Does anyone live here or know anything about Al Seef? Pros and Cons?? Rent being pushed up in ARG and just not going to pay it - already way too expensive so looking around.. really only need 3 bed plus maid but 4 bed is good too.... replies on a postcard!! thank you I am surprised they are increasing your rent, there are so many empty villas at ARG. I have seen many starting at 170K. Maybe you could move to another one there also. Check dubizzle.

I think Paris is overrated, but if you've never been there, you should go at least once. I prefer Italy!.

I dont really think it's a problem. We have stayed in lots of hotels in the UAE. I always booked under my name, and nobody ever checks on my husband. I dont have his same lastname, we are from different countries, I dont usually use my wedding ring when I stay at a hotel (scared to lose it), and we look young (many ppl think we are actually dating, not married), we have never been asked anything. Even if they asked them your friends can say they are married, I dont think they are going to ask for a wedding certificate, I dont carry mine around!. How can the hotel prove they are not married???.

The problem is that I have to drive almost 1/2 hour to work, and work full time so that is another reason why I dont like to take it, but I will try it in the evenings better.

We love to travel and see new exotic places, and would like to go for a 1-2 week trip in May before the baby comes inshallah. I will be 5 months pregnant by then. I would like a place where I can relax but also do some sightseeing. I dont think I can just go to a beach and only relax, need to explore the place but I know I wont have the same energy as before, it wont be the same as all our hectic trips. It could be a place with no beach also. Could you recommend some places?. It has to be place with good hygienic and medical standards as I dont want to take risks. We thought of Maldives, Cyprus, South Africa (Cape Town and surroundings), UK (London and surroundings) but I dont know as it is my first pregnancy and I dont really know what to expect, South Africa and UK may be too hectic, right?. TIA.

I was prescribed Navidoxine for my nauseas which I am only taking when I get vomit as I dont want to take many medicines ( I am not vomiting as often as before). My vomit usually comes in the evenings and when I take the tablet the vomit still continues usually the whole evening. The following day I usually feel better (although extremely tired) but I dont know if it is due to the medicine or my body is just getting better. Is Navidoxine supposed to start working right away (because it is not happening to me) or takes a few hours to work?. Thank you.

I am 34 and I am pregnant with my first, we TTC using the temperature/mucus method and I got pregnant on the first month trying, so dont worry too much about the age. Why dont you you give more time to this method?. www.fertilityonline.com has a lot of info. I read that even using lube can decrease your chances so it would be good to read a lot on how to improve the chances to conceive naturally. If you have has previous m/c that could be due to low progesterone, so maybe you could ask your doctor when you get pregnant to check on it. Last, dont not stress too much as that affects fertility. Relax. Sometimes it takes a bit longer than expected, just have faith and patience.

I asked the question recently and got some tips, just do a search. I think you can control it somehow, but some days for me are impossible as I cannot even keep water down. Dr prescribed Navidoxine, I have taken it only once but it made me very tired, but I think is better than not being able to eat anything and getting so dehydrated and weak. Hope it gets better for you.

can I have his number please?. Today I am 7 weeks, and so far I have seen the general doctor once for general pregnancy exams but she told me that by week 8 I could go for a sonogram, but I would prefer going to an Obs and not just a general doctor. BTW, does he do the sonograms himself or he gives us a referal?. Thanks a lot.

great ideas ladies! http://www.babybay.de/ This is what is recommended in Germany. It's brilliant and a good compromise between cosleeping and having baby in their own bed. I desperately wanted to get one like this when I first moved to Dubai but couldn't find it anywhere. So I settled for a moses basket right next to my bed. That way I could just reach over and grab DD when she wanted to be fed. I had her close by but without the risk of rolling over her. A friend of mine modified an IKEA crib and attached it to her bed same way as the "Baby Bay". Worked great for her and LO. I got a similar cot from babyshop and put it between wall and our bed and removed the side next to the bed. DS sleeps in that now :) And with the sale nowm u can get a cot for around AED500 edited by shaf on 23/01/2011

what about if your husband snores very loud?. Could the baby sleep?. sometimes I feel that when the baby comes I will sleep in the baby room with baby so I can take a break from my DH's snoring and also wont disturb DH at night when the baby wakes up!. I All u really need is a pair of working boobs, diapers and some sleep suits and you are set to go. Everything else really depends on lifestyle and as and when required :) Well thats my opinion!:) It's nice to see lists of things you may need, I personally cannot stand things to be wasted and I didn't want to buy anything that I wouldn't use, so I agree with the above sentiment. It is very exciting to look though and it's all part of the anticipation of baby's arrival. Yup! Very exciting! I have baby 2 due next month, and its quite difficult not to buy everything u see! :D But I still believe very strongly in co-sleeping. My DH almost rolled over DS when he was just born.. and we had to keep pillows betwen him and DS inititally. But its such pure joy to cuddle up to baby at night and sleep. And to see him/her awake first thing in the morning. And yes, the father maybe a risk to the newborn in bed, but its impoosible for the mother to harm her newborn in bed unless she is drunk or something. Heck! A new mother wakes up if she hears a cat mewing thinkings its her baby! :) And yes, we are having a bit of a tough time moving DS to the cot, but its happening and we wouldnt change the past few months of co-sleeping by having trained him earlier. And mothers lose less sleep when the baby is sleeping next to her. Stick the boob in at night and u both get to sleep. Anyways, wat I always tell new mothers, google has no kids, but it has a lot of research material available. Read read read and do what is best for you and your baby. And dont lose precious moments for a few bits of sleep :)

It is good to have a list specially for clueless first time mothers. Thank you. I dont think co-sleeping is meant for everyone, my husband moves a lot and sometimes even puts his arm on my face, I think he could easily injured a baby, so I would not risk. But my parents did it, and so DH's parents. I think the breast pump is very useful for working moms, that is one of the first things I plan to buy.

I am 34 but I dont look like, people think I am 25 somethimes even 18. The inmigration officer last time was telling me he was going to send me to passport control because I didnt even look 18 to him, he kept looking at me (I guess it was the casual clothes and lack of makeup, but no way, my skin is not that great). I think is mostly genes, since I was a teenager I always looked younger. Also when you are petite, no matter what you always look younger. It can be good or bad. When you are an engineer in a male dominate environment, they can really understimate you.

I know it is kind of early but I already started to think on the amount of things I have to buy for the baby and even for myself (maternity clothes, etc) as I am first time mum. We would like to go for a pre-baby trip when I will be 4-5 months pregnant, and UK is one of the choices as we have never been there. So, do you ladies think it would be worth going there and doing some shopping?. How are the prices compared to here?. What things would be worth buying there instead of here?. TIA

Thanks, actually my friend has everything I think since she has another girl. I already bought her some gold baby earrings (they pierce the babies ears since they are small, they are from India) that cost me 200 dhs ( got a good deal) but my husband thinks is too less that I should have spent another 100 dhs, what do you think?

We are thinking of getting a simple inexpensive karaoke. What are the best options? We saw some in the stores but they come with a DVD player, speakers, etc (a lot of stuff). We want something simple, dont want more boxes in the TV cabinet. Our DVD player says it has karaoke mode, what does that mean?, can I use it as a karaoke if I get karaoke DVD's and microphone?. A bit clueless.
