I was told to have a scan at 6 weeks and they did not see a heartbeat OR a fetal pole. I spent 4 days in tears, went back in another 4 days time for a further scan expecting bad news of a blighted ovum, only to see a healthy heartbeat. My sister did not see a heartbeat until 7 weeks. Did they see a fetal pole with you? Seeing that is a positive sign, also, are your HCG levels doubling or more over 48 hours? That is another positive sign of a viable pregnancy (if you aren't sure you could ask for an HCG blood test then another one after 48 hours to compare). My advice is don't read too much on the internet - it can really wind you up and make you so very upset. It is an agonizing wait though, it is awful and I really do feel for you. I hope the 7th brings you good news, if not, don't ever give up hope - some of us have to travel a longer journey than others, but they key to baby success is to never give up! x

I have been told that due to prior operations (fibroids) and the risk of my uterus rupturing I cannot carry to full term (due 26 December) I will need to have a C-section 3 weeks early - so looks like I'll be joining you ladies due around 4 or 5 December deliver too - exciting! Undecided on City Hospital or American yet - we will take tours of both and see which one we like best. You mostly all must be through your 12 week scans by now - well done if so, and good luck if not yet! I have to wait another 2.5 weeks :( Feeling okay so far but have 'quiet' moments. Have developed an aversion to spicy food and up at crazy hours during the night wanting to drink milk to satisfy my hungry tummy! Also have the sense of smell of a vampire!

Hi ladies. I'm now 9 weeks along (due Boxing Day) - 1st baby. Once the dreaded 12 weeks is over & done with (I'm still living in a state of fear!) I would love to meet all you all Due-December-Ladies. I work too but am available weekends. Oh yes, and I hear you littlelou, work clothes (actually, all clothes!) are becoming rather snug! Need to start a shopping mission...

Hi Emily I went through EXACTLY the same thing - no fetal pole seen at 6 weeks - I went through this the same dates as you did. I was devastated and unfortunately read too much on the internet (bad move) scaring myself so much that I was convinced I had lost my baby, so spent 4 painful days crying and worrying - only to find that when they scanned me 4 days later there was the little embryo with healthy heartbeat! I know what you mean about being overcome with emotion - I was sobbing right there on the ultrasound table! I am due 26 December, so 2 days after you. Good luck with your pregnancy - so pleased your scan was okay in the end - wonderful news!

Sarah80 - I phoned and made a complaint with the Consumer Protection Dept of the Dubai Economic Dept - they phoned me back to say that maybe there is "maybe" a problem with the trade licence and to try going to the office again in 10 days - or "some other time"! Apparently there are other branches in Dubai so myself & hubby are going to check out these other branches today to see whether they too are closed - will let you know how we get on.

Sarah80 I am about to go away on 2 weeks holiday (lovely start to the holiday!) and don't have time to do anything about it before I go...however when I get back I will contact the Economic Dept/Consumer Affairs Dept and will ask why they were closed down and what I can do about this (I will update this post). The sign on their premises window says that the DED have 'temporarily' closed them down? I do have an official receipt from them. I also took a business card while I was there and I checked the website - this is what it says: "ENTERPRISE DUBAI NOTICE: The enterprise-me business in Dubai is not associated with Enterprise Rent-A-Car and its use of the Enterprise marks are not authorized. If you would like to reserve a vehicle from Enterprise-Rent-A-Car, please click here." - Suggests they are having a lot of queries from people who've used Enterprise Me in Dubai? So far to me it seems that Enterprise Me were using the same logo/branding as the internationally popular Enterprise - even their business cards listed the 'legitimate' Enterprise website? Looking back I did try to phone them (on the day I needed the car) and they did not answer - I just figured they were busy and as they are located near my work I walked into their office instead, but perhaps they were using the legitimate Enterprise company's cards, illegally? I just find it strange that they had legitimate looking premises right here on Shk Zayed Rd. I wonder if the Dubai dodgy Enterprise were a franchise of the 'legitimate' Enterprise who now don't want to know about the Dubai franchise? <em>edited by hokeypokey on 24/06/2012</em>

Thanks mumto2 and Di@DXB - I will take both of those steps. Grrr so annoyed, I'm usually so careful about these things but I had expected my car to be ready from the garage that day, it was not, and I needed to be in Abu Dhabi in an hour's time so I HAD to rent the car. [SIGH'> This city tires me some days...

Does anyone know anywhere that does Body Pump classes (for both men & women) in the Downtown Burj Khalifa or DIFC area? I already know of Fitness First - but I've been told I need to sign up to a full gym membership, which I do not need/want to do. I would just like to sign up for the classes only.
