Ive no suggestions as I'm in Abu Dhabi but id love to know what others say about it. I'm going through the same with my two and a half year old, he doesn't share very well apparently and he's not very good at socialising, surely these are things they are meant to LEARN at nursery hence why we send them? I recently had his two year health check in the UK, ok it was alone with a health visitor but she expressed there was no cause for concern. Is his speech ok when your talking to him? All the online trusted sites say that as long as parents and long term carers can understand a 2.5 year old then there is no problem, by 3 they should become more clear to strangers?

My sister and her husband went through a broker who arranged their first mortgage last year and a second buy to let mortgage last month. They had to complete a massive amount of paperwork and emails but got there eventually. I spoke to him last month and have started the process for a second house we'd like to buy so I know it's possible. His [email protected] Hope he can help x

Hello to all you May mummies and bumps, glad everything is going to plan We sadly were dealt a massive blow at the end of November. A routine scan showed one of our twin girls had massive abnormalities, Downs was detected along with severe hydrops and a complete body cystic hygroma. We were advised to wait it out by many Drs here in the Hope that she would eventually pass away. We did however go for a third opinion at another Dr who advised us that we would be potentially damaging the healthy twin and therefore it would be best to try and intervene. I travelled home to the UK where I underwent a very very sad "selective reduction(fetocide") and waved goodbye to my little angel on 21st November. All was going to plan until 10 days later when I started bleeding and then delivered her at home. I was rushed into hospital and within a few hours the waters broke for my healthy girl. She was too immature to be even given a chance at survival and I then started to develop septicemia so they decided to induce me and I delivered her on 2nd December. My world shattered into a million pieces and still hurts like crazy now. My only comfort is that my two angels are together as they were meant to be and I have my beautiful little 2 year old boy laughing and crying along with me. I wish you all a plain sailing second half to all your pregnancies, I'm waiting and checking back everyday, to hear the news of your progress, love and best wishes x x

Can any one tell me if its possible to put my sons stage 2 maxi cosi Axiss in the front seat WITH THE AIRBAG OFF? I'm expecting twins next year and have a 4x4 but still think it will be a struggle to get him in the middle seat while the other two ride by the windows? The UK gov website on carseats does say quote" Children under 3 must be in a child car seat. If there’s no room for a third child seat in the back of the vehicle, the child must travel in the front seat with the correct child seat." The problem is that there is room it's just for my comfort when placing them in especially after having a possible c section? Any help would be gratefully received, thanks in advance x

Ped doctor we use Dr Evva at Burjeel, excellent Dr but be prepared to wait, she loves to talk in depth so always over runs on appointments, worth the wait though :) Avoid one of the others, bad bad experience and six months of incorrect diagnosis, maybe not her fault however didnt fill me with confidence........but each to their own.

Congratulation to everyone!! I'm also a May "to be" mummy and after going for a scan we've discovered I'm pregnant with TWINS!!! Nervous does not describe how we are feeling, as this is our second/third babies now. All is well with both heartbeats, just wish I felt well!! I've had the most unbearable morning sickness and unlike my first pregnancy this one I'm actually vomiting and can't keep anything down ? It's that bad I would rather go through labor again!!! If anyone has any solutions let me know, I've tried everything including meds by the dr but they make it worse and make me even more sleepy than normal! Good luck with the growing bumps and appetites Lots of love and hugs x

Please help, I am at a total loss and going round in circles to which no Dr seems to understand. My one year old has never been a great eater and most people just said it would pass,he was teething etc. his weight gain was ok,not brilliant but still gaining slightly. For the past few months he's been completely refusing solids, will sometimes eat yoghurt and cheese pieces but nothing that I would call a healthy meal. Now after weeks of hospital visits to try and find a cause, it seems the results from a tummy x ray show he has faecal impaction and its going to be a long road to recovery. I'm already at my wits end about what to do. He was prescribed Movicol but after every mouthful a few hours later he vomits everything up! Now we are trying to manage only with Lactoluse but again, he vomits. he won't take food of any sort,he just cries and screams and wont open his mouth, he will take milk but then it's a vicious circle because of the dairy making it worse. We were asked to use glycerin suppositories every other day to get some motion and we've moved on from black hard stools to green or yellow softer stools. I'm just so worried that he's going to end up dehydrated from vomiting but we also understand the urgency of sorting the tummy out? Help I'm so confused and feel hopeless right now, it's stressing me which then stresses my husband and all of this has an effect on DS............

