If you look up the brand name there is a distributor in deira that stocks them. My dad came to visit 2 yrs ago and ran out, and after a lot of calling around hospitals, pharmacies etc this is the only place that stocked them. It is in a medical supply store however cannot for the life of me remember the name. They had 2 types, the disposable and reusable that stuck on with Velcro. If you aren't able to find them, let me know and I'll contact my dad to find the brand name and do a search for you.

i am currently 33weeks when I first started going to her my appt was every 5 weeks, then we went to every 4. There is a 3 week gap between my last and next appt which will be at 35 weeks then I will have my last one before my c-sec at 37 weeks. To be honest if she scheduled the last 3 any closer together I would have asked her If we could stretch them out a bit as I have no complications and it is my 3rd so am not too concerned. Thinking back to my other 2 I only went every 2 weeks after 34/36 weeks, but then again I have uncomplicated pregnancies.

And don't get me started on the flyers and newspapers left in the driveways of obviously untenanted villas! Newspapers get blown all over the road and make the whole area look a mess! DH's pet hate is the gas man sticking the stickers on the cabinet outside.... As soon as he takes them off, another one is there the next day. I've told him to just let it go, and leave it there, but it is something that just annoys him, and he has to take it off every time! And usually I'm the one that gets annoyed with the little things!

We tried to take the dummy away from dd when she had just turned 2, (she only used it at night and sleep time) and after 2 weeks decided it wasn't worth the stress it put us through nor the trauma that it was putting her through. I know you feel that you will be going backwards by giving it back to your baby, but sometimes they just need it. We did manage to give it up on her own before her 3rd B'day. My point is, that I refused to go backwards after the first week, and thought we could break it, but after the 2nd week, I felt so guilty putting her through all that trauma unnecessarily Can she put her dummy back in her mouth at all? When mine was younger and we had to wake up to put it back in her mouth, I ended up leaving about 5 of them in her cot at night, so she inevitably was able to find at least one of them to pop back in herself! The glow in the dark ones worked well when she was a little older. Must admit though I am glad DS never took to the dummy, making our lives a lot easier.

#2 is due November 24 and we're flying back to Dubai on Friday next week. I'm so looking forward to getting back and getting settled again before baby puts in an appearance! And although I've been having great maternity care here in the UK over the summer, I am looking forward to seeing my own doctor again in Dubai. Hey dc I'm also due 24th nov, but will prob have my scheduled c-sec on the 13th.... So may be in at the same time if you decide to go that route as Dr E's preferred day for c secs are Sunday's! Do u know what u r having yet?

Have you tried one of the smaller less know charter companies? Eg Bristol marine, marine charter concept etc? Do a search for their websites. Also there is Coastal safety which is a training school and jps yachts that also do recruitment. Also marine resources a uk based company that often recruits here. Are you looking for an office based job or a job on board eg purser or stewardess, chef etc?

Lucky man, he gets to stay out all night and has a nice quiet house to himself! I'd probably keep the kids at home all day, and make sure they would make as much noise as possible! Glad he is home safe though!

Even though your LO wiggles when you put the suit on, I would still suggest putting one on as well as a hat and sun screen. A bikini bottom really is not enough to protect them! Their skin is so new and sensitive at 10 months and should really be protected at all costs. The rays don't only effect them above, but they get reflected off the water and other things as well. I have also yet to see a 10 month old keep a big floppy sun hat on without trying to pull it off! Your choice, but your LO is not old enough to tell you when they have had enough sun, and as a mom of 2 little water babies, I know how easily they can get burnt.

Some insurance say they dont cover him or dr Sinclair - same department. However I remember having this conversation with medcare accounts 3 yrs ago and I believe that there is a surplus to their charges e.g consultation is 300 and then they add a specialist charge of 150, so the full charge is 450. We ended up having to pay for the 150, the 300 was covered, and then claimed back the 150 from our insurance, as dr sinclair was actually covered by them.

That happened to us a few years ago on vacation and we were told that even though the charge came through months later, it was still probably money we spent, there was just a delay in the amount coming off our account as it was an overseas charge. We had to pay for them to investigate it, but as it was only 1 odd deduction that we couldn't explain we let it go.... Just kept a close eye on the bank account though!

So I've been trying to make an appt with the orthopaedic department for the last 2 weeks, but no-one answers the phone. I've left my number with the main appts section to pass on, but no-one calls me back. Asked to speak to the supervisor... In a meeting and will call me back.... Still waiting for her call since Thursday Tried again this morning, no answer from that dept...Left my number again as well as asked to speak to a supervisor.... In a meeting will call me back. Anyone have a complaints number or a contact person, I can speak too? Am trying to make an appt with Dr Sinclair. We are current patients and will probably end up waiting a month anyway to get an appt, but I just want to get that appt made. I guess my next option is to head down to the hospital and not leave till I speak to someone, but then what is the point of having a number for appointments?

