No, in a word. Most breeders here are illegal, the animals unhealthy and the quality of the animals used to breed poor. If you want a labradoodle please get one from a registered breeder in the US, UK or Western Europe. That's what I figured but wasn't sure. I don't support pet shops or puppy mills. I wonder might it be cheaper coming from the US or Europe than Australia, must look into that then. thanks

Union coops have a new range of arabic board games, my friend got my 5 yrs old one for the 5 pillars of Islam from The one close to Mirdiff. Check ELC, they also have Newboy arabic talking pen with flash cards & stories There is also nice educational books series called tafakkar with Annous, very simple with guideline manual for parents. it's an Islamic series if you're interested. I bought it for my son, if you are interested I can give you the number of the distributor here & they deliver. I'm also a member in a FB group with mums who live in western countries & are teaching then children arabic at home, there are amazing ideas to teach arabic at home, I can give you the link. Thanks I would love the link to the FB page.

oh Thanks, I wasn't aware that Borders has closed some outlets there. I was at the one in Mall of the Emirates last time but that was about a year ago. So the one in Mirdiff is still open and try Bookworld in Dubai Mall, thanks. Any other place that specializes in wooden arabic toys etc? Has Magrudys also closed?

Also Dr Saliha at the Lighthouse does assessments. But as you probably do, the assessments do cost thousands!!! How old is your child and what are your concerns? I am an Ed Psych so may be able to help! Thanks, he has just trend 6 and I know that he has Neuro Developmental Delays and will begin therapy for that. It is just I really wonder about the meltdowns and sensory issues, speech issues and lack of eating if there might be something else.

Hi am sorry I can't help you but have you tried asking this questions on Muscat Mums or Muscat Where Can I Find pages as they can be very helpful. Sorry for the late reply I don't come in here too much as not often people post in Oman which is a pity as a great site.

Hi Aramic and welcome to a fellow Aussie, yes you can get appliances in most the major shops. You can also the shop upstairs at city center near Nandos chicken across from Lakeland I think. Then there are places on the service road in al khuwiar as well that have just white goods. I'm not a huge fan of emax in respect to their after sales service but then that may have been just a one off. Also if you want to buy 2nd hand try the Muscat Buy or Sell FB page ... https://www.facebook.com/Muscatbuyorsell?fref=ts Internet is a good one. Gosh we have Omantel and it should be superspeed but to be honest it drops out too much. I think its best for you to go to Nawras and get their info and also Omantel. If you give them your address it helps to see what the coverage is like. Have fun settling in.

if you have a rental car then you might be better to go a little further downtown to get a better hotel as the airport hotel is a bit tired. you could stay Park Inn or Ibis or City Seasons in Al Khuwair then further down you have hyatt , intercon etc. Also Chedi is in Atheiba nearer to both but is pricey.

thanks for the information I will call Crate and Barrel. I am very tempted to buy one in the US and run it through a transformer except for the ugly box on a kitchen bench ;-)

looks like there is a lot of entertainment at Mirdif? One query though will my 9 year old be able to go to little explores? I noticed it said workshops are 2 - 7 years? And what about Aqua play is there an age limit? Oh and I looked at the cinema and it appears that the kids movies are only in 3D, grrrr. What a shame. thanks so much.

Hi, I am taking three children (9,6,4) to Dubai for a few days this week and I was wondering if you think it is too hot for the waterparks? I looked at Atlantis, and Wild Wadi but not sure due to the heat especially with a floatie arm band wearing 4 year old?? Can you suggest what other things would be good to do? I have Kids Science Museum, Kidzania, maybe ski dubai? I would appreciate any other ideas even large indoor play areas. Many thanks

Thanks for the replies. In NY she barely looked at the weight, gosh all that worry for nothing! We missed our connection in Doha on the way home and spent 5 hours u til 1 am in the airport, yuk. I think with the extensive advertising QA does I maybe expected a little more dazzle in their service but I found them ok. Thanks again.
