If they have to throw it and not sell it, why not group of women or any charity go there and take this big bag and give it to any of labors camp? just an idea They are not allowed to, according to municipality guidelines, but do not worry, I shall make sure this is changed, and soon. does it make any difference if you want me to help around? don't know what really I can do, but I would love to help around.

That reminded me of something similar happened to me and DH, it was 2006 or 2007 in garhood, a man approached us with empty pack of prescribed medicine, and asked for money as he lost his job and showed us his airline ticket, it happened that we were near welcare hospital, we took him to the emergency as his wound was bad - in his arm - the hospital said this man been larking for a week around this area, and we are not the only people who wanted to do something good like that. DH did not believe the hospital, and took him to a near by pharmacy, and the pharmacist looked at the wound and confirmed that the medication he showed us is to treat dermatology problems, and showed her the wound and she said he did not took his med that's why it look awful like that.... in the whole process this man all what he wanted is money, and was reluctant to go to hospital or accompany us to the pharmacy, DH is kind hearted so he give him some cash, low and behold I had seen this man approaching another couple with children this time and showed his wound!!!!! how did I know, we lived near that hospital and I kept watching the whole thing,,,,in that time did not know about EW

Nomad and Sue, I don't know how it feels to see the withdrawal or been dealing with addict before, true, but there are ALWAYS programs in schools tell the kids about how bad is addiction, prochores education and so on.... yep once I had been offered something like that in my youth, been with circle of what called in that time friends, I was a teen, and I can tell that I was the only one who did not use this funny cigarette, even called chicken for that, I didn't care, only becose I CHOOSE to not to be one of those you read about..... I had my share of troubles, but never ever done something that will affect my whole life like that. edited by Gorobattie on 13/02/2012 I will try again. The adult in my life was not offered drugs they were prescribed by the doctors and specialists treating a back injury due to a disease. As part of their recovery very strong pain killers were given and they became addicted to said pain killers. This only took a matter of a few weeks.......addiction is not ALWAYS a case of you are offered something and you just have to say no. There are many causes of addiction and it is not a black/white issue,as in life, there are many grey areas edited by Nomad on 13/02/2012 Sorry for your loss Nomad. in that example - WH - was she the same case like your beloved one whom been prescribed those pain killers? I don't think so, still it was a choice to take those pain killers, knowing the dangers that accompany it, being a pray of those pain killers means there were a time that overdosed those pain killers - unknowingly or just can not stand the pain - that led to the addiction. my grandfather and my untie both cancer sufferers, my grandfather lost his battle with pancreatic cancer, my untie had removed her both breasts and parts of her under arms, and still battling it, but it had gone deeper into her bones, she is doing chemotherapy at the moment, and she have unbearable pain, she have 5 children, abusive husband used her as punch bag, on one stage she lost her spiel and one kidney, and she kept going on.....I admire her courage facing all of that, and she never thought about using drugs or any escape from all of that, the community she live in doesn't think that beating up your wife of your children is bad...not at all, and she is surviving. I keep praying for her all the time, and by the way she have a strong personality, and she never ever lost her faith that something good must happen. now back to WH, well I do not see any point giving her any excuse for what she did with her life, when I posted about WH, I was talking about people whom are from the same category of her, ( actors singers showbiz people) do not take it personally as I do not know you in person. edited by Gorobattie on 13/02/2012

Actually, I think Fulla is right when she stated addiction is a choice, when someone says being 40 is distressing, well every second there are people reaching 40 years old and have more problems and deal with it..like working hard to earn every single penny to put food on the table, reaching 40 is not a problem by itself, plus there are people whom are 40 and they are doing great more than 20 years old... family rejection leads to addiction? there are millions around the world deal with this on daily bases and not complaining about it, and they have very serious problems, more than family rejection or acceptance, which make it a minor problem. paparazzi? well there are millions around the world suffering starvation, human trafficking, violence, genocide ..... name it, and those whom in real need for paparazzi to show their miserable life how does it look like, instead those people who tip off paparazzi to follow them all around, or hire crew that tip them off to do this job.... if money and fame did not give you strength to do the right, then you are useless, sorry to say: those actors singers showbiz people after the wealth and the fame yet they can not do the right, they really worthless humans, in my opinion they had been already payed for there talents, just like supermarket, you buy a bar of chocolate, you eat the chocolate then you toss the wrapping in the rubbish bin, WH just treated herself that way, some other people, for example Oprah Winfrey had suffered so much along her life, did this made her stop her fight? no it just kept her going, and in the same time she tried to make other people lives better a bit, and did not fall into the addiction demons. I liked WH songs, no more no less, I bought the songs and that's it, but falling for the performer thinking he/she is the song words or the acting role, this is immaturity, not being able to separate reality from fiction, I believe we are adults and can tell the difference. WH when she choose to become drug addict, made a wrong choice, she is above 21 and can tell right from wrong, so she suffer the consequences, we can not imagine after this long term addiction she will do great :\: and giving her excuse for her addiction make us hippocratic, knowing very well that same people who gave her the excuse for her bad behavior are the very same people whom won't do the same with a common person become 40, have family problems and rejection then dies after long term of addiction, let's be fair and call things with it's real name, yes WH was irresponsible person to choose to be addict. P.S. I do not understand why people become very sensitive about reaching 40?? it's just a number, plus numbers have never ever been a measurement for talents and personalities. edited by Gorobattie on 13/02/2012

