When I left DS1 at 1.5 month to go back to work, the guilt was overpowering. I finally quit my job to look after my children, when DS2 was born. And now I am burdened with the guilt of not contributing to the family income. Argh.

Good luck LD with your move :) We have decided to stay for some more time! Was dreading the move! And agree that EW is a lovely forum :) and a forum is only as good as it's people. I have met some lovely ladies on here and they have always been so supportive. I have been off EW for quite some time. But that's because I am now juggling housework and looking after two LOs all by myself. Would be back on EW more frequently very soon ;)

My bachelor husband is partying while I am stuck between two LOs in my bed. Nope this doesn't happen once a month. More like every week. Can rant all night on this.

So how many of you fight over the way the children are brought up?! According to DH, I spoil our children. And that is the main reason of our fights (everytime DS decides to throw a tantrum)!

I'm talking proper shout shouting matches..is that right? we can snipe and grump, but that doesnt count surely? Yep ... proper shouting matches! About once a month. And after the last one, I have decided never ever to argue with a man who is angry. He then puts ego before logic. *sounds like me just quietly* arh, they are all different, as are we, and there are many many dynamics that work well in partnerships that can seem unlikely to an outsider. Also, do bear in mind that an outpouring of emotion, whichever way that is expressed (ie, a good stand up shouting match)is a pressure valve relieved...it can do good. I guess the thing we 'fighters' have to keep in mind is that we stiil respect love and honour the other. When it becomes dismissive, derogotory or hate filled venom...then we can be wary. You love the person, hate their actions...if that makes any sense at all? (think have spent too long with 5 and 6 year olds :D) Agree and well said :)

My sister went looking for a blackberry that came in a red cover about a year ago. She went in to one of the stores in MOE to ask for one SIS: Do you have the blackberry in red SALES MAN: Yes Ma'am (He shows her the black one) SIS: No no, I want it in RED, my friend had it in red, do you sell them in red? (almost condescendingly the salesman replies) SALES MAN: Ma'am, there are no red blackberrys, thats why they're BLACKBERRYS not REDBERRYS :O LOL ....

Not sure what's the point of this thread and the article in the thread. Apple's competitors should have paid quite a lot of $$$ to put that out in dailymail ;) edited by hiccup on 04/05/2011

Thanks for asking the question sevenseconds :).... I have spent days thinking about this ... now that DS would be joining a school which is predominantly British / westerners and he is a skinny little chap. I was worried about being bullied too. I have cousins who are in Canada and Australia (migrated in the middle of school years from India) and have studied in schools which were obviously full of Canadians and Australians. They have even managed to get Canadian and Australian girlfriends / boyfriends ;) .... So there it is ... if they can.... so can our kids :) All that we as parents need to do is be there for our kids. edited by hiccup on 28/04/2011

Thanks everyone for all your replies. I understand its more about spaces now! Fees are almost the same in most of the premier schools and nurseries. And the reasonable yet good ones are already full for next 2-3 years :/: Now my only criteria seems to be closer to home! Homeschooling requires loads of patience and I dont think I have that right now!

Had 2.5 yr old DS circumcised 1.5 months ago. For medical reasons though. I can to some extent surely say that it isn't painful!! Because DS was up, running, jumping, kicking in less than 4 hours (time taken for the effects of GA to subside) He did complain of pain for about 2 days after the op but it was clearly not unbearable pain. No crying at all!! I was surprised as DS can bring down the whole house if he slightly bumped his head!! :/:

Hiccup what kind of schools/curriculum are you looking for? Also some idea of budget. I am sure there are good schools that can fit into your requirements for the LO. I prefer the IB over the A level. But I am very late in applying for schools :( ... DS would be 3 this july. So looking for FS1 space. And the search is frustrating!!

Mrs L I am comparing schools here and not here and another country. Wondering if DS would not be intelligent / smart if I put him in a school that charges me 14K per year? What exactly is the reason why people choose 30K over 15K? Is it bcos they can afford it or is it because the end results are smarter, wiser children?

Hiccup, that's a bit of a silly question isn't it? Yes some people do get school fees paid as part of package... But many don't. If you have school age children, they have to be educated, so you have to pay... And the prices at a great many schools here are not extortionate.... Yes they seem expensive if you are from a country that provides free education, but it's not free is it really? Not when your paying 40-50% tax Look at NYC school fees and then tell me that the fees here are extortionate...... Err ... I meant the schools that charge 30000 and up for foundation / kg. Obviously there are many schools that are cheaper. But I keep hearing this statement "you get what you pay for"?

Babies are better any day!!! My 2 month old is a sweetheart! Drinks and sleeps with little play time :) DS 1 is driving me nuts though! Another instance where DS cried non stop for half hour ... He wanted only RED color bubble gum from the 1dh vending machines you see in malls. :/: And leshell I know exactly what you go through! These little children have a mind of their own!!

So packing, shipping and shopping :D ... Not much time in hand to be on EW. You can mail me though ;) Great to hear DD is doing well :)

Hiya plumie :) ... I cant help you but just wanted to say you are not alone in this *trouble with breastfeeding* category :D DS would refuse to drink from me .... sometimes a complete day!! And I have to express to feed him or supplement him with formula. He is so much different from DS1 who used to prefer breast to bottle. But this fellow loves bottle more than breast :/: Hope the little one is doing great! Mine is pretty short tempered :\: Did you notice that with your little one?
