From our experience it depends on the building. We have lived in 3 towers now the first we paid and the second two it was the landlord.

You need to calibrate it to your running style as everyone has a different stride. I would suggest running at least a km to do so correctly. My average run around the marina is 5miles and it is always there or there abouts 0.1mile out sometimes. It will always be different when you run a treadmill to outdoors due to the artificial nature, so if you only run on the treadmill do the calibration on here. Overall for the cost i think its brilliant and really motivates you to beat your previous time.

Unbelievable that some idiot can have started it and put so many people in danger with a single cigarette butt! Just thankful that 75 floors worth of people were quick to react.

Well ladies we got back from Bab Al Shams on Saturday evening and i can confirm it was very hot, at least 5 degrees higher than Dubai according to the car, but it was also fantastic! The pool area is amazing and teh rooms were also great. The service and food was also excellent, aside from Le Dune (Italian) in which the food was average and the service awful. We saved over 5,500 with the Entertainer vouchers, 4,500 on the room nights and and just over 1,000 with the food vouchers. A huge saving which i dont think anyone will refuse. Drinks were pretty reasonable as was food at the pool, the burger was great!! Lots of activities, the guys were off playing table tennis, golf and archery whilst we soaked up the sun, well for as long as we could stand it! Would deffo recommend, yes its hot, but the pool was great and the rooms were well air conditioned.

GirlAnachronism - this is our issue, we weren't in somebody else's space. We know how annoying it is when people take your space so to avoid confrontation DH parked on the road section where about 4 other cars always park and security have told him to park. In future we are better annoying other people and risk their temper as opposed to a fine every night but that is not a life we want to endure. The whole appeal process just shouts, why waste your time, but i am glad people are doing it so we will pursue and see how we go.

Div we are massive Entertainer fans and buy all of the books. For the trip we are using 4 of their books! The Travel is offering Buy 1 night get 1 free, so we are saving 1,000aed per room and we have 4 rooms going. The Arabic buffet show is in Fine Dining which is over 400aed each, all of the other restaurants are in the Family book and the Spa is in the Body book. We may appear to be voucher addicts but with 8 of us going we will save a small fortune, sure we have already saved 4,000aed before we arrive! I am going to call them today to ask about the Family Brunch as we are thinking of doing this too, so excited!!! Jenc123, I have the fine dining and the family Entertainer books which I will try to use there but is there anything for a spa as well? Would it be worth getting a book? Please do post your comments when you return! have a lovely stay there.

You can pay a company to do all this for you so i'm sure going through them you could do this quite easily. They have their office at the entrance of the Al Barsha test centre. Certainly worth a call.

8 of us are going for the first time next week. Whilst it is already hot, 40 degrees today apparently, we have been told that the pool area, spa and roof top bar/restaurant should all amazing. Not sure if you know about the Entertainer but we have booked using the travel booked and saved 1,000aed per room and also have the other books for the dining and spa whilst we are there. More money for drinks in the pool :) I will be able to report back in 12 days or so, we cant wait!!

If you want real budget we stayed in Universitat at a hotel called the Splendid, rooms were perfect but there were very limited facilities. We got married in Barcalona and everyone stayed in the ME, which was very funky and not a bad price, although it is a little off the explorers track it is next to a tram stop. Such an amazing city and very jealous of your trip!!!

We use them on the basis that they're 'not valid' for take out, as per the rules, but if you get away with here and there then it's a bonus! Sumo Sushi used to allow it but have recently stopped.

Fairmont is 10 out of 10, plus its in the Entertainer Travel book. We went for anniversary last June and absolutely fell in love with the place, would recommend it to anyone! If you stay make sure you pay the little extra to have a creek view room.

We were shocked to be honest regarding the state of it, we too were attracted by what appears to be a great price for the area but did a swift U-turn upon closer inspection. As i said Sulafa is far more impressive in terms of the actual apartments and finish, but isnt without its negatives also. We looked at Ocean Heights too and aside from the Pool we would choose Sulafa over this too, rooms are very odd and also small, plus it seems very easy to sneak into use the pool :)

Hi Babylons, we are looking down that way too and have friends there who say its fine. We looked at the Pinnacle last week though and i cant say it is in good shape, very dirty and damaged already. The Sulafa around the corner is much higher quality, however has the draw back of the warzone outside!

