If you cant drink hot drinks, try cold/room temp and flat Ginger Ale, worked a few times for my 15week sickness!!! Always try and keep your stomach full, nibble crackers or biscuits before you even get out of bed in the morning. I found Apples helped me, weird i know, but always kept away the metal taste from my mouth. The wrist bands were also a little help, but to be honest i found no miracle cure, its the slowest time of your life, but i kept reminding myself it would be worth it in the end! Goodluck with the rest of your pregnancy.

So hows everyone doing? Starting to get really uncomfortable now? Ive just started my 33rd week and feel ok actually, better than i thought i would anyway! Although im sure that will change within the next 7 weeks......I did go for a scan last week though and since Week 28 my naughty little boy is breech and hasnt turned since? Dr keeps telling me its fine and he will turn but im so nervous that there wont be room and i"ll end up having a c-section. I really dont care as long as he comes out safely and healthy but im so worried about the recovery time after, i feel like i need to get back to some proper exercise and a c section will just slow me down? Anyone else Breech right now, or can share any experiences about trying to turn a breech, im still swimming and walking everyday, im climbing the walls to raise my legs and roaming the house on all fours(with the curtains closed!!!) but hes not having any of it and insists on staying upright!!! Take good care April Yummy Mummies x x x x

Im travelling back to the UK in 4 weeks time(fingers crossed) to deliver in mid April in the Cambridge Area. I was imformed that being an expat for over 5 years i would have to pay for any treatment i have, unless of course Emergency, as a Brit Citizen you are seen. All that is required is that i register at the Dr's surgury locally to me and then they book you in for delivery and slap you with a bill at the end of all of it. Unless as the other poster has mentioned, you can prove your a resident, which i cant. I received an e-mail from the local hospital when i made enquires about cost,if you would like to take a look let me know and post your e-mail i'll forward it on. It must vary from hospital to hospital but will give you a rough idea. If in the mean time anyone else has any info please share..... TIA

Ive seen Dr Fadi Hachem at Franco Emrien Hospital who is excellent, he's very gentle and lovely to talk to, he can be a little quiet though and unless you ask many questions he wont come forward with information. He's Lebanese but perfect English and extremely up to date with all procedures and info from all different countries. I dont see him anymore though as he travels to Lebanon(as far as i know) most weekends and i didnt like the thought of being heavily pregnant and something happening and him not being here(as he's a OB/GYN aswell). I now see Dr Zainab in Consultants Clinic on Salam Street, she is amazing, a lovely bubbly chatty lady, very open minded, very honest and a world of knowledge!! Shes Iraqi but again perfect English and modern way of thinking. Very Happy with her and can always get an appointment on the same day or if not the next day. HTH

No dont get excited!!! Only really Mothercare in the Downtown area of Beirut and the mark up from the uk is crazy............so much more than the mark up in UAE(which is also CRAZY!!!!!!!!!) They have Next in City Mall, which has a large selection for babies but again the prices are sky high. But it depends how you see things, im from the UK,married to Lebanese, so im always comparing to prices back home, to then shop and ship to UAE as it works out cheaper Sorry to have any good news!

Sorry to drag up someone elses old thread but im also going round and round in circles trying to decide which seat is the best option!!! I have seen a new seat on the market by KLIPPAN, its on carseat.se, im only sold on the idea of it as it fits an Isofix and Non Isofix car, which me and my husband both drive. Its also Rear facing or FWD facing right up until 36kgs(i think i read) so acts as a booster seat for later years. Firstly has anyone heard of this brand or knows someone who has got the seat already? Also does your baby/child get sick or fed up of facing backwards, or dont you let it bother you if it means their safety is protected more? Is Isofix actually important anyway if most cars only have a belt it must be just as safe,is it? Any info or guidence would be great as its alot of money to fork out but you have it a long time so it should be the best choice, my head is actually spinning now with infomation overload......why DH gives me these responsibilites i dont know!!!