Just one for Abu Dhabi, makes it well worth it, although you can buy a yearly pass for Yas WW @ 1000Aed or Yas WW and FW @1500Aed, if you think you'll go more than four times a year it's also worth it XX

They are showing back in stock on the UK Boots website so the stock is now available again after their fire! My mum managed to get some late last year on the high street shop as well. she arrives on 11th Feb into Dubai, let me know if you would like her to try and pick a few boxes up? Have you also tried Bickiepegs, you can order from amazon or boots(via shop and ship) they didn't work for my son as he already had some teeth and I was worried he'd bite the end off but without any teeth they are meant to be miracle cures........ Hi Claudia Congratulations on your husbands job offer! I hope your future move goes well and is everything you hoped for. I believe there are many Etihad employee's living in Al Reef as its situated extremely close to the airport. There are also a lot of families which will obviously suit your needs with your baby. I used to work for Etihad for many years but have now left the company to be a SAHM to my 10month old son. I live in the city but hopefully some of the Al Reef clan will pop up with some good information for you. I will look out for you though when you arrive as we do lots of activities in and around the city with the Mums and Baby groups, you may have seen the Abu Dhabi Mums website already? But one thing I would hope is that you will be driving and have a car as its quite a way out of town(ie 30mins to downtown corniche) for a Mum with a baby, you may feel quite isolated at first, of course it's just my opinion, I don't live there so it might suit you? Again I'm sure the other ladies will offer some good advice, just shout if you need anything HTH

I've just spent all afternoon on the phone to Natwest as my UK Visa debit card has already been used for many transactions amounting to the grand total of 1228GBP.......it was under "fraud watch" for the past 3months(why they didn't advise me I don't know) and has only just been cancelled today. The money has been credited by Natwest but will only stay if I can submit various paperwork to support my claim and respond within 10days, so don't hold out a lot of hope as I'm over here in UAE right now! I can honestly say I'm never going to buy online again from anything other than Paypal or a trusted site and even then I'll be nervous to do so. Scary what these clever thieves are able to do nowadays! Merry Christmas and Happy "SAFE" shopping x

We also have the largest size Dwinguler mat and love it!! It covers a massive space, it's great for nappy free days and sick days and is soft enough to prevent injuries but hard enough for learning to crawl. It looks pretty in the play area and will soon become educational as ours has the alphabet on one side and a big colourful picture on the other. Quite expensive but only comparable to a large rug or carpet.

They did stock them in Mothercare in Abu Dhabi but at the time(3 months ago) they only had the Red colour which actually looked Pink!! the mark up was a lot so I purchased mine and got my mum to bring it over, also meant I was able to pick my choice of colour. I got it when Mothercare also had an offer of 20 per cent off. But to be honest I'm not very impressed with mine..The main reason is that it tips up the minute you put anything on the back of it and its too big and quite bulky. I can confirm the price later this week if you'd like me to. HTH

You could always try the Falcon Hospital in Abu Dhabi, they have a cat section and agreed to take my cat into their care. I did find a friend in the end who took my cat on so didn't need to use them so can't comment how good they are. There isn't a charge and they are housed and looked after until a family wish to take your little fella into their home x Don't have the number to hand but a google search should bring up the number Goodluck, it's such a hard choice but know your doing the right thing x

Ah Thank you so much for your kind offers, we are doing great and almost back on track!!! I couldn't find that anywhere in Abu Dhabi, but I took a few extra Fenugreek Capsules and now we are back on form. It was such a weird time....now I'm back to feeling a let down,if not 2, and baby sucking well that he empties both breasts sometimes in one feed. Im still pumping a lot to try and convince by body I need it so I'm gradually getting my supplies back as well. I also contacted LLL here in Abu Dhabi, who were amazing and really added to my support along with you guys. Thanks again for all your help, I STILL LOVE BREASTFEEDING!!!!! Thanks LMAO, that's kind of you to recommend Cecile, however I'm in Abu Dhabi and think I'll struggle to get up to Dubai in the car with his feeding habits right now!!! I think your all right, I need to see someone now who can actually help hands on. I understand what your saying about tongue tie, but I'm sure I read that if he can put his tongue out lower than his bottom lip then we should be ok, that he can do,if not further! What you've said about the letdown would make a lot of sense, Im only feeling it in the mornings these days, sometimes very rarely in the day anymore, does that mean milk isn't flowing?? Ok so I'm going to stop asking questions and seek professional help...... Thanks again, it's soooooo good to know other people got through this stage with great success Much LOve x x

Thanks for all your help and advice. I'm still at a loss but trying put him to my breast at every given time. He just gets so fed up and frustrated that the flow Is so slow?? IM pumping and in the morning I can get a good 150 ml from both sides out in about 10minutes and but after that feeding and pumping for the rest of the day becomes a nightmare. He still has wet nappies and is happy and playful when awake but come feeding time he gets fussy and won't suck! Any thoughts, I truly don't want to give in. will my baby just not sleep if he's hungry......?? Would he just cry and cry til he eats? Or is he sleeping knowing he's starving, am I endangering him by sticking with it or shall I mix a formula? another question, I have the medela swing and fter the morning pump I'm running empty, is the breastsheild the wrong fit, should I try a bigger size or is it the supply? I read that the wrong size fit could also affect the ducts or milk supply. How do I know how to fit it, should all my breast fit inside the cone, as I have the 24mm one but have DD cups???? confused and getting stressed, another downside for my milk...... Pls help x x

