Maariyah - try keeping some Polo mints handy - those really helped me at times. And like many of the posters have already mentioned, and even though you may not feel like it, try to eat small amounts of food throughout the day. One of the other things that helped me was keeping some food (i.e. crackers, melba toast, pretzels, ginger biscuits etc.) at the bedside table and eating that very early in the morning even before I got out of bed. It was awful as I had to force myself to eat that early in the morning but it did help sometimes. All the best and you will get through this even though it feels like forever right now!

I'm BACK :) Level 1 Day 7 (albeit after a break of 5 days in between :\: ). As always the best part was when it came to an end but am so glad I finally managed to do it again! CT - all the best for your surgery and a super speedy recovery. DC - you're almost done with 30 days - that's AMAZING!! Is this the first 30 day shred you're doing or are you a 'regular' like CT? Edited to add a smiley :) edited by GreenQueen on 15/03/2011

Does anyone know where I can get the measles, mumps & rubella separately in dubai? Am curious - Are these single vaccines available in Dubai?

Thanks DC - real sweet of you to offer. DH was away but got back Thursday night and was a real star looking after me and the baby so I could try and rest all weekend. Am feeling better today - hopefully by tomorrow I can try and shred again. My right knee still feels a little sore so just have to go a little slower (I think my knee is just in shock from the jumping jacks/jump rope etc... I didn't do any 'jumpy exercises' while I was pregnant and you just don't realize how out of shape you've become until you try and do something like this... not to mention the 'few' extra pounds I have put on over the years ... cough cough!!). Once again, well done to you DC - it is great to see you so motivated, along with CT - helps motivate the rest of us!!

Fantastic DC - obviously the results are now showing!! Unfortunately, I skipped yesterday and looks like I'll have to skip today too (hangs head in shame) My knee had been bothering me for 2 days so I thought I'd take the day off yesterday anyway, and then I started feeling really rotten in the evening and looks like I have mastitis :( Fever, headache and basically feel like C**P :(

Lamb stir-fry with spinach & feta: http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/11737/lamb+stir+fry+with+spinach+feta You could increase the garlic and omit the vinegar... Also I like the cold feta on top (as per the recipe) but DH likes to stir it in to get a bit melty in the pan. Ooh that sounds good - will try that next time! Last time I just ended up marinating with olive oil, rosemary, lemon juice, salt and pepper and then sticking them in the frying pan - turned out pretty good!

Wow CT very impressive results. I am turning 40 this year and would also like to slow down the steady movement of all bits southward (is that a word??) :\: I am almost back to my pre-pregnancy weight in terms of kgs but still have a lot of flab to lose and was already about 10kgs heavier than I should be when I got pregnant (all put on within 2 years of moving to Dubai :( ).. Many fitness gurus say that it is critical to rest your body at least once or twice a week when working out, so I am surprised that this is supposed to be done 30 days in a row. But perhaps the idea is to shock your body into changing and then after the first month, maybe you can take a break every 3-4 days - what do you think? Is anyone following any kind of diet along with the shredding? While I am not dieting per se, I always find that when i start working out more seriously, I do watch what I eat a little more. However, my sweet tooth is my biggest downfall :( :(

I reckon they'll fit on you once you stop BF. I had a great pair while I was BF and now... let's just say I'm convinced one of these days DH is going to come home and think we've adopted a spaniel. I squeezed back into my pre-pregnancy jeans 8 weeks post-birth (and when I say squeezed, it was literally a jump-off-the-wardrobe-into-them affair) and until I started Shredding, I barely changed. All my tops now have to have an elasticated waistband so the billowing material hides the serious muffin top. LOL - we are living parallel lives! The only top that I did find yesterday was one with an elasticated waistband - I was quite impressed at how well it hid the muffin top :) Great results Sharpie! Rudolph - completely agree with you about the love/hate relationship, although since I'm still really in the very early stages of this relationship, I'm leaning more towards the hate end of it If anyone else has great success stories, pls share away - I need all the motivation I can get!!! :\:

Abl where does her husband work, i.e. what area do they need to be in and what kind of visa will she be on? I thought it was illegal for a maid to work anywhere else besides at her sponsor's home. I have come across many maids who work a few hours in a home in exchange for accommodation, but I am afraid she may have a hard time finding someone who will provide accommodation and pay a salary for just a few hours of work a day. Then again, if she is doing the work of a full-time maid, you never know! I can pass the word on around here, but I live in the Green Community so am not sure if the location will work for them?

