Hi, did you manage to find a dr? I just diagnosed my daughter with an upper lip tie myself.... All the doctors who saw her never picked it. She suffers from terrible gas.... Clicks when she feeds... Its visibly obvious too... Thanks! Hope your little one is well!

Hi all. I'm due in August and my doctor also works with either Medcare or Al Garhoud. I spent a night in Al Garoud in January due to some complications in the first trimester and they were brilliant. I will be delivering there. I've heard Medcare tend to take newborns to ICU regardless of whether anything is wrong.... they make money out of it apparently. There are another two threads here about the two hospitals and some mums who already delivered in Al Garhoud. Hope this helps springysarah :) [url=http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/topic184326-has-anyone-delivered-at-the-new-al-garhoud-private-hospital.aspx '>link[/url'> and [url=http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/topic197012-al-garhound-or-medcare-hospital--any-advice.aspx'>link[/url'>

Hi All. I'm 27 weeks and also have to choose between Medcare and Al Garhoud. My mind is made up on Al Garhoud. I was admitted there back in January for some complications and had a great experience, so sticking with it :) Good luck mimosa80! All the best with your delivery!

Hi Girls. In response to BellaUk, I also came off the pill and started trying right away. And got pregnant right away! We are now 7 months pregnant :) We thought it would take at least 3-6 months to get pregnant, like many couples. I had been on the pill for ten years with only one break which worried me although my doctor assured me that having been on the pill for a long time doesn't necessarily mean you will not ovulate straight away. I researched it and found that the hormones of the pill leave your body within 24-48 hours hence ovulation is very likely! I used ovulation tests around the time of my supposed ovulation which came back negative?? every time despite that I had massive ovulation pains (which I had never experienced before) in both ovaries. Just like stabbing pains on both sides. I got a positive pregnancy test three days before my period was due! :) Good Luck girls! My advice, ditch the ovulation tests, take your prenatal vitamins, relax and have fun!

Hi all. I'm 21 weeks now and I've been to Bliss reflexology at garhoud a few times. They seem to know what they are doing with their pregnancy massage. The staff are trained in this type of massage and they use a spcial organic oil. I really enjoyed it.

Congratulations srdoucet and EDF8! :) You've welcomed the little miracles into your lives, amazing. Hope you're all doing well. Thank you for sharing with us. I just heard that Al Garhoud hospital was one of the first this year to receive international accreditation (seeing it's a new hospital) while some that have been around for a while have not obtained it yet. I'll still tour Medcare but we've pretty much decided on Al Garhoud.

Thank you Masafi Mama! I've posted on another thread here about my great experience at Al Garoud too, not with delivery though. I was impressed with the service. I'm still toying with Medcare or Al Garhoud and would appreciate advice!

Although I'm still trying to decide between Medcare and AL Garhoud for my delivery I wanted to share my experience with Al Garhoud last month. It was unfortunate that I had to be admitted for a threatened first trimester miscarriage but the good news is that my baby was saved and my pregnancy is progressing well! I must say I was IMPRESSED with all levels of service at Al Garhoud, from the moment I stepped inside until I was discharged the following day. The receptionists, nurses, doctors even cleaning staff were attentive, kind and professional. The hospital is very clean and quiet. The nurses attended to my calls within seconds, literally. The food was excellent. I'm trying to find out more information regarding delivery there (postnatal care of baby etc). So far though the scales are tipping towards Al Garhoud for me. Please share if you've delivered there or if you think Medcare is better. Thanks