Females can haven it done whilst having a c-sec but permission will have to be sought from ministry. You Obgyn can sort all the paperwork out for you. We discussed it during my last appt.

Hi Red leaf thanks for the info. just to add...... We have been missioning with ours these past few days, our helpers visa was done in Abu Dhabi, and we are 99% sure we never signed or got a contract, so after speaking to the Polo office in AD, they said that we could download a contract off their website both sign it, and that should suffice. needless to say, when we got to the Dubai office, they would not accept the unstamped contract, so called AD office again, and they said that they would accept an unsigned contract in AD, so poor DH, helper and 2 toddlers all went off to AD this am to sort it out. Am glad and relieved it is all sorted, although if we were caught out with the 2 month rule, I would not have been a happy camper! Hope you get yours sorted!

I will really miss her but am so happy that she has found a fantastic home. She deserves it! 3 pets re-homed in a week so I reckon that is a good result. Fingers crossed for Winston, Olly and Derek. Hi Dibdub, just reading thorugh some old posts, where you mentioned not having a contract for your helper, being sponsored in Abu Dhabi. We didn't receive a contract either, and my helper is pretty sure she never signed anything. What did you do when you did her exit forms, was she required to have the contract? She is going to sort out papaerwork on Sunday, but at a loss without the contract. Thanks!

Anyway, this lovely lady who could have been put to sleep is going to meet her possible new family tomorrow and it sounds like she has hit the jackpot! So yes, I could have put her to sleep when I picked her up but then again, she could be looking at a great life when I leave. You are right there, if all goes ok, she has definitely hit the jackpot :) Holding thumbs it all works out ok!

Thanks Redleaf, appreciate it. thought it was only 1 form! Does anyone know if one has to put your family household salary on the form? - as requested. Our maid will be going to the polo office with the forms next week, and to be honest, I really do not wish for her to know what the household income is?

Did it on about 5 flights when my LO's were younger. I did however take it apart, and then put the zapp in its bag before heading out to the plane, just to save on the hassels of attendants telling me no strollers allowed. They both fit in the overhead lockers perfectly, and it is great to have between layovers or long walks to and from boarding gates.

hey so indecisive. Dr Raj is great, had her for DS. She is very pro natural so wouldn't worry about her pushing you into a c-sec... our No 3 is due 25th Nov too, but will have a c-sec probably on the 13th. To get an appt all you need to do is call AH appointments, and ask for an appt with Dr Raj. no referrals or anything needed. The only reason i changed was cause I didn't think our new insurance covered AH, and after managing to get an appt with Dr Elsa, I didn't bother looking into it. Good Luck everyone!

Congrats ladies! 1st tri not been too bad... had all day nausea from week 4 - 10, and now I only occasionally feel it. am seeing Dr Elsa at City, (other 2 were born at AH) I was amazed I managed to get an appt with her, as I heard so many not being able to get an appt till June. She is truly lovely, and am pleased I made the move across to City. have my 2nd appt next week, and then followed by the NT scan! Don't think we're gonna find out the *** of this one, will see how long we last, until I give in!

agree, they increased our interest rate by 2% after the first year, which hurt us, but they did decrease it by 1% last October, when rates started dropping all round again. I asked for a further increase, but was told I could ask after 1 year of being on the current rate.

there is also kindertots, which also takes place in JBR. DD goes to the one in Motor City. We like it, as she is able to burn off a lot of excess energy, and it does not need parent involvement, so I can look after DS. They have other enrichment classes too, and a free trial. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Building-Blocks-Nursery-and-Child-Enrichment-Centre-Dubai/181689365181849?v=wall

Am having the same problem with DS - 15 months.. DD swopped over with no problems at 12 months, but DS being a little stubborn. he does the same thing, and refuses to drink it out of his cup. he was winging for his milk bottle yesterday morning, and I gave him his cup, but pushed it away. I ended up giving him water in his bottle, and he drank it all! Refused his milk cup last night and again this am. Ended up giving him water (a lot less) in his bottle again this am as he was winging again.... Am hoping to break the habit, but he now hasn't had any milk for 2 days :( So will be intrested to hear suggestions. He does have milk in his cereal and yoghurts etc, so its not like he is being deprived of it, but would like him to drink some more...
