Its all very relative . Im in the minority as I think Doha is traffic heaven ( compared to where Ive driven before ) If your husband is Italian ( again , depends which part of Italy ) he will probably think its a breeze driving here .

For this budget , you can easily find a nice villa in Gharraffa ( area ) . Its a nice area , close to malls , some schools , hypermarkets etc.... Lots of compounds there . You might want to check it out .

Finding a school place can be tricky . Apply to as many as you can until you can secure a place in ANY school then you can wait till one becomes available in the school of your choice . There are a number of British Schools I can think of : DBS , Newton , Doha College or Sherborne . Good Luck !

Usually , if you can get one child in - the other one gets pushed up the waiting lists and can get a place faster . ( sibling priority ) . But I understand that with a year as critical as year 11 you wouldnt want to take the risk .

I know the facilities are fantastic ! It is one of the best schools ,if you can get in . Like lalala said , preference is given to Qataris and then QF personnel . We tried applying years ago and they wouldnt even put us on the waiting list . If you have a place there , that would be great .

As far as I know , ACS do not have a school uniform . My advice would be to apply to as many schools as you can . School places here are a BIG problem .

It depends on where you are working and the company culture . In my previous job ( Law firm ) we were explicitly told that open toe sandals were not allowed . I now work for a Governmental organization , they dont care about shoes but we were handed a memo detailing the guidelines of acceptable work wear in the office .

Hi , I lost my licence a while back . You do not need a police report or a letter from your sponsor . You just go to the traffic department and report it . You pay 400 QR and they issue you a new one . Your details will be on the system ( lets hope you didnt lose your ID too ) . The expiration date remains the same as the old one . Hope this helps .

They ask for your last payslip to make sure they dont overpay you . So if you make x , they want to make sure they dont pay you more than say x plus 10 % .

One of my very good friends who used to live here is Jewish . She never advertised it but didnt actively try to hide it either . And another friend was married to a Jewish man . Again - no announcements everywhere they go but among friends ( some who are practicing Muslims and Arab by the way ) we all knew . No big deal . I would say just be careful at first .

It depends on what kind of doctor you are looking for . Generally , I find that no hospital or clinic has it all . I would go to one place to treat one thing and then go to a different place to get something else looked at . Would be more helpful if you told us what specific doctor you are looking for .

What does your contract say ? How much notice should you give ? If you have done nothing wrong and give timely notice it is unlikely that there will be issues . Again it all goes back to your contract .

Im pretty sure DESS does not book slots for corporations . My children go there and I cannot sing the praises of the school enough . I would apply to several schools ( even ones that would not be the 1st or even second choice ) as places really are scarce . Good Luck !

Yvonne Depending on what passport you hold , he can come and live with you but he will need to do regular 'visa runs ' to Dubai or Bahrain .
