Would like to reiterate the last post, get down there asap, they don't always call or check the microchip, friends of ours had called twice and been told no their dog wasn't there, a kind lady from expat woman had advised them that she had seen a dog matching the description of theirs down there, after another visit, when once agin he was told his dog wasn't there, he happened to spot him as he was leaving, happy ending....fingers crossed for you as well.
