If you can travel to Mohammed Bin Zayed City near the Mazayed Mall there is a lovely GP clinic called Sama Medical centre. The Dr is just lovely, more like my GP in the UK. Small and very friendly. Here is the facebook page https://www.facebook.com/SamaMedicalcomplex?fref=ts They are starting to do Gynocology and have a dentist there too. I hate Dr's but would recommend this place to everyone as he puts you at ease immediately.

Will look for your DS's pic in a moment. I fully understand the bond between mother and son. I have a 30 year old DS in Dubai and I miss him like crazy. We saw him at Christmas and I blubbed all the way to the airport. What upset me more was seeing his face crumple as our taxi moved away from outside his apartment! He's no mummy's boy but we are lucky enough that we have a very close bond with both him and his 33 year old sister. He's home in June for 3 weeks and we are all going away for a week to a big house in the Highlands. Looking forward to our weekly skype session on Sunday :) x Thanks to technology it is easier to keep in touch these days, sent photos via phone, talk on the internet, order stuff on line for them to get a little something in the post now and again. We are meeting up with my son in Egypt for Easter so he can finish his diving course. x x x

If I could rewind and replay it would be great. I was lucky enough to be a stay at home mother so he can blame me for his personality. I think being away from home has taught both my son and I how much we love each other. Just waiting for the idle blighter to wake up so I can wish him 'Happy Birthday' I think I should mention to Joe about having a thank-you to me added on his parchment the times he's wanted to jack it in, can't find a book, proof read his assignments it's only fair right lol.

My boys used to email me their assignments for me to edit before they submitted them. Just lots of SKYPE, phone, texts, Facebook and Instagram is the way to go. It is for their future - education is everything. I do think it is much harder on us than it is on them. You made the right choice sending him away for university. Just keep him feeling secure, you are always behind him. He knows we are a flight away, that my phone is on day and night. Joe too sends me his work via skype. Sad thing is you know when people say 'oh they only come back at weekends to get their washing done' I would love that because then I would see him x

I never stop missing him, there is a big gap in the house. He has had a 3000 word project to do and he text me to say he wanted to come home. It broke my heart. He is having food stolen from his fridge too! The love for your children blows any other love away, it's unconditional. Thank you for your vote. x x Done!!!!!!! - wish him luck from an equally worried mother of 2 sons living abroad. Both have graduated uni now but the worries don't stop there. I always worry about cars, in particular. I think it is difficult when we are not "hands on" anymore. We can never stop being mothers and our sons never stop being our little boys.

Just an update that Nate is still missing in the Mohammed Bin Zayed City area of zone 17/01. If anyone has seen a dog matching his description please get in touch. It is my son's birthday in a few days time, when asked what he wanted he simply replied 'Nate back home'

The Cambridge is one of the cheaper schools in Abu Dhabi! It is well established unlike new builds like BISAD whose fees were double that of The Cambridge. We removed our son from BISAD and but him in the Cambridge (they didn't have room for him the first year we lived here) although he thought the school was great fun friend wise it's not about that is it, it's about their future. I am still highly delighted by The Cambridge school and you only have to see the results the children get to know it is a good school. Trouble is with a lot of the schools here they do not have the A level years added yet so you may find you have to change schools at A level time whereas the Cambridge goes from Kindergarten to A levels which is ideal.

All my 3 children went to Cambridge School and I totally disagree with Busybee. The school is fantastic with a wonderful headmaster. The classes are small and I would thoroughly recommend the school to anyone. My son joined the school 3 months into A/S levels and they gave him after school lessons for free to catch up and he is now studying law in the UK. What bearing Mussafah has to do with the school I have no idea................ it is nowhere near the industrial part of Mussafah!!!!! It's almost like you are implying a lower class of student would go there. Buses run from Abu Dhabi to the Cambridge bringing students from the capital. The fees have nothing to do with the standard of teaching, which is top notch. We moved our youngest son from BISAD school as it was a new school and very poor in education and was very expensive, the headmaster left, then the deputy head and the change over in staff at BISAD was huge. Cambridge School is in the top 3 schools in Abu Dhabi and OFSTED gave it an 'excellent' in every area. All the schools are moving from Abu Dhabi to this area to make room for buildings in Abu Dhabi. Don't be so snobbish about the area, fees. It's about an established school with excellent results. edited by Heliotropic on 28/10/2012

Hello, I am a British law student, just completed my first year and I am looking for work experience to fill the long summer over here. I am aware it is a different legal system but I think the experience would be invaluable. If anyone knows of any firm that would take me on it would be fantastic. Yours, Joe.

a friend of my husbands challenged a jet ski club same kind of story and until the court case came through the police held his passport. My son is starting Uni on Monday so this wasn't an option. I have written to Abu Dhabi Goverment with the photos now and will contact 7 days now, thanks for the tip.

I had to pay as he had our ID cards, she was a local lady who he called as I was not going to let it drop, the man was from Sudan. The thing that got to me is that they had ringed where other people had dented the jet ski before, obviously they had taken money off people and not repaired it. I will go to the police when we get back from Blighty. I have written to Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority complaints and contacted the National Newspaper. I said to her she could take my money but I would go to every social media website I knew of and it would cost her more in what she lost in revenue than what she had taken from me by the time I had finished.

it said listen out for Amadeus when you hear the tune text in Raddison Blu to 5180, it was the fact that when Jay questioned it they said big percentage of people voted within 30 seconds, okay so the tune lasts for 4 mins. So all the other sms' at 4 dirhams after the 30 seconds are disregarded. Hardly fair is it?

Most people don't have a message and number typed in at the ready, 30 seconds is not a fair competition. If they say sms in during the tune then it should be the duration of the tune.
