Hi Izzyontheseat, He is British and unfortunately languages was not his greatest passion so although he did Spanish he says it is not good. His English is obviously excellent.

Suebfq, some of the schools will only be shut on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, the administration normally does part time hours throughout the holidays, so if you have any schools in mind contact them to confirm if they are open and if so what hours. Everything else will be open including shopping malls on Christmas Day and if you are staying at a hotel then you will have no problems getting a taxi back to the airport, as Muurtje suggested just pre book it the day before. My daughter has confirmed that the work has finished and she says it is better than before but not up to Dubai standards!! Sad as I spent my Saturdays there as a teenager - it was the best place for clothes shopping for quite a long time and yes I also remember when it opened

As I was fortunate enough to be given lots of packing boxes, I have now moved and wondered if anyone would like to use them, have quite a few. I have Muurtje's seperate and will return them to her the week after christmas as still have a couple more to unpack. Thank you to everyone for your help, it made our move a little bit easier

My 18 year old son has informed that he would like a pair of heelys for christmas, and he is a UK size 10. Has anyone seen adult ones anywhere in Dubai, being a mum of 18-20 year olds I haven't set foot in a toy store for sometime and so wouldn't know where to start TIA

We have been doing it now for about 5 years although we did lapse abit last year, great fun and there are alot in Dubai so they should have fun, you discover places you didn't know exist, it is an excellent way to explore the emirates.

Thanks Pupa, my mobile no is 0 5 0 5 5 0. 6 3 0 0 that would be a great start. Veejay unfortunately we are doing our move ourselves so the steel boxes will proberly be a bit too heavy and Ikea have sold out at the mo hence the original post!

ACE Hardware do this, we hired some white plastic chairs in April for the day, they delivered in the morning for us and collected the next day, very good service and not very expensive

They are definately not available here yet, I got mine in the USA in the summer. If you have a shop and ship account with Aramex they might be cheaper to purchase in America as they are cheaper than in the UK
