Hi Sazzle I'm nicnac2015's mum. She told me about your upcoming op. Would be pleased to answer any questions you may have. (Maybe I could pop in to see you even) In all my years in Dubai ( off and on) I never did meet anyone else with a colostomy, and I know how isolated you must feel. Will be thinking of you and shall log in regularly to check on any replies. Wishing you the best for your op and a good recovery. xx?

Just wanted to praise Rentacrib. They had been recommended to me after a post on here. My two grandchildren aged 4 and 7 were coming to Dubai for the first time and I needed to rent two booster car seats. I booked from the UK and when I arrived here they were delivered and collected on time. Excellent quality seats too. Just felt they were worth a mention! ???

Hi - I have grandchildren arriving to stay during October and need to acquire two child car seats for a couple of weeks. Does anyone know where I might hire or borrow them. Thanks. x

Thanks Bird. We do already have designs and know what we want - all we need is reliable fitters to carry out a good job. I wonder if they would do the work without the interior design service. Thanks for your reply. xxx

Hi - not been on here for a while. We live in the Greens apartments and up to now our Dewa and Du was paid by landlord. A/C is covered but he is now suggesting he puts up rent OR we pay our own Dewa and Du. Just wondered if anyone might be able to suggest an approx cost for one bed apt, basic tv package, broadband. Thanks, in anticipation. X

I must recommend the House of Prose! There is one on Beach Road and one in the Dunfermline Garden Centre on SZR. They have a fantastic selection of second hand books. You buy one then can take it back after you have read it and they will give you half what you paid toward your next one. Then your book shelves don't fill up! The coffee shop is good too! Feline Friends stall at the Arte craft fairs is also excellent. Happy reading! ;)

I pray that someone from some unknown Ministry of Quality Control and Customer Rights Department reads this thread and realizes the mockery. I don't know if one such ministry exists but if they do, they ought to straighten things with stores and businesses making life **** for consumers who've been dealt a faulty product. It must have been a somewhat daunting experience but its a funny read nonetheless. You might have more success going to the Ministry of Magic!!! lol! Oh for such a thing here!

My son and family were here last October and bought car booster seats that doubled as little back packs/ rucksacks made by Trunki. He did buy them in the UK but you might be able to get them here or get them sent. They were excellent for taxis and also held sunhats, sun screen, bottle of water and a favourite toy or two. Trunki originally were on the Dragon's Den selling pull-along cases in an elephant shape for kids. Just an idea! :)

Hi Sarawhite - my DH is also Type 2 and started Byetta several years ago to supplement Humulin ( he is older and has had Diabetes for at least 15 years ). It did help his BS levels in as much that it enabled him to reduce the amount of insulin he took daily. We don't see a GP here for his Diabetes and still manage yearly checks in the Uk. I haven't heard of Victoza so will look into that when we go home. :)

Hi Special M if you are looking at unfurnished apartments you will get a one bed in the Greens for that price also Tecom. The Greens have a nice village type feel to them with some local shops within walking distance. Traffic isn't too bad either! :)

As both a mommy with my kids and grandchildren back home and a daughter with an elderly mommy back home I just wanted to give you a big hug orchard and hope you can talk to DH or a good pal about this - the sooner the better. Can you send her a text or an E mail even if it's just to say you love and miss her? Thinking of you! x

I do think that the personal touch might be best. Tell him of your concerns regarding your file and the implications for your gratuity. Let him see that you are indeed injured and explain about your hospital trip. I hope it works out for you. I do hope your wrist mends quickly and that you are more comfortable soon. x;)

Hi Mammina - I believe that the DUCTAC centre at MOE has watercolour classes run by Maria Peat. It's only one day a week however your mum would be able to just pay for the classes she can attend rather than a whole block. She tutors all abilities. I hope she enjoys watercolour - a lovely medium. :)
