l love my bb - I have the Bold 9870 (I think) it is the one before the newest one anyway. I love bbm and the fact I can access FB and yahoo and my emails whenever and wherever. My dh has had so much trouble with his iPhone so I am so glad I went for a bb. I pay 130dhs per month to du for full internet and social networking. I sometimes top up another 50dhsd for phonecalls and sms but rarely need to with bbm, whatsapp, fb, etc. Good luck... Oh and btw, I haven't used it overseas yet so we will see next week how I go in Malaysia...eeek! edited by johjoh on 31/03/2012

Hi napo - look on www.dubizzle.com for EVERYTHING! Places to rent, furniture, jobs and cars!!! And also, maybe not decide on a car straight away, get a hire car for a few months whilst visa and licenes etc are being processed and take your time to look around, talk to people and decide. You need to consider how people have treated a second hand car here...have they taken it off road/into the desert for example. Some cars don't seem to fair as well in the sandy conditions here - some say Toyotas are the best and never need attention, also American cars seem to be good (Jeep) as they are built for the conditions. Servicing and maintenance costs can be high for some cars too eg BMW, Land Rover. Lots to think about. We went for a brand new Pajero - got a LOT for our money, very reliable, free insurance and servicing...bit boring but practical for our life out here...sometimes wish we'd splured and gone for the XC90 or the X5 or the Discovery but glad we didn't when we hear some stories. However, a lot of people have money to burn here so don't mind. I am sure others will have opinions that differ from mine... Good luck anyway x

Highly recommend the Palace at the One&Only Royal Mirage. Beautiful setting either in the lobby lounge or out on the terrace. 95dhs - one is enough for two. I agree!!! Also the Al Qasr but it is 150dhs - again one is enough for 2 people.

You HAVE to do mOre cafe - at the foot of the Burk Khalifa - get a table on the terrace outside as the temperature is obviously great right now. 30dhs per person from 330pm and is perfect. 4 small buns - x salmon and 2 cream cheese...your choice of cake and a small plate of cookies/biscuits...and your choice of tea etc.... not amazingly posh like the 5* hotels but the location and price are fab and the food and service is good too xx Have fun xxx

Thanks ladies. I was thinking about the Bateaux but then read some bad reviews on here. We have done the fountains to death but my dad hasn't done the Burj K yet. I hoped there would be a mega fantastic deal for the Burj Al Arab but still mega spondoolies. Anyone heard of any other offers? xxxx

Each to their own ladies. Big boobs, small boobs, whos cares?! But what matters is what that person feels like inside. I had my boobs done over 10 years ago. I was a AA and felt sooo self conscious. I went up to a C cup and felt great, just felt sooo feminine and confident. After 2 kids and 12 years on I am now a big lass and am now a 36DD but that suits my big ass frame. Don't get on her case and make her feel like she should justify her feelings and questions. Everybody is different.

I think the most recent name it was given was 'Tanner' but I am sure when I was a kid it had a different name! My 7 year old DD says it is called 'Sequin' in the Fashion Fairytale movie so these days I think Barbie is not fussy! Changes her mind and her pets like the weather! Girls these days huh? lol

Thanks ladies. I was upset last night so please forgive me jewelsmiddle. There is currently no school bus from AR so I am not able to do that. :( I have emailed my regional manager and asked him to re look at my hours and I have explained why. I am keeping everything crossed that he will be sympathetic and realise that as I am perfect for this job (:)) he should do this for me! What will be will be. Last nights tears have dried and I am feeling more positive now :)

Thanks for the words of wisdom. I am having a hard enough time of it as it is, thanks. I accepted the job with different hours and a car share in place but things change don't they? I have asked at DESS and put a sign up. I have asked different friends, I have also put signs up in the supermarkets. Anything else you want to say to make me feel worse?

I saw that Building Blocks in Motor City are running camps throughout July. 600 dhs for members & 700 dhs non-members. I don't know the age range and there is no information on the website. I think I saw a flyer at Spinneys MC. Thanks will give them a call too x

Thanks sleepy, what I am concerned about too is that the kids are well supervised. A friend of mine has tried a few different camps and has said that Libra where the first that she has ever felt her daughter was safe with, which is obv very worrying!

Jess AR will run the Splash summer camp but I'm not sure if it's only for Jess students and it'd be from FS1 (or maybe even FS2) stage onwards. edited by A Rancher on 20/05/2011 Thanks for that. I will look into it. I think it was JESS kids only when I have enquired about it previously. Keep the suggestions coming though xxxx

Yes Kidville would only take the youngest at a cost of 2350 for 3 hours a day for 3 days for 2 weeks! Extortionate! I have only just started the job so haven't accrued enough holiday yet. My mum is coming out but not until mid July. 10 weeks to cover! Makes me think this working lark is not going to work! I was hoping the camps would be around 500 each week with a discount for siblings or something. I'll work something out but I feel a bit held to randsom at the moment! Thanks for your input ladies x Oh and by the way, does anyone know if JESS AR have anything going on camp wise?

Yes the prices are the same as normal but what I am saying is that the prices are expensive for me!! I have two kids 4 and 7 and not all of them take both of those ages. I have been told by someone who has done most of them that Libra is the best in their opinion and that one will cost me 2800 for 2 weeks. however, Dubai Summer Camps will cost me 2550 for 2 weeks including transportation one way and breakfast and snacks. KidsTheatreWorks at school would cost 3200!!! I know it is for 2 weeks and for 2 kids but I don't earn much! Okay for those that are on amazing packages and high high earners but not all of us are. edited by johjoh on 20/05/2011
