I have had piercing done at SOS Beauty Salon in Town Centre Jumeirah 043491144. The staff were great and I would happily recommend them. It is proper piercing with a needle.

Is there a 10K on the Palm at the same time as the 5K Yes, you have the option to sign up for the 10k on the official website. The radio adverts that I've heard only talk about the 5k though. I'm really hoping there'll be lots of 10k runners though or I may be shamefully last :(. Janesul, was there a 10km last year or only5km? Did you run it last year? Training eeeek, we have train?

I just advertised my cot on Dubizzle under the free things section and within 5 minutes it was gone. I gave it away to a very needy and deserving family here in Dubai, they were so grateful too.

I had my DD's 8th birthday party there and it was fab. It was very well organised and run and I would book another party there again. I would be worried about a 3rd birthday though. 3 is the minimum age they are allowed to go in and our 3yo didn't enjoy it very much.

My tooth fairy kept my teeth and then my mum (tooth fairy) gave them to me when I didn't believe anymore. I kept them then tossed them out when I moved out of home. My DD's tooth fairy is keeping the teeth and I'll probably do the same as my mum did.

This information is invaluable. Purpose of the trip: to see some history, to eat pasta, let our children experience the culture...a bit of shopping for myself and my daughters, that sort of thing. We were all keen to see the Vatican but I read Lady Farquhar's thread and it made me think again...3 nights is not alot so I googled Vatican tours and couldn't find one under 3 hours.. Can you just go to Vatican City and see it from the outside, without doing a tour? My husband just got back from his first time in Paris and he just wandered the city and looked at all the famous buildings etc without going in as he was only there a day and the queues were long. He said he got alot out of just looking from the outside and knows where he would go first if we all get to go for a longer stay. All of the Vatican tours will be more than 3 hours because there is so much to see. You can just go to St Peters Basilica, its free to get in and its amazing to see. Would take you no time at all the browse and then move on to something else.

No its not just for labour camps etc. They donate all things to needy families in the UAE. I donated a heap of baby clothes which will go to needy families here and needy families of workers here. Donating your husbands clothes will probably be better since they can go to labour camps or their needy families. They also collect toys as well for these families.

Miss Teacher, yes the population of "nannies" (maids) has times about 10 since we moved in a year ago. And , yes it is more a huge social group for these ladies rather than looking after the children they are employed to do. I'm not sure if there is anything you can do about it other than inform a parent of on the the children but parents on podium level are rare!!! I think it it more a responsibility of the parents hiring incompetent, irresponsible and dangerous people to look after their children. Seriously, how people can trust most of the maids is beyond me.

How far do u run usually? Do u get bored after a while? I only started the C25K program 3 months ago. I did my first 12km fun run on Sunday which was the furthest I have run. I have found that over the last 3 weeks my average has been 7.5km four times a week. I am in the first throws of love so am not getting bored yet :D My BF completed the marathon event (42.2km). She has been training and building up to it for 2 years, is highly competitive and has said that her motivation was self-achievement. I agree with self achievement......I compete with myself constantly.....I would say that that is one my biggest motivations

I try to focus on thinking of something other than that i am running and for a few minutes every now and then i manage to 'zone out' and plan the week etc but i always end up back at 'i cant run anymore' in my head. I am still working on finding the best music to run to and i keep changing the playlist on my ipod. How far do u run usually? Do u get bored after a while? I run 40 kms per week. Normally 4 days of 10kms. I don't get bored and in the beginning when I used to think I can't run anymore, I would tell myself just one my km then you can stop and by the time I got there I found I was over feeling tired and I could normally keep going. But in saying that, sometimes you just have bad run days and if you really feel you can't keep going then set a time or km to stop at and call it a day. The next time you run you will feel better.

I also do all of my "thinking" during this time. I make mental lists, plan the days or week in my head, think of things I need to get done or tell people......then at the end of my run I write it all down and then I have a very productive to-do list. I am a relatively new runner but I am the complete opposite. I love the solitude that running provides and that I can have a complete brain break with no thinking required :) I'm too busy when I'm not running to think of things so running is my break from being busy and hence my thinking time :)

Do you listen to anything while running? Inspiring music, podcasts etc? Music helps me run long distances and I also do all of my "thinking" during this time.
