Ladies my poor ds is suffering from a bad case of reflux. All the peadriticians I've met have been so useless telling me to 'just burp him'. Anyway were on simelac formula right now and not out of choice. He was fine on this first day but from day 2 all the problems started. I've heard Enfamil AR may help him. He is also on the low side of a healthy weight. [b'>Where can I buy this formula????[/b'>

I've noticed since yesterday both our bedrooms absolutely stink of cigarettes and we dont even smoke. WTH! Its such a disgusting smell and I'm pretty sure its coming through the a/c vents even though the a/c is off. Has anyone else experienced this? Probably a neighbour smoking :-( i dont know how you can prevent it coming through the vents though I've never this experienced this before but I remember someone commenting about the same problem in JBR :(

One I wouldnt recommend is Dr Shiva. Rubbish at consulting, advising and pretty much giving any information at all even though she is supposed to be the head of department at Medcare.

The ladies that are getting so aggressively angry over a push present clearly have alot of insecurity issues over not getting anything! You really need to chill. I didnt ask my DH for anything. He came home with a beautiful piece of tiffany jewelry and a handmade card and said 'I love you and our baby thank you for everything your doing for us'. I guess according to you ladies I should have bashed him over the head for being so sweet and considerate! Jeez. Inferior complexes or what.

Nothing-both ours were extremely premature births and very ill so presents were the last thing on our minds. Wouldn't have expected one even if they weren't-[b'>thought the baby was the gift[/b'>. This has already been answered.

Its more expensive than the usuals like mac for example. I think I made 230 dhs for mine. I absolutely love it! Glides on effortlessly, dont have to use alot at all and gives a full coverage without caking the face! I hardly ever use foundation since I moved to Dubai just because I hate that heavy feeling on my face but this foundation doesnt do that! You can get it in Paris gallery in IBN. PS I dont work for them!

Thanks for your reply ladies. I love my new foundation but they all tend to make my face a bit dark after a while. Maybe I'm using too much bronzer when 'attempting' to contour lol Either way I'm looking for a setting powder which wont make my face dry and will also lighten my face up. Whats good for that?

I decided to stay home as the first years are the most precious and go back to work once DS starts school. All it took was a bit of sacrifice from our side as parents for example skipping that brunch every week to just once a month, making my expensive creams last a bit longer, not eating out everyday etc. There are alot of people who dont want to sacrifice a cent of their current lifestyle and thats not what motherhood is about. Edit to add: So that I can fill in the gap on my cv I'm doing a distance learning masters in my field. edited by JBR_Mummy on 07/08/2012

I got my nose pierced when I was 15 and my dad hated them so he made me take it out the same day :( Fast forward when I was 20 I got it done again and I've always had a tiny diamond stud in it. Never had any problems with it but I wouldn't let my daughter get hers done so young. It can easily become infected, the school may not approve etc

Do you mean the Anomaly scan at 20 weeks? If you weren't going to get any other scan in the entire pregnancy you should definitely be getting this one.

My dad gave my mum a diamond and sapphire ring as a push present; that was in the UK and a few decades ago - so neither a new thing or a Dubai thing Exactly. Its really not a new thing or a Dubai thing. Edit to add: Lovely present by the way! edited by JBR_Mummy on 05/08/2012 Yes, definitely not a new thing. My dad gave my mum a diamond and saphire ring (it coudn't have been expensive as they were struggling students but she wears with her wedding band everyday since I was born 40 years ago). That was in England. I doubt they called it a "push" present as its coined nowadays but it was certianly a little gift/token for carrying their baby and going through the birthing process for both of them. For each of my children, my dh, bought me a David Yurman baby bracelet with the relevant birthstone on it. They are thin enough to wear daily and i love them. In fact I never take them off. [b'>Push presents don't need to be expensive, I think its just a gesture based on appreciation[/b'>. Agreed!

Many refer to it as a push present but that doesnt mean its only given at point of pushing! I'm sure those who were gifted things from their family and partners werent looking at their baby to be as any less of a gift. Calm down ladies! For me, after many months of pregnancy it was a lovely thoughtful gesture from dh and its something I will always wear with our sons date of birth engraved on the inside :)

My baby is here! (it took 2 days to complete my short typing!) Another successful VBAC! Our daughter was born 1st of August. 2 days of irregular contractions followed by spontaneous 1 hour toughest contractions, and she was out with few pushes, my eternal Thanks to God for making it easy. I expected to be longer and harder. Definitely I wasn't ready to have the baby that day, as I was tired and wanted to rest and have energy for the real day. Oh how I was begging mentally at home for epidural and CS, but was away from hospital! by the time I reached, it was useless to have any pain relief and was pushing. We are both ok, apart from little internal tear , hemorrhoids due to pushing and cracked nipples :( Oh wow congratulations to you! So happy for you :) and lovely to see labor was so easy and that c-section birth plan was never needed in the end! Good luck to you all xoxo

I'm in Amwaj 3 also so I know how you feel :( Anyway beach can still be accessed you walk straight through the car park as theres a small part of the old one thats not closed off. If your in a seaview apartment you'll be able to see people getting onto the beach. Its just such a shame that they're destroying the beautiful view.

