges... HTH Thanks for your reply We got married in the uk and we had it arrested by the UAE embassy in U.K. And also foreign affairs here but obviously it's falls just short of 180 days We also had an undocumented marriage that would be over a year ago, if we get the documents proving this marriage would the case then be dropped? Yes, as per the article if you prove them the case will be dropped. Good luck and stay positive. You might like to include your consulate to give you details of a good lawyer? In any case you need a good lawyer that will finish the whole thing as soon as possible. Sending positive vibes and hugs to you all.

 Why don't you take a photo of your furniture with you when you go rugs shopping? You'd be amazed how different rugs look in different lights / rooms. You can see one in a shop and looking at your photo think it will be perfect .... But then when you see it in the actual room the colours don't look the same ? I know how it could be tricky, again in all countries I've lived in, no reputable shop will let you take thier products to try it at home to get the feel of it ? And taking a photo and try your luck to find the perfect match is what everybody knows it... Again if money no problem you can always hire an interior decorator or a company that do this and yes; they will get you everything you want to have the feel of the furniture in your home, again this all comes with a cost. Getting phones of rug man in a van is very trickey too. Good luck finding your perfect rug

To sponsor your husband you need salary certificate with your position in the company, how much salary you get and your title/ position.. As some positions the wife can sponsor the husband and children. With all your relevant document take it to dnrd or the pro in your company can assesst - if possible - to obtain the residency .... First obtain yours then you can get your husband, it's important to have your rented housing contract with you stating how many bedrooms to obtain your husbands... Regarding the religion; I'm sure there will be no problem, or another poster with more info and knowledge state something else. HTH

Totally understand your situation and feelings, you feel let down by the school despite their "understanding" the situation over the phone, but they really didn't understand. You are within your right to request result/feedback on the reason of the rejection, and ask them on what basis they concluded this result on 10 assessment instead of and hour. Tbh, I don't think they worth your time, if this is their understanding for prospective parents, what about the actual parents of the school? i hope you can come up with the answers yourself on this matter

As complainant you don't need a lawyer, the complained against needs the lawyer, the man wants to settle the matter before it reach the courts system, some cases could result badly for the complain against; it could reach evoking his driving license, fine and possibly a jail time... So that's why now he is being nice and reaching for a settlement. If you don't want the matter reach courts; you need to get your insurance documents to get him pay for all the damages. Or you can wait until you get a court order against him, then get a civil case to pay for the damages. HTH

Based on a previous experience in a stand alon property - not the palm - that you can pay separately for additional car park. Your tenancy agreement will state how many car park(s) allocated to your appartment, for example one bedroom have 1 car park, 2 bedroom have 1 car park and three bedroom have 2 car parks, as this is the standard of Dubai.... We used to live in a 2 bedroom appartment and 1 allocated car park, I remember I did pay 3k per year - separately - for the extra car park that I used, then been given a transponder to the building car park. So in theory yes you can! Just seek the LL or the company the owns the building and ask them about adding extra car park that you'll pay for it per year. I hope that helped

Sorry Gorobattie, completely disagree! It's not 'gross, greasy men' practically every bloke I know does this, in a relationship or not and if they say they don't or aren't, then they're pretty much lying about it. It's hardwired into mens brains to look at this stuff. Google 'Why men look at porn' - very obvious and simple reasons as to why they do it and mostly pretty innocent ones at that. Does it mean they are doing anything about it? Not necessarily. That's actually MORE likely to happen if they're not allowed an outlet for their 'fantasies'. That statment of " every bloke I know does it" tells a lot about women who raise men that don't respect women. It doesn't mean that every bloke you know does it that it's a right thing... I know men from my circle of family and friends that don't do it, maybe in their teenage, but not adult men, and that deferentia men from horny teenagers!!!! That you know of. Do you keep tabs on what every single man in your family does, 100% of the time? Seriously?! Also it has NOTHING to do with respecting or disrespecting women or how someone was brought up either. You're very naive in that assumption, because it's not true at all. Shock, horror, many couples watch things together, do things together, just because some people do things differently to you, doesn't make it wrong. Each to their own. *goes back to looking at facebook profiles of big, muscular, bare-chested men*. (works BOTH ways). You claimed you have the knowledge of men you know do this act, so I guess you have taps on them, as your post stated clearly they do this and you are aware of it. ? Again, if watching porn and nudes is a spread out; it doesn't mean it's right, encouraging this industry help demeaning women and endorsing violence toward women, so there is no pride in stating men love porn, it's like a woman says she love to be insulted, objectified and become a se x object for someone else's amusement .... Again that says a lot about women who don't respect themselves enough and raise boys become men that love watching porn. I hope this cleared your idea about the whole horrific reality you are trying to justify