I wonder with all the negative press these websites are getting, both here and in the UK, whether will see the end of these deals websites soon. Groupon are all over the place here with the CEO leaving this week and the UK government giving them 3 months to sort themsleves out and stop misleading the public. Either that or at least one of them will hopefully buck the trend and offer some quality deals which they and the outlet can fulfill. But with so many of them doing the same thing I know which way i would place my money and it won't be in any of their bank accounts again.

I tried to pay via Emirates NBD last month and it was not working. To be honest i then forgot about it and we were cut off yesterday. I do wish they would hurry up and introduce Direct Debit billing over here as we have never been late making a payment before for anything but this was just a case of tried/failed and then forgot about it.

Ladies what you have to remember with these deals on cobone or anyone is that the outlet is giving you a 50% discount and the cobone 25% meaning they are left with nothing! As a result whether its a massage or a car valet you are never going to get the full service or attention as the outlet often regrets doing the offer and you become more of a annoyance than a customer. I made my mistake last year and have unsubscribed to all of the daily sites now.

I think i can answer this as DH & I had the same issue with the Montgomerie. The voucher can only be used on the rack rate or visitor rate, therefore if they have a twilight or residents promo you can use one or the other. To be fair its the same with any voucher or offer so i dont think Els or the Entertainer are being cheeky. Not played the Els yet is it worth a visit? Can't wait for next weekend and the Desert Classic!

We have just had your dilemma! We moved into Burj Views 2 weeks ago. We loved the Lofts, even with the dodgy green wood, but couldn't find a reasonable sized 1 bed for under 75,000. The finsh looked great in 8B, but it is literally in the middle of a construction zone meaning you can just walk out onto Emaar Boulevard it is always jumping in the car. I guess it horses for courses though and it looked a busy tower the twice we went there.

We had so many guests last year, 2months in total, we actually decided to move to a 1 bed this year just to put them off coming! When its close family they will either pay for a hotel or we will work something out in the apartment, but everyone else can go down the hotel route. At first we tried to accompany people most nights but by the end we had to just send them with some Entertainer Vouchers and chill out on the sofa for a few nights. You end up spending as much cash as them, if not more in some cases with our guests last year! Long live the one bed!

Not sure if you know but Cyrpus in August is not far away from Dubai in August regards the heat! The only differnce is they are no where near as geared up regards the AC and indoor activities. We went this year and used Limassol as a base, not far to drive to all aspects from there, never much more than an hour. Car hire is much cheaper than taxi's so make sure you go down this route. A couple of people have already mentioned the Entertainer, it was the first year for it over there and some places weren't sure how to accept it properly but it was all good in the end and saved us cash just as it does here. We love the island so if you need any more info just shout.

I don't have kids, but in my opinion an iPad is for fun and quick web browsing and is great at it, but it will never replace a laptop for word, excel and PowerPoint etc which your DS may need to use to complete projects. I guess it depends on her age and the main purpose for the gift :)

We had drinks in Cala bar in the Address downtown last year and walked back over to a friends apt in Burj Views for the fireworks. The Khalifa was amazing but the Atlantis fireworks which we could also see lasted almost 3 times longer. I can also confirm the Downtown was roadblocked until about 3 am! Enjoy everyone.

No they do say on the book when it is valid from (April 2011 - March 2012). I dont use this as much as the others, we love the Family & Fine Dining but we still get an awful lot of value from it. I use it for a spa treat everynow and again and nails and the hubby never has a haircut without a voucher. Can you use it all? Never! Do you still end up in profit? Absolutely! edited by Jenc123 on 11/12/2011

Try as many local restaurants & food as you can. Myself and DH went on our honeymoon last year and found an amazing tapanyaki restaurant in Ladies Market, we were the only westerners in there and the food was awesome. On the flip of that there is a restaurant called Aqua, which is not far from the Penninsula, we had food there and it was 10 out of 10. Really cool atmosphere on the 30th floor looking over the harbour...amazing!!! Tots roof bar in the Excelsior hotel also offer amazing views and a really nice vibe. So jealous!!

We recieved our Family & Fine Dining this week. Travel is next on the list as they have Bab Al Shams in this year!! Still 3 vouchers in the Family & Fine Dining and yes the Wine Voucher is inside and looks like a lot of new places to use it too. I don't think they are in the shops yet, certainly not in Spinneys by us yet.