It is frustrating but we have to keep working towards that goal! I know what you mean though - I don't think many of my pre-pregnancy clothes will fit me properly anyway. I'm lucky as I can just about stuff myself back into my old jeans, but up top is another story :( I have gone from a rather modest 34 to a whopping 40 chest size and am assuming that will not change until after I stop breast-feeding so there's no chance of any of those clothes fitting me anytime soon!! On a more positive note, Level 1 Day 4 done. DH joined in today too :) :) P.S. - I HATE jumping jacks :(

Well done DC!! Well I went to try and do a little shopping today since I have nothing to wear. My pre-pregnancy clothes don't fit me (yet?!) and I refuse to wear my maternity clothes. I was holding off buying 'fat clothes' but got fed up of living in the same 2-3 things that I can just about pull on! Now after a failed shopping trip, I am even more determined to stick this out!

It's Jillian's way of saying 'chucked it in and collapsed in a heap on the rug'. Or 'took a five-second break to breathe out of backside'. LOL - thanks for the clarification (and the visual :\:). Struggled through Day 3 but it's done - are you really supposed to do this for 30 days in a row... maybe it's a 30 day workout over a 60 day period ;)

I remember seeing some at the salon in DIFC (i think it's called MAH salon, and I believe they have other branches in Dubai) but this was over a year ago so you might want to call them and check first. Also, The Hair Lounge at the Green Community (in Dubai Investment Park) sells them. HTH

Pentel - I just looked at the website and I think they are the same price (or even a little cheaper) here! I bought them from a lady called Sophia who sells 3-4 brands (she doesn't have the itti bitti tutto but she does have the d'lish) - I bought some cushie tushies for AED 100 each and on the website they are 17.50. And she does have a relatively cheaper option (called Real Nappies I think?) which I have bought but not tried yet.

I know RAKBANK does offer minor accounts so perhaps the other local banks do too? But as Missymoo said, I believe the mother is not allowed to be on the account with the child - only the father :\: edited by GreenQueen on 14/02/2011

Wow thanks Sandy - I only washed them 3 times so maybe I should run them through the wash a few more times. I did try the Itti-Bitti D'Lish one today on DD but it leaked (wee) within 2 hours so maybe I need to wash it a few more times!

Thanks Pentel - have read many of Green-ish's posts in the past and am pretty sure she recommended washing at least 3 times or more, but I have baby-brain now and cannot remember for sure :\: And those were the posts I was searching for but cannot find them anymore!! Have now washed them 3 times so hopefully that's sufficient!

Thanks Tanya - am relieved to hear that it's unusual for kids under 1 to get chicken pox. Unfortunately the rash is on my trunk and as I am bf DD must have definitely been exposed. The incubation period is 2 weeks so I am waiting to see if she gets any symptoms. Am hoping she will be lucky and have very mild symptoms and then it will be over and done with instead of her getting it later on! Was just wondering if anyone had a similar experience and how sick their kids got?!

Scarlett78 - am just wondering if your little baby contracted chicken pox last year and if so, how bad was it? Did you have to do any kind of treatment? I have shingles and before i knew what it was I unknowingly must have exposed my 9 week old baby. Am hoping she'll get some immunity from me, but am still worried about her getting chicken pox. Has anyone had such a young baby get chicken pox?

I would definitely be interested. My DD is only 2.5 months old and I want to switch to cloth but just got so confused with the different types. I felt like the one size options would have been too big on her when she was born and i did not want to splash out on too many different sized ones and I had her in the States in winter so washing every day without any help and no sunlight was not really an attractive option. BUT now that we're back, I'd really like to switch to cloth as my supply of organic, chlorine-free diapers that I brought back from the States is starting to diminish fast :) What brands do you ladies use and are they available here?