When I think of her I have this vivid memory of watching the movie at the cinema with my date of the time, but while I do not recall who my date was, I perfectly see the scene of the silk scarf cut by the blade. The elegance of the scarf fluctuating in the air, the razor sharp blade cutting it effortlessly, the two pieces of the scarf falling down lifeless... With hindsight it could have been a metaphore of this incredibly talented, fragile butterfly of the scenes. Your description gives me chills, can so remember it myself. I don't know....but this description is so s * x y......I don't know why....maybe it's just me..... edited by Gorobattie on 12/02/2012

I constantly get raised eyebrows and looks of disbelief when asked what time the kids go to bed and I don't understand why, At their age (almost 6 and 31/2) they still need around 11 hours sleep so they are in bed by 6.30 at the latest..and asleep. I refuse to eat my dinner with them as they are basically small animals and so Hubby and I enjoy our dinner in peace later. They sleep all night and wake up about 5.30 which about the time Hubby gets up and not far off when we need ot get up to get ready for school. Is that so wrong???? Actually...should be getting thier bath ready as I type! Don't worry, we are like you :D

Chocs01, I had a very serious phone call to the supervisor/ manager this arvo, and he listened to me carefully, when he told me that he will call back to give me details about his investigation, I told him that I am not interested into this, as it's not my problem, it's the bank problem, and all this circus stop with this phone call, as next time I will call the police for them, and I got his name, and told him that as he is the one in charge I will report him with the bank to the police, if I got any more call for that regard.

Okay, the phone calls had been escalated now, they called our land line 3 times today, and they demand to talk to the person they are after. I didn't get those calls but the house help did, they tried to interrogate her, I had spoken to her earlier and told her to not give our names to anybody we do not know, she was clever enough to hang up the phone  After I come from the school run, she told me what happened, then I had got hsbc number from their website, then talked to them not to call my phone again, other wise I'll call the police for them as this is harassment and I will not entertain those phone calls any more. I guess the saga is still going on, I hope my phone call is the last one.

Indonesian airlines don't have good reputations. There have been some major back to back accidents. None recently but I would never fly them or put my family or friends on one of their planes. I said ever earlier but will retract that to not until they have clearly improved. They were banned from flying in several countries. Have a clean bill of health now but m still leary edited by dogcatcher on 30/01/2012 Actually since a low cost airliner crashed around 2003, EU had banned any airlines from indonesia to fly to EU..... maybe this had been changed. but the fact that their civil aviation authorities knows that indonesian airlines have major problems and do nothing to fix it....make me skeptical about them.... this is my own humble opinion.

How do you guys feel about your in-laws in general? I'm just curious to know if there are others who feel the same way as I feel about mine... To be more specific, I have had issues with my in-laws for the past 8 years of my marriage, but I've always managed to overcome my frustration and showed no reaction...I don't know maybe the solution is to live in different cities, and not close to each other. You mean: Devils in law?? I have stories about them, last time I had a word with them was more than 2 years ago, to be frank with you, I'm happy like this, told DH if he wants to visit them he can do it, not me or my children, last time I was in there house FIL insulted me and my family- to be specific my blood line - and my children are 50 per cent from my blood, so I won't let my children subjected to those priks. DH knows they had mistaken but he can't tell them they were wrong, they are over 80s, as he says; it's too late in the day. so I replied to DH; well it's too late for them as well to know my children.

We all know what type of person did such an act, but unfortunately until he is caught nothing can be done. In fact even if he is caught i doubt anything will happen. These are the same specimen who throw kittens in highways. In short they are cowards who dont have guts to face anyone even half their size so they pick on cats and sleep peacefully thinking they haev achieved something on their own All serial killers started by torturing and killing pets and little animals ...... I wonder if someone will get the idea, and follow up on these kind of actions, stopping a serial killer in his beginning and give him treatment, is way much better than waiting until he make his first human killings..... I say him, as so much studies shows serial killers (the male ones) they always started with do this horrible things to pets and little animals, as it escalates eventually to kill humans......... Oh God. that is very scary.

