This is an old thread, but didn't really want to open a new one..After many years of the salon never getting it right, and also having read that both tweezing and waxing might not be best option for people with slow growing /not growing brows, I have decided to use another method of using brow shapers/shavers( like a shaving stick but angled and for brows) Has anybody seen these anywhere in Dubai?

same thing happened to m with Horizon school. Passed and waitlisted and nothing happened after. Thank God I had other alternatives. And the part that bothered me most was that they had no particular order of going through the waitlist. (At least I asked, and was told there is no particular order.) Also no follow up notices at all.

Anyone being treated for this? Any good recommendation for doctor/hospital. I know about Moorfields but would prefer to go with someone tried and tested.

I think part of the moral of this post is that women are gradually being reduced to mere objects. It's not just a matter of if u don't like it, then stuff it...it's like a cancer, and very soon will affect all of us.--our daughters/nieces/granddaughters... Increasingly we see girls in videos wearing next to nothing or even nothing! while the men are so dressed up even with hats ..head to toe...Girls are gradually being taught that if you are not naked or lose, you won't find a guy.... We call for equal rights and respect, but we have not even shown ourselves respect. It starts with mothers, even within the small expat-woman circle, please be firm when your daughter puts on something inappropriate and explain that it just won't work. My two cents, and i'm quite happy that some schools have banned these songs...Would it stop students from downloading? NO! But then it puts across a message of supporting proper moral values, and that's what is important.

It's really confusing. So, you cannot work with those visas? So if one finds a job, do you get to/can you cancel the investor visa and go with company sponsorship? Secondly, seems one has to have paid the full amount.. encouraging money laundering especially from emerging economies. How many hardworking people (not into illegal and oil bunkering activities) can actually shell out 5million-15 million on a property at once without needing mortgage.? OH WELL..Its a rat race out there.

I am a bit alarmed at the way this spreads.. Is it necessary for kids to wear the health masks(for nose) when travelling ? I read today that Saudi Arabia has asked the aged or infirm to restrict travelling because of this... What are your thoughts? sorry i'm probably being paranoid.. but I guess safety is always good!

Lynette 84...Good question, and since you have talked about God, it means you believe, so for anyone that does not believe, this answer may not be appropriate: It is natural for man to seek God...All of our striving for truth and happiness is ultimately a search for the one who supports us absolutely, satisfies us absolutely and employs us absolutely in his service. A person is not complete until He has found God.(Take a cue from all the stars who seem to have it all, until we hear they are going to rehab and we ask why? but they have everything!) --_God is love. In so far as we are able to love, and do all things with love, be it as a mother, housewife or CEO of a Trillion Dollar company, we have found God. Have you observed children playing? do they size each other up? or observe if the other person has an LV bag? or guess if the other is from "my part of the world?" NO.. That is the heart of God at work. God made us to Love and serve him in this world, and to be happy with him in the next. and if we find love..i.e God in our daily tasks WHATEVER that may be, then we are fulfilling our calling..

Hi have to tell you the best organic chicken is available at the ripe organic shop off al minara st . They cost 95 each I bought two last week and really the best chicken here in Dubai. You need to pre order and they arrive on Saturdays. I have bought the organic chicken from the organic shop and ts tough and dry. I have also bought the French chicken from spinneys and the corn fed one but ripe chicken beats all ! Save some for me though. That's the problem...at 95 quid each, for some of us with big families, that's a lot of money!! ...would really love to but 95 is really high....especially if chicken is eaten frequently in the home...If I was alone, its probably doable....AND please I do not have a matching designer bag and purse before i'm berated for not wanting to spend money on food...

@Pikachu...are you English? The poster did not ask for a school with only British/English pupils she asked for an English Curriculum school. The line in your sentence sounds as if you are averse to having many nationalities in a school...I don't want to Judge, incase that's not what you meant..but in case you haven't noticed, the world is FAST becoming a global village...

I am also of the view that morals have to be instilled by the parents.. Parents sometimes contribute to making the kids think that they can live as they wish..It starts from teaching virtues, dressing everything...I see many girls that look about 12 that wear very skimpy things, with their parents..Yes I know many will say it's the men that are lusting after young girls that have the problem, but then, it takes two to tango...It's nice to be trendy, i believe i was always trendy also growing up (can't say much about that now), but I was always decent also..My mother never had any gulity pangs nor did she have to ask anyone..i knew what was acceptable to wear . Yes, we have to allow these kids to 'find themselves' as some parents will claim...but how can they find it when they may not even know what they are looking for in the first place..It is our duty to guide our children until a certain age, at least give them a base, then they can further explore and then make a choice if they are so convinced that what you have given them is not right. Infact it's a whole lot of things...unfortunately not much support is given to families in countries like the UK...Marriage is almost being written off as unnecessary and irrelevant. I am such an advocate of the family...Boys should be taught to be gentlemen..no age is too young..and girls should be shown how to be ladies..My boy was about 3 years when he started nursery, after the first day, the teacher called me aside and I was a bit worried...My child had pulled out a chair for a girl in class on the first day.. The teacher couldn't believe it and she wanted to speak to me.and in truth..I was shocked also, i didn't know my little darling had been taking this in. It's a tough one really, and while being in a country like U.A.E makes it a bit better, but then have you seen the morning papers in the recent weeks? many r*pe cases in schools here..majority boys with other boys..almost on a daily basis. Something is fundamentally wrong...I don't have all the answers but I would say we don't need rocket science to find out what it is...

As far as I know, there is no IELTS Examiner Training..You have to become an IELTS examiner after you gain some years of experience teaching, and then an assessment mainly by British Council. Regular training i think are organised for examiners(with CELTA) if i remember well.. You can call up the British Council and ask and if you find any info pls post on here, but this is what i remember from working with the BC in the recent past--but then rules can always change.
