The pilots make the decision to turn on the seat belt signs. The cabin crew do not have the authority! The captain has the responsiblity of the plane and passengers including, the cabin crew. Last part of your statement totally right First part NOT TRUE AT ALL, the cabin crew are the eyes and ears of the CABIN, if they so wish for the seatbelt sign to come on for whatever reason then the captain will obey their orders immediately, end of. As someone else pointed out, if people dont wish to follow instuctions, then thats their own fault.

Easier to get the trolleys up and down the aisles when everyone's confined to their seats. Cabin crews have NO control on seatbelt signs. Pilots do. And if they leave seatbelts sign on, it's because there's turbulance or they expect some. Simple as that. So you've never been C Crew then

Just spotted the Beckhams..... Those two are a fine example of how it doesn't matter how much money you have, it doesn't buy you class! Walking inside Westminster Abbey with your arm draped over your husbands shoulder is a big no no, and he must be the only one there wearing his OBE on his jacket, how crass! And wearing it on the wrong side apparently!!!! DOH................... Do love him though, at least he smiles :O

Im from Abu Dhabi but was in Dubai just the other day and saw a lovely selection of wedding things,Confetti included, in the Susan Walpole shop along beach road. I think the centre was Jumeriah Plaza but cant be sure? If i remember rightly it was 14 dirhams a box, which i thought was really quite good value!

Wow that sounds amazing and well worth the 35$ charge to set up!! Thank you so much, and also thanks for not making me out to be silly!!! Another quick question, do you pay tax on anything you import or send over, or is it just buy it online and it arrives? Thanks and Happy Shopping xx

Im sure its really normal, i had exactly the same, but good that you've got an appointment for trmw!! I live in Abu Dhabi and had both of mine here. First one in Corniche which we had to pay as i wasnt covered, that was such a terrible experience as i thought it was only a D and C, day job, in and out but i couldnt have been more wrong!! I stayed 3 days/2 nights, thought i was going to bleed to death as they gave me tablets(from down) to try and induce a miscarriage, nothing happened except a huge blood loss and ended up having a ERPC anyway!! All for the grand total of 5500dirhams!!!! The 2nd i was dreading because of what i had been through previously but we saw a lovely Lebanese Dr at Franco Emrien hospital, was in at 9am and home but 11am, as i said before no pain no bleeding no nothing!!!! Did you also have the tablets, some Dr's give them to soften the cervix. I had them the second time but a smaller dose, they do it so they dont tear anything for future pregnancies I hope your experience wasnt as dramatic as mine, you dont need bodily pain, its already mentally painful enough!!! Goodluck tmrw, you'll be fine Im only down the road and can be in Dubai in an hour if you need anything xx xx

Ive had 2 ERPC ops in the last 5 months, the first one was exactly as you have described except the face thing? However the 2nd one COMPLETELY different and different Dr, no bleeding at all and no pain 2 hours after the op. Did they give you a course of antibiotics to take, as some hospitals only ask you to take it as a precaution? Hope your feeling better soon, i do know exactly how you feel...........not nice :(

Better go and see any good obs. If she has previous complications and is married and has kids then it's only unto doctor to decide whether pregnancy is harmful or not. Then it Can be terminated. Hurry then at least you have option of going home for termination. And here I am scheduled for d&c for sat coz my baby has stopped growing :( I know that feeling, Im in the same boat as you, just had my 2nd D&C last sat, 2nd one in 5 months!! :( Hope all goes well, not a nice time hey........Thinking of you xx

Well i speak from exactly the same experience...........i got married last August and wanted to do exactly the same as you!! I was a huge(hate to say it,fattest ive been in my life)78Kgs, i set a goal and just got my head down and did it. It only takes putting on a pair of trainers and as much as i hate to say it, running. I had 5 months to do it in as i wasted 6 previous months just talking about it. I ran/jogged for 30 - 45 minutes every single day and added a few weights and sit ups but not daily. I also knew that i wouldnt be able to cut out totally carbs/chocolate and a few treats, so i didnt, all i did was make sure i saved my treat for late night as a reward for all my hard in the day. My portion size i also cut down and that was the hardest part as i LOVE FOOD!! I didnt go without at all and im wishing now that i had pushed myself that little bit more or not messed around for the 6 months i had lost. However after all this story i did manage to lose 13KGS!!! So it can be done, i was 65 Kgs for my day and boy did i feel great! Can i also add that i ordered my wedding dress 2 sizes to small so i had alot of pressure to reduce, but thats how convinced i was about doing it! (Wouldnt advise anyone to do it though hehehehe) Goodluck, just imagine how great you'll feel on your big day, and yes, your husband will love you exactly the same, but its about how you'll feel!!!