Ok, so I'm in NZ with my girls and hubby and get a ph call from my mother in law last week, who's been watching the news in Lebanon which has shown a program of an astronomer who is predicting a massive earthquake for this region to happen on Monday!! Apparently there is a comet which is going to align with other planets and earth and it's going to trigger an earthquake which is going to sink nz and half destroy australia, japan and other countries!! I've looked on the internet and found some info on it but there's been no news of it here or anywhere else that I know of. anyone heard anything over there? edited by exile on 23/09/2011 I have seen this video - is it the man who is in a lecture room and talking to the camera, and then every time he says something happened when this commit aligned with something? - is it is the one, I have seen it with some verses talking about armageddon/ judgment day, so not every thing you have to believe it..... true that will be a something when all of them aligned on one line - or so - but I do not think there will be all the horrors that man said it will happen...... By the way, since 90's there were always end of day date and it always turn up to be.... Nothing happens!!!! so relax and take it easy.... as that page says in FB about that( I had survived end of days ....) so it won't happen. :) have a glass of vino ;)

I know exactly this feeling. people become obsessed with their gadgets, it irritate me when I find someone is talking about his smart phone, or the latest sport car he bought, or doing this or doing that. it remind me of a photographer on FB, on his page, he had a strange photo, look like a woman, but you don't see the woman herself, you see only the skirt, the shoes, the pashmina her phone and lipstick, and lastly the driver door of a yellow car..... people tend to forget their own personality, and become all about what they buy, and in the process forget the most important thing, themselves. I have a mac computer, but I don't have the sticker of the apple on my car, I don't need to tell the world I have an apple product. this what I call: show off.

in general, JET means it's 2 engine aircraft :\: as per my experiences in that; they have no idea which aircraft they will use! ETOPS(the new term EROPS) is more concerned about the planning for the flight plan, which means: any airliner have aircraft happen to be more than 2 engine, they have to be approved for EROPS, so - God forbid - incase of emergency, the aircraft is certified to land in specific alternate (s) had been designated by the general civil aviations for that aircraft type.... in the old times it was limited time, and it's very technical point, coz if the aircraft if not approved, it won't fly to the this area....does it make sense ? in total: it's if $h!t hits the fan, the aircraft is authorized to land in these alternate airfield - not necessary airports - and this when the aircraft mostly flying over sea masses - like oceans .

:\: grow backward ???? sorry if you got this impression from me. sometimes, I believe that too much information get the person confused and not knowing what really he/she wants. that's why I refuse having iPad, and iPhone look a like gadgets to enter our home, as it just make any person confused about what they really want. for me; I like to keep things more simple, when I buy a ticket for a flight, I check which one will give me more for what I payed for, hoping in A380 or Cessna doesn't make a difference at all with me, what is really matter, when I will arrive, so I can arrange other things...that's all.

Thanks ladies. I shall start again! When booking online with Emirates you get to a page where you choose your flight time aircraft etc I am Getting a choice between an ER or a 777 Jet W T. F Does that mean aircraft undecided or do they actually call one a Jet? WTF!!! why should any airline in the world tell the clients which ETOPS operating aircraft should he/she choose !!! :\: sorry to say: this doesn't concern the passenger at all what type of ETOPS the aircraft is flying under it. this is the concern of the flight planner/ flight dispatcher who do the flight plan :\::\::\: edited by Gorobattie on 21/09/2011 OMG....Did you really think that I was going to tell the Airline which aircraft I would like for the flight? Bonkers I may be...but that is pushing it a bit!! Anyway, nobody ever answered me as to why EMirates lists all of the aircraft except on one flight where they write 777 JET. Does that mean any of the 777 fleet or do they actually have an aircraft they call a JET, instead of a 300-ER or 200-LR ?? IT WAS ONE QUESTION......JET? TIA NO! My point is: does it matter what aircraft type will make a difference? it's only a transportation! it's like booking a taxi, do you ask them is it a Lamborghini or is it Hyundai ? and if they don't have Lamborghini, so will not take any taxi at all?!! Or you will just take the Hyundai??!! feeling that you were supposed to be serviced in Lamborghini, and you paid too much for the Hyundai? Appologies for any one have a Hyundai, Just made example - I have a Hyundai ;) Again something like that is the concern of the flight planner, he/she is the only one who knows how much this aircraft or that one can take how much load and how long time on a long rang cruse.... having in mind fuel consumption (maximizing the profit and minimizing the coasts ) that include last minute changes and aircraft changes for that particular reason ....... that's why I said it doesn't concur that passengers at all, passengers wants only to fly from point A to point B, and this is what any passenger in the world is paying for. knowing what aircraft type is unnecessary information giving to passengers. that was my point.;) edited by Gorobattie on 22/09/2011

I remember not too long ago a thread about pillows, but I can't find it at all. But I also cannot sleep for another night on the bricks that are currently serving as pillows in my house. Where can I find the best pillows in Dubai? Is there some sort of Ritz Carleton store, I vaguely remember??? I had seen the Ritz Carlton brand in Jashenmal (spl?) they sell each pillow prices start from 300 DHS..