I don't get the posters who normalise the act of " men looking at nudes or porn as normal men do" mentra! No, it's not normal for men to be looking up such stuff, greedy grose men do this, not normal men, specially if they are in a relationship ( girlfriend or fiancé or a wife) and still looking at these stuff means these men are sick and need to seek help. Now Instagram is about following these girls or women who post such photos, as Instagram do ban nudity or porn, that mean the husband in question IS in contact with these girls or women who share these nudes, as the pages are private, and only shared to "known" contacts, and can send private messages too. With the new feature Instagram have; to share a video with specified contacts and not others, these videos will be there for 24 hrs or less- as per the sender determine - so yes, that's an alarming sign and OP can't ignore it. Hi ladies, this may be a strange question, but here goes...I have several white shirts that, while not completely transparent, are slightly sheer enough simply due to being white so that I usually wear a slip. In my previous job in Europe, I would wear one with fairly thin straps which you could juuuuust see through the shirt. Here, though, I feel that it's not appropriate. What do you all wear under shirts like this so that they "blend in" with the rest of the shirt/your skin but aren't, say, the equivalent of a long-sleeved leotard? Just the same, a slip under the see thro shirts

we plan to fly from Dubai to Vienna by Emirates. As Emirates not offering flights to our home town Bremen, we booked Lufthansa from Vienna to Bremen. As we would not have lot of time in Vienna could we check in luggage in Dubai and then automatically for the flight from Vienna to Bremen? Not sure as Lufthansa is not a partner airline. Otherwise I guess we would have to collect luggage in Vienna and then check in again at lufthansa....that would take too much time. Does anyone has similar experience?? You can present the other airline tickets for the connecting flight at the check in to tag the bags all the way to vie If Bremen in Austria, then you need to claim the bags in vie then check in for the domestic flight.... As I know for sure from previous work experience you can tag your bags all the way as long as its international destinations, if last airport is donestic then you claim your bags at the last international airport then re check in for the domestic flight. There is a power struggle in your home, and your maid is trying hard to steel your home from you! In any culture or community, no one have the right to obstruct your access to your child, unless it's a court order - this is not the case at all - this maid really have to be gone! She is constantly going out, in this heat! She is meeting up with someone or her friends, and using the excuse of having your baby with her all the time, by creating a strong bond between her and your baby, so she can glue herself into this household and disregard your position as the lady of the house and getting more power by having your baby consider her "mum" instead of you! If it was me, I'll not let that maid stay in my home another minute, she'll be on the next flight home with all her dues.... Even if I'll be crawling on four, I won't need a woman like this to be under my roof, I understand from your posts you are stay at his me mum, until you hire a new maid; have the agency maids to come and do chores, you can cook meals for a week ahead and freez it.. Your baby look she is younger and might be learning to walk - from the posts you posted I got this impression- in this age baby want to walk and explore more than being held, you can do it, you don't need the passive aggressive and reality check attitude from that maid, we hire maids to make our live easier not a constant fight like that Ouch, this is mean, a lot of these girls genuinely loves children and I think they are just trying to look after the children as a motherly instinct. When you start to have these kind of thoughts, don't bring a maid in to your family. Then why don't you employ that maid if you think that was mean and harsh? Really if you think this maid is not a good placement for op, go ahead and offer her employment with you, but don't come here complaining about her running your house with no regard to you.