No I'm a SAHM but we've just run dry! I was advised to pump after each feed to try and "pretend" it's baby feeding to boost my supply......is this not how it works? We have had feeding vacations and skin to skin feeding most days for the past week but nothing has boosted it I'm just at a loss, I was hoping to wake up this morning to find the Milkman had been but sadly not.....I think one more day to use to frozen supplies I have and then it's over to formula for a while :( A bit gutted as we are going on holiday next week and I have no idea what to take with regards to formula and bottles and cleaning et all....... Hi Ladies, can anyone please advise me what to do next......I'm very sad to have to say it but it seems my milk has dried up even after taking FEnugreek and Motilium and pumping for a few hours each day. I really feel that I'm not ready to give up without more of a fight but have no idea what to do next if I'm not satisfying my four month old anymore. He's been moaning for a few days but has always gone off to sleep with a dummy so I didn't think anything of it. however tonight I tried him with a bottle of pumped milk and to my surprise he stayed awake and was looking for more. I gave him almost 200ml in one feeding so I think he was starving bless him!!!! Should I just give in and deal with it and switch to formula feeds or is it worth sticking to it bearing in mind I only have about a full day of feeds from pumped milk? Please help a heartbroken Mummy x

We have been in an apartment in Ocean Terrace for about 5weeks now and love it!!! We love the location and the views we have on the 15th Floor. it's the first and only place we saw so I don't know from seeing it with my own eyes but our agent advised us that Marina Heights are the same fixtures and fittings but a different layout and smaller. the swimming pool I believe cos of the positioning doesn't get sunlight at all, whereas our pool has direct sunlight from Rise until Setting!! The finishings are "ok" nothing special and if I owned the property I wouldnt accept it but it's something I can live with for a rental. Again I haven't seen inside Sky tower but I have a friend of a friend who has lived there and the finishings are amazing, along with the views hence the price increase I suppose,it's also a bit further down on Al Reem than Marina Sqaure buildings. Hope you find what your looking for,if you need any more help just shout Ps......Not seen the Al Reem Mad Man yet?????? edited by jojobaaklini on 08/07/2012 edited by jojobaaklini on 08/07/2012

Well i only really know Marina Square as its the area where i live. Its the first 3 buidlings as you pull onto Al Remm from the Abu Dhabi entrances. We are the first buidling 'ocean terrace' within marina square. Great location for both entrance and exit onto Al Reem. It has a swimming pool and a play area for kids on the 6th floor both of which have sun all day but has a massive covered area with beds and tables, perfect for my 9 week old baby. There is lots of children in the building and the pool always gets busier at 3pm onwards when the schools kick out so depending how old your children are,it would be perfect! We searched on Dubbizle and found it straight away, the 2nd Tower next door(sorry the name i dont remember?)was the same price, the apartments are smaller and the pool doesnt get sun at all by the looks of the position. We have 4 floors of parking, all allocated to each apartment, only downside is its only 1 per 2bedroom apartment, but at the moment the barrier is not operational so my husbands able to park aswell. Geant express is within walking distance and lots of pathways to walk in the winter months. Sorry i cant be of help with the other buildings, we only looked at this one apartment, fell in love with it so much and decided to take it straight away! Your more than welcome to come and take a look at ours and the swimming pool etc if you would like to, my mum is here on holiday though so if im not checking back on here feel free to contact me on..... We moved in last month to an apartment in Marina Square, love it here and wouldnt want to live anywhere else. We have a lovely swimming pool and underground parking. There is a Geant Express which sells everything you could need. A few more shops are meant to be opening soon La Brioche, Pharmacy, Flower Shop and the mall is well under construction but still no date of opening as yet. Most places deliver fast food over to here and there is a laundry company that aslocollects and returns items.Me and DH both drive and have cars so dont know about Taxi's however we see them coming in all the time dropping off so they must be available, i did hear someone say you can order them easily enough. I have the my3 which i got 2nd Hand in the UK(paid less than a 3rd of the price)as i delivered there. I loved the pushchair when i was over there as everywhere you go is designed for pushchairs and wheelchairs however here is another story. I find its so big to even get around most shops, get through doors and even sit in a coffee shop without people bashing me or squeezing through. Its very easy to plonk the chair/bed on the wheels and even to put the wheels down is easy enough however i find its still a mission taking it all out of the car and putting it together that ive actually just ordered the Maclaren XLR for my mum to bring over next week. I have a huge 4x4(VW Touareg)and still find that it takes up all the space in the boot, so much so that i havent found a way of placing it so that i can put the shopping in aswell. Im finding that i have to triple handle everything to do the weekly food shop!! The shopping basket is good for nothing really as its very small and to fold the wheels fully it has to be completely empty. I did buy the handle hooks and it can take alot of weight before i think it will tip up. After all these negatives,it does move very easily, so much so that i can push that and a supermarket trolley full of food at the same time which has to be a bonus if your minus a maid! I do love how it looks and have had so many comments about it, i was very excited to even use it as a chair in a few months but i feel in this heat and humidity i needed a "one foot" open and close buggy style pushchair more. Sorry if i put you off completely, maybe after trying this Maclaren i might even change my mind and believe its not as hard as i thought, i dont know, but i'll post back. If i do get along ok with my new one your more than welcome to borrow mine for a trial before you pay out for something your not going to get on with. Im also in Abu Dhabi which has it fair share of high curbs and very few ramps, Dubai(if thats where you are)might be different and more managable. Hope this helps x x