Hi Laura, Thank you so much for your reply, thats very clear and eased my mind. I think we have almost decided anyway to return home to the UK to deliver there as it seems alot easier gaining paperwork and passports, rather than go to every single government office in UAE and stamp every document 100 times before its accepted :O Interesting to read your comments about our childrens children(our Grandchildren) because the general feeling and info that we get from the Embassy here in UAE is that they wont get "automatically''(like busybee is saying)a british passport, but they do say they will never leave you ''homeless'' but you must apply for one instead and its a bit of a hassle???? Hopefully we wont have to find out now??? Thanks again, very kind of you xx

Hello Ladies, hows everyone feeling? I went yesterday for a 12weeks scan and the little beauty waved right back at us, so cute!!!!!!!! All is looking good and the Dr seems happy with the growth. He did ruin the surprise and without out even asking if we wanted to know the s*x said we were having a boy??? My question is...........can he be so sure at only 12 weeks 1 day? Im reading that its only between 15-20weeks they can be 100%. He did stumble around after he heard my reaction and started to back track on his words but.........now my DH is totally over the moon and cant wait to tell everyone were having a boy!! Anyway, as long as all is healthy and well with baby i dont suppose it matters. Hope your all doing well and the sickness or headaches are slowly on the way out!!

The idea around the Isofix is that it clips in securely(in new cars/depnding on model)to the back of the seat and doesnt move,by metal clips. You then only need to sit the carseat on top of the base without messing around with the seatbelt every time. HTH And yes Maxi Cosi do an Isofix base to fit most Maxi Cosi seats edited by jojobaaklini on 26/08/2011

Cant ever beat Primark Bikinis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(if your coming from UK?) You wear them so often and they get ruined so quickley that i just cant part with 50 quid(300 dirhams) for the ones you get here. So stock up well on bikinis, sarongs, flip flops etc. Underwear aswell, M and S mark up is terrible here and again because of the constant washing in the hard water out here, they dont last as long as in the Uk. I have just discovered, after almost 6 1/2 years of living here, a Shop and Ship account(but dont tell the DH....) It means you can have all your stores at home deliver to UAE for a small charge but even with that charge you still beat the prices out here. Goodluck with the move, hope all goes well, welcome to Abu Dhabi.

On a positive note...........i live around this area, yes it is busy but i believe you do get used to it and it doesnt even bother me AT ALL, it doesnt keep me awake at night and early evening time you dont even notice it. I love the location, close to everything or a short walk/drive to anywhere! I love the city life, the hussle and bustle adds to the atmosphere of Abu Dhabi. I have lived in various different location in abu dhabi, khalifa street, al raha gardens, muroor with 23rd street and now TCA and i truely believe this is the best of them all!!! I would say one thing, PARKING? Do you have underground parking, this area is a nightmare otherwise...........a huge consideration if you havent got underground and the chance to move buildings, YES its that bad!!! Goodluck with your move, if you need anymore info let me know, can try and help It is all personal preference though isnt it...............!!!!! HTH

