I have zipped my mouth since the 1st of March and I have been very very good. I have lost 4kgs. I was clearing out my handbag and found them. For the first time since I started, temptation was about to kill me! So I ran them under the tap and binned them :((( Now I am just thinking of them. I am crazy, I know!;)

I had heard this too, many moons ago, yet the Prophet's birthday is a day off. I'm trying to think if we got a day off for Sultan Qaboos' birthday in Oman. There was a street named after his birthday which seems a bit celebratory. Celebrating birthdays is frowned upon by the very religous. They believe that Prophet's birthday is the only birthday to be celebrated. I don't take my children anywhere uninvited, ever! But my home's door is always open to guests. I am never offeneded by siblings attending. Everyone is on about YOUR HOME YOUR RULES and things of the sort...! What about just some plain old hospitality? I am sure there will always be enough food around. Parties at home or away always have loads of leftovers. As far as the return gift goes. Buy the main ones for the invitees but surley we can all afford a couple of extra packets of stickers and sweeties? Its just a child's birthday party for god sake not the Prince's Royal Wedding! <em>edited by Irooni on 08/03/2011</em>

Thanks. No license yet, still no visas, but they said it is ok to buy it on a visit visa, but once we have our residency permits then we can apply for a license. Please please please don't get caught serving alcohol without a license, specially to locals. Thanks Irooni, I shall make sure it is a 'dry' night then. what about food? anything I need to know? hoprfully I shall have a maid in place by then and she can assist me. Just keep pork and wine sauces off the menu.

I can still be respectful in my dress, and I am not one to attract too much attention. Ok sorry Mrs J we are all having a joke with you, yes it's fine to wear sleevless/strappy tops and really short mini skirts in Dubai (up to crutch is fine). Friday is always a good day to dress like that as it's party day and the malls that really will appreciate it is Bin Sougat or Wafi. The ladies on Ew are just jealous you can fit into such a dress as they are all FAT. Oh god! I am in tears from laughter!

I did not say it isn't! But the equivalency charts are age based not work or curriculum content based. In year 1 children do spelling tests, grammar and multiplication; none of these are covered in kindergarten. edited by Irooni on 29/01/2011 <em>edited by Irooni on 29/01/2011</em>

I am from Iran, I was born and raised there … Guess I am the only Iranian here in EW!! I have been called many names by people who no little or perhaps nothing about my country.