There is a post about the new Principal and Chief Academic Officer at Hartland on FB Dubai School Guide for Parents. Can you state which post in that group? I can't find it really despite I kept searching it up? It's actually just a shared post from Hartland's own FB page. Here's the link: https://www.facebook.com/Hartlandinternationalschool/ I don't think we can share the link to the Dubai School Guide for Parents FB post because it's a closed group. But it's literally just a "share" of the Hartland's post on to the DSGP's FB wall. There are no comments on it as of now. There are comments on Hartland's original post (most of which are congratulating the new head). Hope that helps :) I'm on that group too! Still can't find the post! Any one can bump it over there?

OP didn't ask for suggestions to change school or work or home! She simply asked for school drop off and pick up alternatives... No body can suggest to others how to live, where to live, where to work or where to enrol their children for school... ? We are simply pointing out that a 2 hour round trip for a four year old child is insane. And you think OP didn't notice the time taken for the trip? She knows, but that wasn't her question, she and her husband knows that, we can't dictate our views or better ideas on others, unless they asked for it, again op asked for methods of transportations, not suggestions of changing jobs, homes or schools!!

Christy7, just hang in there! Don't give up, you'll never know what will happen tomorrow, chin up and keep fighting for yourself. It's always hard the last kilometres in marathon, when you see photos of people who just climbed high up and pinned down their mark; you'll see them happy, tired but happy, but they never ever take photos of themselves while climbing up, not being able to breath, facing starvation and sleep deprived, and in every step they risk slipping and die, you'll never see them breaking down in tears and just want to give up, you'll never see this, because this is the price you pay for greatness. Hang on there, as I said you'll endour it and you'll prevail, you'll do it and find your place under the sun, you may loos a battle but you will win the war.... Hang on there, and you'll make it. Take care, please. G

I can't imagine the pain this boy parents are goin through, or the feelings this little boy felt at his last moment in life. Reading these crimes makes me more and more angry, why young and innocent souls to be taken like that, and the criminals get to survive their victims? May the parents find peace, and hopefully they get justice with the execution of that criminal

I believe you already sent this very same post to the 7 days tabloid.... That explains why you never respond back, and you are only an editor in 7 days or expat woman writing a letter just to spark comments.... How sad things isn't that much real! It's not us! We promise! And I owe you too an apology dear admin of expat woman. I believe that I let that tabloid letter section take the better of me and made me jump to conclusions! My bad! Please accept my apologies too.

That explains why you never respond back, and you are only an editor in 7 days or expat woman writing a letter just to spark comments.... How sad things isn't that much real! Dear Gorobattie, Thank you for taking the time to reply to my post and yes, you are correct, I did submit the same post to 7 days to make more people aware of what is going on in terms of what I feel is discrimination due to my age. My apologies for not replying any earlier as I have been busy going out looking for a job and the place where I have now moved to does not have internet access so when I want to use the internet I have to go to a friend's place to do so. This is the only reason why I have not replied any sooner. I am sorry if this upset you but I can assure you that I am not an editor looking to spark debate. I am simply someone who is in desperate need of a job and it worries me that as we are getting closer to Ramadan the job market will start to slow down. Once again I appreciate the time you took to reply to my post not only once but twice. Thank you. Dear Christy7, I believe that I just jumped to conclusions over this, my deep apology to you, I guess I just became a sceptic person after reading the 7days tabloid, again it's a tabloid and on so many occasions tabloids did report news from this forum as if they did the work themselves! And the letter section does have so many controversial letters that sparks comment and letters in response that even dedicated a section for responses. I got carried away with my assumption and please accept my apology, I wish you that manage to get yourself out of this viscous circle you are in. And remember: everything will be alright in the end, if it's not alright, then it's not the end. Good luck G
