My father work with a group from there many moons ago and often travelled there. All I remember is that it is very very cold there, even in the summer.

Thanks ladies. Wondering if anyone in their 30s with two young children has done this. I am soooo scared to commit to it. Its been years since my BA, sometimes I think my brain can't handle academics anymore:(

I am a chicken! Don't think I can handle acupunture. Thanks Claire, I will call Dr. Baghat. Kavsmum, I will try the sprays have them at home, but the doctor never prescribed it. I feel better knowing that others have been through this. I honestly felt like I was somehow over reacting to the pain, its just sinuses after all! It has over taken my life at the moment. <em>edited by Irooni on 07/11/2011</em>

I wish someone like AnonDubai, who is very familiar with the local culture would come join us in this thread and shed some light on this. Why on why, spend precious family moments, during a blessed holiday, at a mall?!??!!?:\: not only the malls are full at holidays, but all the beaches, all the parks, all the usual spots (hatta pools, fossil rock, etc). Lovely! That's good to hear. I would never know, cause i always keep away from public places on public holidays!:)

LOL I don't see a problem with them actually being at the mall, its free for everyone, just the way they behave when they get there with no regard for anyone else, is what annoys me ;) edited by Pomegranate on 07/11/2011 Really? ;)

Oh yes, some nights were so funny. Sounds a bit sad but I remember 2 events - the opening of the Metro because were were watching it on TV with the awful presenters and watching for Wuffles who had won a trip on the first metro! Also the opening night of Atlantis! I was on here the opening of the Burj too!

....or they don't want to put it on the dirty floor nor leave it unprotected. I rarely put my purse down ever and they are not all that glam. I wouldn't pick it up though if it were somewhere safe "just" for a picture...now thats just odd. Celebrities do it, b/c they are often gifted the products to be seen with it, and thus create demand for it. I was not questioning the celebrities.

And the prize for the best answer goes to SEAofLOVE. I am too behind in the world of fashion for something like this to just click in my head. That's what is is making a fashion statement. Call me dumb but it honestly just didn't click. It doesn't bother me and I was not complaining. And no domestic goddess it doesn't make me tick! It is stated in the opening of the thread, I am trying hard to understand. Now, I do!!! Thanks seaoflove.

Have a lok at these links. This is the type of pose, I am talking about. Only these photos are mostly celebrity candid shots. And the ones I amtalking about are not. They have one hand on their hip and one hand displaying the handbag. It's a shallow world I tell ya! http://gofugyourself.com/the-sixth-fug-2-04-2011 http://www.ebook008.com/3488.html

Definitely one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Just breathtaking. It comes with a very high price tag. High price, high taxes. It is extremely expensive to live in Vancouver. An average family home in a good area in Vancouver is easily a million dollars now. The last time I visited in summer 2009, tomatoes were $2.99lb!!!! Good private schools are very very expensive and public schools are nothing to write home about. Violence rates are climbing but still low compared to Toronto and Montreal. I never minded the grey and rainy Vancouver, I am no fan of the heat and sun. But of you enjoy the sun, be warned that you could have 10 days of continous rain in July. Oh how I miss that. What else can I say? Oh its gorgeous, its beautiful, its magnificent:(((

Yes every year. Legally I don't owe her anything. But 5.5 years is a long time to be working in someone's home. My poor baby boy, thinks she is just part of us forver! He was a month old when she came and now he is almost 5.5. I just really want to gve her something that she can save and change her life for the better with. I don't know if its possbile to buy a couple of hundred grams of solid gold with the amount, I am thinking, but that's what I really want to do.

Louise, please tell your friends to have a look at this thread! I am very disappointed with their service. I ordered 2 portions of butter chicken, 4 naan and specifically asked for BONELESS tandoori chicken ( The Filipino girl on the phone, repeated my order twice!) I asked her several times to make sure the chicken is boneless and that we get the spicy mint sauce. Yes ma'am, yes ma'am, yes ma'am! Driver showed up, with one butter chicken, bone in chicken and 8 naan and no mint sauce! He demanded the entire amount although he didn't have the whole order. I will bring it later....we are busy....some song and dance! He wouldn't take the extra naan back ( which are 10dhs each by the way!!!!) he left and came back with the extra butter chicken which was supposed to be here initially, an hour and a half later. I asked him to take it back and refund the money, since it was too late. He just refused. This was last Thursday. I have been trying to contact the manager or owners since, without avail! The gal that answers that phone can just say...sorry ma'am!!!!
