Phokoje, I have never ever been made to feel uncomfortable here in Qatar, certainly have not been groped, although I know JoyceB was, and even though parks, zoos, outdoor activities are limited, it is definitely not an awful place - and the Qataris are certainly not unfriendly - the few that I have met anyway. My family and I are safe and everyone is very helpful. You can have an awful Doha day as most of us have experienced but then I also used to have bad days from where I come from. The weather at the moment is fabulous except for the summer months. Driving here can make you go into a rage, but on most days I have a good experience on the roads. That is my experience anyway.

BanathyPie, I have to agree wholeheartedly with your comments below. My girls are doing exceptionally well at the scool and the teachers are hands on. My husband was left with the responsibility of enrolling the girls into a school as we had not yet come to Doha. He saw all the schools - DMBS was very welcoming and the facilities far surpassed many of the other schools. Our children's academic progress is a testimony to that.

Hi Zoos, my daughters are in DMBS in Yrs 3 and 7. They have been at the school for 18 months and we are all very happy. As parents we are very hands on with regard to their school and education. We will be getting a new Principal after this academic year is over as after 30 years of being in the education sector is going to be retiring. I have friends who have children in many of the schools mentioned on the board some happy and some not. Our children's teachers so far have been fantastic and have always had an open door policy with us. The school has got fantastic facilities and hopefully this year will have IB recognition. I hope I have been of some help. Good luck in your quest to find a school.
