Forgive me if I am being daft or have somehow missed some important news along the line over the years. But why does Iran pose. A threat to the US?when did Iran invade, bomb another country? The only country in the world who has ever used nuclear Bombs for killing innocent people, was the US of A themselves! Now they are looking for nuclear bombs around the world. First Iraq, now Iran..... Its all about black gold Sure is!

I have mentioned this before on this forum. If one wants a good variety of Iranian food, that tastes authentic like grandma's cooking, that is a fab option for non Iranians as it is a complete buffet to choose from, is this Iranian club. Buffet on Fridays and Saturdays , great value, only 70 dirhams. edited by Irooni on 14/02/2012

I lived in Iran couple of years back. Iranians hospitality is out of the world, they make you feel very much at home and one among them. It was a lovely experience - beautiful place, loving prople and awesome food! I make Iranian food at home now and infact even today. I have been to some good and bad restaurants here. Danial dubai- bad. Danial sharjah - better Sadaf dubai - fine Sadaf Sharjah - awesome! I have forgotten the names of many but Sadaf Sharjah is the winner hands down! Thanks for all th lovely compliments abut my homeland xxx

So, 1 for Abshar and 1 for Tehran... guess that means I need to try both:) How do they compare to Sadaf, which is the only Iranian restaurant we have really tried here in UAE. We used to eat at one in DC all the time back in the day. Sadaf a bit mediocre compared to Tehran. Try Tehran first you won't go anywhere else.

Irooni what do you think of Farsi? I liked it there but I am not Iranian so maybe to my tastebuds it was nice but to a native it will not be authentic. Would like to know your thoughts thank you I have never been glamour girl. I highly recommend Tehran restaurant on beach road. Quite pricey compared to other restaurants but worth every penny.

Irooni....yes I have (whatever the spelling). I did a tour there with DH (organised by theIran Travelling Center) a few years ago...Tehran, Shiraz, Yazd and Esfahan. We loved Iran and have very happy memories of the country and the lovely people we met. Every morning when i get out of bed, I see the beautiful carpet I bought there. Now that we live here, we'll definitely do another trip there :) How lovely suze. So glad you have fond memories of my beautiful homeland. I have never been to yazd:(

It's best if you just have it at the restaurant! The cut of meat is very important and extremely hard to get right at home. Even Iranians who are experts at the cuisine leave this particular kabab to chefs at the restaurant.

Hi Irooni or anyone else who knows... I am curious if you know how to marinate beef to make it so tender (like in the restaurants - the grilled kind)... I am not a meat person, but I love Persian grilled beef :-) Does it look like this? http://www.iranchamber.com/recipes/meat/kabab_barg.php edited by Irooni on 14/02/2012

I haven't been to Shabestan but would love to someday. So far the best Iranian food I've had in Dubai is at the Noon-o-Kabab chain. We get takeaways from their branch in Time Square Center quite often. Fabulous kebabs, oh, so juicy and tender, and the rice and stews that go with it are brilliant. Noon o kebab is good for take out.

Iranian food is yummy. You really need to eat at someone’s house to experience the real taste. Very true:) since most restaurants can only make kebabs.

I would love a recommendation on where TO go for good Iranian food. I lived there for 3 years in the 70s as a child and still dream about the delicious food... Tehran jumeirah is the best, I have been to. Abshar not that great either.

Ever ever go to Danial restaurant in Mazaya Centre! The worst dining experience of my life! Had to spread the word. Agree, It really is rubbish. I don`t know what do they do to their food but everything from the salads to the meats tastes the same! Which is like nothing....nothing....it has absolutely no taste!

I think to a westerner it may be the same. As you would look at it all as rice and kebabs! But to us it is very different. We don't use a lot of spice in Iranian food. Salt, pepper and saffron! That's it! The way we make our rice is completely unique. The marinade of our kebabs is different. Iranian kebabs are very tender compared to the typical Lebanese ones. We also have a lot of different stews, with vegetables and herbs. Also mixed rice dishes, like rice with broad beans and dill and lamb, rice with chicken and barberries... I will link a photo gallery for you.