Coming from Dubai, stay on main Dubai-Abu Dhabi highway(do NOT turn off at Yas Island) follow signs for Maqta Bridge, cross over the Maqta bridge and stay on that road(do NOT turn off for Eastern ringroad/Salam street) go straight and you"ll pass a big Carrefour on the left, go over the bridge, when you hit the first signal you"ll see a Adnoc petrol station on right with American International School, On the left is Pepsi Cola, at that signal make a U turn, then immediate right, over a few humps and then i think a left, by that point you'll see the strange looking embassy building with an American flag on top. Goodluck, bring a few coin dirhams, not sure if its paid parking there now(dont think so)but plenty of parking anyway Feel free Abu Dhabi people to correct me if im wrong or you have an easier way to explain!!!! As i wrote the last message this just came through on my e-mail from timeout AD!!! It comes in as one of the best in town............ Al Fanar: The USP here is what’s out the window – you simply won’t find a better backdrop for your hard-earned Friday feast than the stunning panoramic vistas on offer in Al Fanar’s gently rotating dining room, making this an unbeatable spot to take visiting friends who appreciate a good view. A full lap takes about an hour, so remember to pose for the obligatory photo as soon as the city’s prettier sides drift into view. It’s booked to capacity practically every week, and, since coming runner up in the coveted Best Brunch category at TOAD’s 2010 Restaurant Awards, we’d advise getting your reservation in a good 10 days in advance to avoid disappointment. As for the food, we’d recommend dedicating the majority of your stomach space to Al Fanar’s staggering seafood selection, which includes oysters, razor clams, lobster, crab, decent quality sushi and plenty more besides. From the hot dishes, the cheese ravioli and grilled king prawns were the standout offerings the last time we visited. As for dessert, fresh fruit and mini versions of tiramisu and crème brulee are the highlights of an incredibly glutinous spread. Just be aware that, given that it’s a revolving restaurant, dishes may be in a different place when you go running back for another plateful. Wise to your delicate disposition, staff are polite and friendly throughout the service (things tend to get a bit more surly of a normal evening at Al Fanar), clearing plates as quickly as you can finish them and topping up bubbly with ruthless efficiency. Best of all though, children are mercifully scarce, meaning you needn’t worry about a wayward toddler crashing into your kneecaps as you head back for another helping of dessert. All in all, a delicious, decadent treat. Dhs220 including unlimited house pours. Fri noon-3pm. Le Royal Méridien, Al Markaziyah, (02 674 2020). Best for: Spectacular views Why: It is Abu Dhabi’s only revolving brunch.

Gulf tyres as in the one on airport road, just after street maybe 9 or 11???

nope shame it doesnt work out that way, they overcharged me and i should be charging them for all the extra time, meter payments, hassle, petrol etc etc, and still havent been re-imbursed.... [b'>[b'>but on a positive side they are so much better than they used to be[/b'>....[quote'> I can only imagine how spectacularly poor they used to be then !! hehehehe yep the ladies in mafraq are very good, but obviously they cannot perform miracles if its not their job, but they are very good and helpful better than a lot of other offices, i am now hassling the "new golf ball" and it will be done......... Well we have a result............after 2 years of hassling at "the new golf ball" they have adjusted my account and the 14,000 dirhams is gone!!!!! My son who is on a UK passport arrived via Abu Dhabi on Etihad. He wants to stay 2 more weeks but we are having a nightmare trying to find out where to go to get this done. We live in Dubai and no one in Dubai will do it. We tried the aiport in Abu Dhabi but they wont do it either and no one can tell us where to go. The website is terrible and no one answers the phone. Please help. right its easy you either drive to oman for the day out, or go to immigration in abu dhabi, immigration is on 19th st al saada road, on corner of 2nd st (airport road) right by Evangelical Church/BSAK (british school al khubairat), st joseph's church/st andrews church area BBee, am i right in saying though that you get 10 days grace period anyway and then the extra 4 days @ 100 dirhams a day, isnt it 590 dirhams now for an extention, so saving and also saving the hassle of finding the office and waiting??? Just a thought.........might be wrong though xx

Crew at L5: "Hi Captain xx, we're just about to try and feed 385 people in the 40 minutes before we get to top of descent and the sods won't sit down. Can you turn on the seatbelt sign?" Captain: "Sure, will do." That sound about right?! I read that BA were threatening strikes over Easter and they do seem to do it at peak times, so it probably wouldn't be a good idea as we're going beginning of June and it's half term :(. Hey-ho. OOOOOOOOOOh I remember sooooooooo well, that old chestnut! I have to say i took the risk and booked BA, couldnt stand paying almost double just for EK/EY. Although im going end of June not half term. Didnt they cover all of the Long Haul routes either with their own crews or other airlines sub-charters? But for 2800 Dirhams i was happy to take a chance. Your mum has freaked me out though with the whole terrorist attack thing :(
