Thanks all, we will definitely have to take a look at our expenses and try to find the Dubai equivalent. On the plus side, we’d be coming from a pretty high cost of living area where rent and full time daycare suck up a lot of our earnings, so I wouldnt say we live an extravagant lifestyle. I think our “splurges” would be a cleaning service and some sort of pool/beach membership. Alcohol and other high priced import items we’d prinanly just buy less frequently (sigh). Ranstone, I think the housing is in Bur Dubai area. We hear it’s ok, not great but most just go with it rather than spending money on a nicer place.

Is the 25k after housing has been paid ? You will get very differing opinions from different nationalities as to whether 25k is enough. You can live on 25k but it’s not a huge salary for a ...

Yes that is after housing. They will cover electric and water too and the apartment is furnished so hopefully we won’t need to buy too much furniture. It’s possible his salary will be slightly higher after a year but just trying to be conservative. I’m just not sure this is all worth it!