Philly, i do have an address but the problem is, they have got so wise to the whole thing, you now have to actually prove somehow that your a resident, either by Bills or wage slips, phone bills etc etc, none of which i can do?? Im sure there, saying that, there must be ways around it!! Just takes the mickey that as a TRUE BRIT(know what i mean??) your not allowed..........Welcome to the UK

Mrs L, it certainly sounds like your used to the ''pay as you go'' way of health cover, im not, so yes it was a HUGE shock! Cant actually believe that as a Brit i cant go home and deliver as ive been an expat for 6 years and im expected to pay. What the cost is, i havent looked into it yet, but might consider it as an option as there can be a few complication with the British passport for your childrens children if also delivered out UK, something like that anyway? Have you considered going back home to deliver at all? Maybe its cheaper? I have the SHIFA(ADNIC) cover and it was only 5800 for maternity cover 100% immediately active, but i was lucky in that i signed the policy about 3 weeks before i knew i was pregnant(the 2nd time). I did enquire at AXA when i renewed my car insurance, they seemed quite reasonable for health cover(full maternity), have you tried there? Goodluck, i did hear someone mention Maternity packages around certain hospitals, i would be interested to know what they offer and how much it is, if you are looking into it, i was under the impression it was only available in Dubai but must be wrong.

Well compared to the Uk yes of course, because if i was classed as a resident still it would of course be all free! But yes as you say comparing it to nothing else here as i have no other experience with that procedure, but gobsmacked when whacked with a bill for 6000AED(nearly 1000 pounds!!!!) Is that what you might pay in the states??? Maybe myself and DH see things here as expensive as we are so used to having a medical service back home which is free and very good. My main point was that Womens Health Clinic charged 675 including a scan, and Cure Clinic charged 1675 not including a scan(as we went very early) We have now got insurance with ADNIC, they dont ask if your pregnant at the time of taking out the cover, and it starts straight away in UAE slected hospitals, Cure, Gulf D.Centre, Al Noor and a few more, take a look on their website, the policy i think was 5800AED from memory???

I found out i was pregnant in Dec last year, i went to the Womens Health Centre(part of corniche hospital)without insurance. They did every single blood test and a scan at 9 weeks, total cost was 675 AED. Sadly i had a blighted Ovum and was advised to have an ERPC(D and C) which i had at the Corniche. VERY EXPENSIVE all in all. Basically the advised me to try some tablets to induce a miscarriage, that didnt work, they tried twice in total, was in for 2 nights beacuse of it and in the end finished with a ERPC, very quick and easy but a hefty bill at the end of it all, 6000AED!!!! Looking back and reading others stories, i could have waited for a natural miscarriage but do kind of believe now i didnt get the correct guidence and info like in the UK but who knows. Either way, the care at the Corniche is amazing!!! I am now "'hopefully"' pregnant again, fingers crossed, and have been going to see Dr Sawsan at Cure, she is amazing, but again not cheap...........for all the blood tests, appointment and urine test only, my bill was 1675 AED...........to which i nearly fell over(or my DH did)!!! She does listen but she does have strong opinions though so be a little forceful if you need to be. I will hopefully continue with her and she attends a delivery at Al Noor or your prefered choice. I also found Al Noor to be less of a ''Çircus'' type atmosphere than Corniche, but its personal choice isnt it. But guessing i would assume the total cost isnt cheap as per my first appointments!! Goodluck with your pregnancy xx

I used to take my cat to The British Vets(02 6650085). Charges were about the same as the American Vets AVC (02 6655044) both of which are on island. However since boarding my cat in the summer at the German Vets GVC in Khalifa city ive remained with them. They are all about the same price wise, GVC might be a bit cheaper, but i can also get appointments, grooming appointments and boarding alot easier. The staff are also very helpful(not that the other 2 arent of course) The only downside is that its a bit further away but no big issue. The number if you need it 02 5562024......Hope your kitty likes xx
