I don't think you will find anything like Aphrodite Hills in Protaras. The resort itself is similar to Paphos with a lot of restaurants and bars centralised along one Main Street. It's very close to Napa for the waterpark and there are also a lot of watts ports and diving in Prot.

There is a little old man who sits in the cafe as you come out of arrivals who sells the sim cards. Also every cafe will have wifi for skype.

I have been trying to use the rental calculator for a month now and always says updating?? If anyone has a link to a working calculator please post it here as our second year agreement is due in just over 2 months. As far as I know you can only use it 1 month ahead Thanks GE. I did it as if we are renewing in 2 weeks and it said we are in the average so no increase. Lets hope it says the same in a month or so!

We use MoneyCorp, they are based in London and we used them to send cash here when first arrived. We did a transfer just last week to our offshore with them. Better rate than the bank and zero fee's.

We stayed in the Bali Hyatt in Sanur for our honeymoon and it was amazing. The surrounding area certainly doesn't offer as much as other areas although does have some nice restaurants, but the hotel was something else. Amazing gardens, i think 3 pools, nice beach. We would deffo return.

We went on Saturday at 6pm and i have to say i thought we had arrived at Sandance! We have family here so had 3 kids in tow and it was a nightmare. No seats, nowhere to hide from the music, very busy in general and it just appeared to be more about the drink than the food. We're not kill joys and i can see with a group of friends it would be good craic, but to be honest i don't think we will bother again.

Aphrodite Hills is nice but it doesn't sound like its what you're looking for. James Villa's are a UK company that used to offer a lot in Cyprus. Keep in mind that it is still low season there so somewhere like Protaras will be very quiet and many restaurants will only just be opening for the summer. Make sure you hire a car as taxi's are very expensive, we use arguscarhire when we go. Also there is an Entertainer book for there now which is great. We love Cyprus so ask if you need anything more.

I went to see the guys at Smart Fitness in JLT last week, through work. I have to say they were more focused on the science behind it all as opposed to just running for an hour which might be what your friend needs. I have not used them or heard anything about them but i can honestly say if i was looking into PT i would deffo give them a call. Brand new gym too in JLT close to Bonnington.

We have seen restaurants come and go over the years but even within a week we had doubled our cash this year. Ferrari World 450 saved, Al Muna Brunch 425 saved, Captain Jack 120 saved just to name a few. I for one find Paul very overrated, the service at JBR is nothing short of horrific so no moans from us, although i do find the Butcher Shop decision a strange one. We have Fine Dining too though and Travel so not to complain. Just use it as an excuse to find somewhere new to eat :)

You have 2 options, either get the test done now, the certificate lasts for 30 days. Or most normal is to get it done when meeting to exchange the vehicle at RTA. We have always done it in Al Barsha when selling the car.

I find the nike+ on my nano and find it very accurate. I did the collaboration on a running track and run the same route often 8km's and it is out by 0.03 of km appox which isn't bad for such a cheap product.

So we went yesterday and I'm afraid my tip is don't bother. We were there for 7 hours and only managed 5 attractions. The two coasters are great, the V12 flume is utter rubbish and we queued for 80 mins for it, the Red show was good and the legends ride is certainly lacking. Had it not been for the Entertainer vouchers we would not have gone, and thank god we had them to save some cash, lunch for 4 was in excess of 300aed and it was just chicken and chips. The management really need to take a trip to the US to understand how to organise a park, manage queues, entertain during queues and generally improve the atmosphere. Everyone was so annoyed at the queues that the general atmosphere is certainly affected and we witnessed a number of confrontations. A lot to improve I'm afraid before we consider returning.

We travelled together with our new born in Sept through T1. We were directed to an immigration office just before passport control and it was done there and then, took about 20 mins as the guys were...er......slow! Make sure you have birth cert and marriage cert with you. Good uck.

We live in the torch and the traffic woes are all ours I'm afraid due to the traffic lights at Spinneys. On the Pinnacle side it's not so bad aside from the dirt road that they are still messing around with leading to Ocean Heights, it is a total war zone! Both ways traffic is fine in the AM however rush hour one it is pretty hetic. They do at least appear to be getting a move on with the installation of the pipes so lets hope that's all it is and will be back to normal soon.

I have to say this is an absolute disaster, the traffic has been so bad, that this weekend it put us off going anywhere in the car as we knew it would be a nightmare coming home! Anyone thinking of moving to the area think again at least for a year or two! They are working on the road at 1am, traffic is awful all day long so the car horns are constant and there are numerous crashes each day due to the idiots who skip the queue to turn from Barasti into Torch road at the lights. Its like the wild west down there!!

Have used them before but not again. On the last service they tried to charge us 1,000aed more than Al Nabboda?!?!?! Labour cost is the same but the parts had a huge mark up to which their response was, 'go and get the parts yourself then and we will fit'. In my opinion they have got too big for their own boots.

The fish look amazing, bread is also nice. But DH's colleagues got lunch from their last week and the chicken his sandwich was raw in parts so be careful. Parking is a disaster on that street but you should find somewhere to abandon your car.

Make sure you do your homework as AAA are trying to charge us more than Al Nabooda to carry out the work on our Audi. Surely the point of these garages is to be cheaper than the dealer? They have lost our trust and we have used them for the past 3 cars so heaven knows how much they have ripped us off.

The 49 aed plan is what they call Social - so facebook and bbm are fully functional. You need the 99aed plan for browser access and 1 email account.

I am always nervous about the service you receive with these type of deals and i have only ever used it for car detailing. I don't think i would ever believe something like this can be offered at such huge discount without them trying to re-coup the cash somehow. Be careful.

Hi just to confirm when we stayed at Bab Al Shams we had 4 vouchers, booked 4 rooms and all stayed for the 2 nights. 3 of us had std rooms which were 1,000 each and the 4th room had to book a higher grade as they booked late and theirs was 1,500. Its an amazing place we all had such a great time. I have the Body book too! DH and I share it, you can go by yourself and pay the first time and then second is free. We both use it for haircuts, i have only used the spa side of it once at Bab Al Shams too! DH goes to a different hairdressers all the time as he isnt fussy about his hair. Would be interested to hear which hotels you all recommend from the book for us after the summer!

They were here for 4 hours this morning and the place now resembles a war zone so the rest of the day is major cleaning operation and we just have to hope that over the weekend we can see a noticeable difference. I thought DH was going to explode yesterday as the building maintenance have been to the apt 8 times already and kept blaming it on the AC filter or us leaving our doors open. Ever so frustrating!

Its one free night per reservation as far as i know. I think if you stay longer you can then get 20% off the other nights but we have only ever done the two nights anywhere.

We use them all the time. DH had his first issue with them last week in KSA, but he blamed the agent. Trouble with it is you don't know what company you are getting until you book it. You can however call them and ask them to exclude a company from the search. They are based in Dublin.

We used it once in 2011 and saved 1,100 at the Fairmont Bab Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi and this year we went to Bab Al Shams with 6 friends. 4 rooms in total and we saved 4,500aed. I think its one of those products that you only ever have to use once to feel like you have got your monies worth, which indeed we have 10 times over this year.

We have been having increasingly worse issues over the past 3 weeks, the maintenance team have been 8 times now. DH eventually lost the plot and got a 3rd party into check and we have 4 gaps/holes behind the false ceilings that are wide open letting air in from outside! Just what you want right now. I have 5 guys in the apartment as i type filling them now.
