as you said yes you can only renew once at immigration on 19th after that you must do visa run up to hatta or al ain etc. if you drive a rental car make sure you pay for oman insurance and get their permission. residence visa: tawtheeq is normally done by the landlord/owner but in cases of raha gardens (aldar) or al reef (manazel) etc they will give you the tawtheeq. this is a new bit of paperwork come in last couple of years.... once the tawtheeq has been raised for your "unit" it will be in the system and subsquent tenancy contracts will be included.... you would need to give me more information as to where exactly in order to give you specific information. the tenancy contract is now a requirement of the residence visa as is the emirates id they are connected. if company accomodation that is different too. normally you would need to get the name of the tenancy agreement to request it and that normally because they are the employee etc. Thank you for your reply. I was a little worried if I can't do any of visa runs either if I renew once from the immigration. Next time, I probably will fly to Oman if I need to. We live in Saadiyat Island, I wonder if there's a fee involved to get our tenancy contract attested by Tawtheeq. And if there's any other documents needed and etc since I do not want the process to be delayed or anything. How long does the process take? Another question, I have my marriage license authenticated from the UAE Embassy in the US and my next step is to take the license to UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abu Dhabi. Does it need to be translated in Arabic? and do I need to be there with my husband or I can go there alone? I greatly appreciate your help always, I'd like to join the coffee meeting next time if I can! Hope you have a great day!!:) edited by Hyeyon on 01/02/2014

Thank you all for your kind reply! I’m coming from the west coast of the US and was raised in one of the most dramatic weather cities, Chicago… and I have to say, I just can’t stand a cold weather. I guess that’s why I wanted to get rid of any winter jackets & coats I have (hoping not to live anywhere too cold again) but I strongly agree that I have a good chance of visiting so many other countries with colder winter. Your comments are so valuable and it really helps me so much! Thank you all very much!:) edited by Hyeyon on 29/10/2013
