Everybody has different pain thresholds. I thought I was a bit of a wimp until I gave birth first time and found that I actually have a high pain tolerance. I have since given birth 4 times completely naturally with no pain relief. Its also a mind over matter game with yourself once you're in labour. If you are positive throughout your pregnancy and have in mind how you'd like to give birth (of course sometimes that's out of your control in emergency situations) and try and stick with that during labour, you'll hopefully be fine. If you have a strong support with you (ie husband, partner, mum etc) they can help you stay focused. However, when it all comes down to it, everyone is different and will cope with it how they can during that amazingly intense time. You'll be fine, every first time pregnant woman feels this way. :) Sending you strength :) ETA take all advice very cautiously and make your own mind up about things. IMO those mothers should not have scared you about PND. If you're positive and calm then labor and motherhood will be easy for you. goodluck edited by juzzrach on 06/04/2011

The average size in the UK are size 16's. So I wouldnt agree that most women are thin. The average British woman is fat too. I tend to agree, the average in a lot of countries these days has increased, probably due to bad lifestyle and food choices made by people now.

I do I do!! I have used it for years. I use VEET Sensitive and I love it. I use it everywhere even *cough* down there and I find that unlike shaving where the hairs can grow back courser, after using my VEET sensitive my hairs grown back slower and finely. I have never had a burning or reaction to it and I don't find it overly smelly. HTT :)

Thanks for your replies. Our machine is inside in a recess so well away from sand. I just thought the machine would last longer than 5 years as it was the most expensive model at the time but then it gets a lot of use. I may just go to C4 and buy the cheapest model Juzzrach, may I ask approx how much the LG was? I looked up Better Life which stocks a few brands but they don't give any prices on their web page. Thanks I think it was around 3700 from C4

We will be staying for most of it....our first Dubai summer although we will be escaping for our first summer ramadan. I have 4 DD's and when we arrived last year I told them that we weren't going to be visiting Ski Dubai, Aquarium, Kidzania etc etc because I wanted to save them for the summer so we'd have things to do...........I think I am up for an expensive summer!!

I took my DD's to one a few weeks ago and actually thought it was not that great. The food and cake was great but the entertainment was very poor. The kids were bored and just wanted to look around at all the animals instead of joining in the games. When the kids arrived the staff said to the childs mum "what do you want us to do?" the mum said "do you have any games that you normally play" The staff then said they would make up some games but that the mum would have to provide prizes which had not been communicated to her previously so she didn't have any. The "made up" games went on too long and the kids got bored. There were a mix of girls and boys but the boys did not join in at all. Mostly dancing type games. The ages at the party were between 6-8. I thought for the price of the party it would have been a lot better organised and run. This is my opinion only others may have had a great experience.

I can't help with prices of 3 or 4 beds but if you look on dubizzle prices will be listed. As far as big open spaces for running around and bike riding then there's plenty of that here.

Hi Alisha, Welcome to the forum and goodluck with the move. I moved here with my hubby and 4 daughters aged 7, 6, 3 and 1 just last year from Brissy! I will try and answer some of your questions although I am still new myself. For temporary accommodation we stayed at Horizon Tower at the marina. It has a metro station right out the front so that will be handy until you can drive. It is furnished and we rented through PK rent for about 6 weeks....sorry can't remember their number but we found it on Dubizzle. I don't know much about springs or meadows as I don't live there but I am sure someone else on this forum can help with that. As far as finding somewhere to live, try and find somewhere close to school. We found that we were looking a villas in areas which are no where near where are girls are going to school before we actually moved but once we got here it was easier to get a perspective of where everything is and how long it takes to get to where you need to go. As for the driving it is not that crazy and you will find yourself quite comfortable with it in no time. I too was warned of the crazy driving before we moved however, once here I don't find it a problem what so ever. Leasing a car is done easily here and won't take much time to organise. We did it when we arrived so I am not sure of advice to give you to pre-organise. If you come in on a tourist visa you can hire a car straight away with your ozzy licence however once your residency visa is being processed you are not supposed to drive. Are you trying to secure a school place for your daughters before you come? What sort of curriculum do you want? If you find a school with places for your girls you can do a search on here for feedback however, just bear in mind that every school suits families differently and you can only take other peoples opinions lightly.....someone who has a negative experience at one school doesn't mean everyone will. I am VERY happy with the school we found for our daughters, its suits our family perfectly. If you would like any help or have any other questions I would love to help a fellow Brissy girl. I didn't have anyone here that I knew when we came so had to do everything and figure everything out by ourselves. Although in saying that most people on this forum provide great info on lots of things and I asked lots of questions on here before we moved. I am happy to email you if you would like any more info.......if you post your email address I will jot in down and then you can removed it. :) Good luck with everything.....oh and where in Brissy are you from?

I always buy craft items, drawing or writing books, funky pens and colouring pencils. I have girls that age and they love to receive those type of items. Things that they can make themselves. The Toy Shop in MOE has a good range of DIY craft items.