Its a shame that the Olympics are losing the true spirit, but I guess its a sign of the times and that countries want to be seen as all powerful and its not about who is the better sportsperson on the day. The media...well...what can you say, they have to increase circulation, sell papers, sell ads and make money and if sensationalising winners, losers and cheats gets the bottom line looking healthier then they will do it. China will always be an easy target because they dont conform to the "norm", your right SoL why single out only one country. . so is it in the spirit of the games to take toddlers away from the families and institutionalising them in sports training facilities? I think what the press is picking up on is the brutality of this....... And it does appear that China is one of the few countries to be doing this...... The parents send their children to train when they show promise, and yes, they train them hard, but which athlete doesn't? Gymnastics has a grueling training regime and the earlier they start the better as we lose flexibility with age. Once again there is sensationalism in the news and people still buy into them. [b'>These children want to win gold, and they want to follow the Chinese method which is tried and true, how is that child abuse? [/b'>There was even an interview with a Chinese junior table tennis champion who complained he wasn't training hard enough. Don't knock something just because you don't understand it, there is a world of difference between Western and Chinese parenting. They don't believe they are doing their kids any favors by not pushing them to be the best, it doesnt make them poorer parents. I think you will find these children just want to have a normal childhood where they can play not where they are abused, stepped on and beaten with sticks in order to become gold medalists. Please keep your tried and tested method to yourself because whether you like it or not IT IS child abuse.

Another makeup question. A few days ago I purchased the urban decay naked palette which comes with the trial size eyeshadow primer. It has some lovely colours but I’m a very basic makeup person so even after watching tonnes of youtube videos I have no idea how to use this palette. I’m still waiting for my sigma brushes in the post so it may be that my equipment is not the best for the looks I’m trying to create but I would love to hear from any ladies who are beginners like me and have found great looks with this particular palette! Thanks xoxo A basic technique in applying eye shadow is choose a light colour apply that all over eye lid ( I normally use the colour Sin from the Naked palette) Choose a darker colour and apply it with a smaller brush on the crease line work from the outer corner to the inner corner almost making a window wiper movement with your brush to blend. The choose a colour that's a bit darker to apply with a firmer smaller brush to the lower part of your upper eye lid using small strokes or even patting it on from outer corner to inner corner. Use the same brush and colour as step 3 and apply on lower lid right on the lash line but only apply it 2 thirds of the way across. Apply liner to upper lids and then mascara and your done! Have fun playing around with different colour combos before you know it you'll be a pro! Thank you for this! I managed a very basic look today with 3 different colours. I used vanilla, sidecar and toasted! The problem is I dont have a blending brush. I think once mine arrives I'll be able to do this alot better!

yes it does. I was in overnight and they gave me the password, as far as I know, I dont remember it being on my bill. I just asked for the password and they told me to call a number and they gave it over the phone. Wow, really? I had asked my midwife some time back and she was pretty sure no internet was available. I'm going to bring it up again as DH may need it.

My parents are from Pakistan and although I've only been a few times myself once was during ramadan and I had no problems eating in public. Most restaurants were shuttered so you could go in to get takeaway or eat in. The only thing frowned upon was stuffing your face while you walk down the street which makes sense. They should really have some cornered/shuttered areas where food is available. Doesn't need to be worldwide cuisine but just something.

Its annoying because i'll be there for 3 days in the next 2 weeks and DH will need the net to keep up to date with work. Maybe you can ask them if they can arrange something for you if your going in as a patient as I'm sure there is internet in the hospital for the staff.

As a makeup artist i can recommend you Revlon Color Stay, it lasts and give y a nice coverage , you can always mix 2 of them to get the color in case u don't find the one that suits u perfect...You can try it till u get the one u r dreaming of Or you can buy 2 of the MAC foundations to do the same, Mix them to get the perfect color that suits you Thanks Columbiana but is there anywhere I can go for this foundation where someone can help me pick the right shade?

I'm under 2 weeks away from delivery and if I need to eat while out then I will. Yesterday while in the mall I was so badly hungry so I picked up some sandwiches from Waitrose and went back to the car to eat them privately. A few times before that I've drank water openly in the mall and nobody has ever objected.

The only foundation I can remember being perfect for me was the dior airbrush foundation but its so expensive and doesnt last long so I was hoping to find something new. I may just play it safe and go back to this one. Only thing is on a night out wipes off onto DH's clothes so easily and thats not a good look!

They did match it on my face but it just looked so wrong. None of their foundations seemed to have my colour apart from the sculpt and I wasnt a massive fan of how that turned out either. I've wasted so much on crappy foundations this year!
