Wow-- which supermarket is this? I think that people get a bit too upset over grape-samplers but opening packets is really out of line! I tend to witness "improper sampling behaviour" at buffets, e.g. (1) picking up and squeezing every bread roll before selecting one, (2) picking up a crêpe, sniffing it, taking a bite, not liking it and flinging it back in the chafing dish, (3) tasting a salad-bar item directly from the serving spoon and putting the spoon back into the serving bowl... Nice! Oh my..... Yuck!

Perhaps Qizzme is calling on advice/experience from a trusted forum to her. Why does it need to have anything to do with the UAE? What has hotels in Rome, depression, detergent, presents, got to do with the UAE? It's all about asking atrusted source. So true!

I only use vanish (because it works on most things!) I don't have children but the OH keeps me busy with the washing! I sometimes wonder why he always buys white t-shirts and shirts, but then again I always keep a good supply of vanish so by the time they are back in his wardrobe they are as good as new! I use vanish spray first, and then add vanish and Clorox oxy to every wash.

To me, DSO is the most central point in Dubai. No, other place in dubai is literally one minute away from motorways. You live the compound and the option of al ain road, emirates road and by pass road are all under 2 minutes away. Emirates road to either direction, are accessible. Choitrams, Spinneys, costa, starbucks, a bookstore, MMI, a video rental, several groceries and laundries and 2 pharmacies, are all in the area. MCC and dubai mall are just 12 minutes, 15 minutes to festival, 20 mins to central shiekh zayed, jumeirah and deira. 15 minutes to city hospital and American, 10 minutes to AR. The furthest points are 25 minutes to MOE and half an hour to New dubai bits, like emirates living, marina and the rest. The roads are great, no construction, pretty roundabouts. All in all a fab fab fab place to live. shhhhh too many people will come here now! I like it being quiet ;) ;) Oh lord. I know! That's why I thought live the academic city road and ras al khor route out! Lol x

I was furious when one of the Moms at school told her 5 yr old daughter the TRUTH....DS came home with a load of questions because this girl had blabbed it all out. I told her mother that it was not appropriate....she disagreed and told me where to shove it. Anyway, TG for C-Sect scars, that got me a good escape for a while. What is inappropriate about the truth? This is not religion, it is biology. The subject is only dark and dirty if parents treat it that way. I never said it was dark and dirty. I do not like to tell children things that are not age appropriate. Understanding how babies are made is not 'normal' for a 5 year old. Like like like:)

Hahaha! You should hear what tell my children! Mummys and daddys get together, hug and hold each other, say a prayer and ask god for a baby and he then gives mummy the baby! And they all come from mummy's tummy! Thank god for my several hernia operations, got the scars to prove it despite 2 natural births, Not:)) edited by Irooni on 23/01/2012

So a couple of questions, ladies. Other than the passports and photos do I take anything else with me? Oh, and cash. Now, if I go to EGHQ, will all the paperwork and finger printing be done, the same day? If I go to the typing centre only the paperwork will be done? When and where will the finger printing be done? When does the fine stop? The day of paperwork or the day of the finger printing? Oh my so many questions. Sorry ladies. Thanks ever so much in advance.

Hi everyone. 3 doctors at the clinic couldn't figure out what it was. I have done blood tests and am waiting for th results. Today is day 8 and it is the first time in my life that I have an illness that is only getting worse everyday instead of getting better. Not hand mouth and foot, not thrush. Just posting to say if you have any of my signs see a doctor ASAP don't wait for it to get better cause it only gets worse. I feel whatever it was has progressed into my throat, its day 2 that my voice is almost gone now. Will see another doctor for another opinion. Will keep you posted.

please check the staff page for information...this is it in part regarding fines etc. ' 17 January 2012: All UAE-based staff are requested to process their UAE ID cards as soon as possible. The Federal Emirates ID Authority (EIDA) has started levying Dhs20 fine per day (maximum Dhs 1,000) from 1st January 2012 onwards for government/semi-government employees who are yet to renew or process their cards. [b'>As EIDA has classified the Emirates Group as a government/semi-government organisation, the deadline of 31st May 2012 for Dubai residents published earlier by EIDA is not applicable to Emirates [/b'>Group staff and their dependents and the deadline for government/semi-government employees (and their dependants) of 1st January 2012 will now apply.' the rest of the info is on the the staff site. You WILL be fined. Will children under 15 be fined too? Update: seems that the fines have been waived for staff etc until March. Not gospel though so until it comes directly from the horses mouth, be prepared :) edited by SueB on 18/01/2012 Will children under 15 be fined? edited by Irooni on 18/01/2012

TBH, if they are going out in the evening, am presuming that the children will be in bed - is it really such a hardship to keep an eye on them if you are in the house anyway? Sorry i really don't get the issue you have in doing this. I am sorry OP, but I am with izzy.
